Narnia is the reason I know C.S Lewis.

Its also the reason I understood sometimes there are serious behaviour/personality problems in people we care deeply about.We cannot take responsibility for it,only they can.We can  be  supportive but shouldn’t let ourselves be victimized.Forgiveness is a choice for less stress in our lives,but forgetting is suicidal.Preaching doesn’t help but praying and timely help might.Eitherway it’s a choice and the choice is theirs not ours.

Sharing a few on my absolute favorite C.S Lewis quotes .

It’s not about the large tea for me but the really good one, with a perfect balance of flavours and sweetness.The temperature too needs to be just right.The book needs to be written to draw me in.Length is dependent on how long it can hold my attention .How good a book it is depends on how long I remember it fondly.

That’s absolutely true .We have a similar saying -aim for the sky ,you might just get stuck on the top of the tree!

The eternal nature of soul/aura/ether is the realson why the balance of  matter and energy in this world remains constant .No energy is ever lost and the body is just the temporary dressing/placeholder/external shell. The body has a warranty period…the soul lives on.

“Since it is so likely that children will meet cruel enemies, let them at least have heard of brave knights and heroic courage.”

I read somewhere that children are not born with an intrinsic sense of right/wrong …morality.Their parents and peer group have a big role to play.Bullies are often bullied sometime in their lives.The only way we can teach kids about courage is walking the talk and through stories about brave women and men.

No truer words have ever been spoken.Positive self talk is one of the toughest battles we must fight everyday.Exercising daily is my favorite way to fight the flab and the nay sayer in me.

Happened with my best friend in school.We loved reading books and there was no looking back.Many a casual friendship grew stronger because of shared interest in books.Book lovers are not a lost species…just exceedingly rare nowadays.

We love eating together too .It’s a way to bond like no other.On busy days too we try to sit down and have breakfast together.For holidays and festival days bonding over food at our home in Kolkata with family is a wonderful way to keep making memories!

Absolutely. Bad behaviour is a bad choice and in no way should be encouraged.Excuses about it will end up with that wrong behaviour being repeated.

Our life is indeed a story being written ,one day at a time .How we want to be remembered  needs a deep thought.But even more than that ,when you look at the mirror you must be able to smile and say “good job”.

I wrote about India’s Green hero who has regrown forest and is a true forest creator of modern times.Spending time in nature changed my life.

That may sound regressive and weird.But home is truly where the Heart is.Someone needs to care enough, to have food on the table and a cozy blanket put in just the right place for you to curl up and sleep.Its not easy ,but its the reason the Indian family system works.Society needs to think out of the box to avoid stigmatizing home-making!Just staying at home doesn’t make someone a homemaker. Doing it with creativity and love and feeling the appreciation makes the home maker find joy .Everyone needs to be at heart a   homemaker to find a home.

I have reached just that age and I am now re-reading old favorites.

A greater truth about the “company you keep”,has never been spoken.How people behave has a lot to do with their genes but a significant amount of environmental influence cannot be ignored.
