I don’t have a brother. I do have cousins. That’s why Rakhi while growing up was not something I thought a great deal about. But my sister who is six years younger wanted to celebrate all festivals. She insisted that since we looked out for each other we should tie Rakhi to each other Raksha Bandhan is just that. Right?
Easy Fun Rakhi Lettering for card
Protecting, looking out, and helping each other out. Isn’t that what the spirit of Rakhi all about?
My little girl celebrates Rakhi at school, with loads of fun and little idea about Raksha Bandhan .i did try to explain to her today morning when she got ready for school. She was more interested in learning how to tie it, than why and whom of it.
She has 3 cousin brothers who are not close. So if I do make a point about Raksha Bandhan she will not really understand. I am in two minds.
In the epic Mahabharat, Draupadi tied a Rakhi on Krishna. That’s why taking His name Draupadi always got protection.
Whether to make Rai feel her cousins are the brothers, or she would be better off, tying it to Krishnaand make God her protector.Any tips on this?

India, Bharat or Hindustan whatever you call it, this beautiful motherland of mine, is a lesson in unity in diversity. Okay, it may be a little on the rocks, but all relationships go through their ups and downs. Doesn’t mean we can’t repair the broken parts. But intentions from all sides must be towards the same goal. I love my country. I adore the variety of natural food, people and clothes offer.
When I lived in Delhi, I loved visiting all the food stalls at Dilli Haat. I loved the Rajasthani thali with moong daal ka halwa.I loved the Jalojog stall selling all things home. I loved Idli dosa and the Gujarati chaat. I liked Malabar parathas, Hyderabadi ย Biryani, and the northeastern momos and dumplings. Food in India is a tapestry of deliciousness.
When I first read Indiaโs history in school, I realized it was a beautiful melting pot of cultures, thoughts, and religions. I am a woman born in Independent India and in West Bengal. Growing up I was never told, I can’t do this or that. The only time my mum regretted not having a son(at least that’s what she said). was when things had to be bought late at night. Even then, it wasn’t safe to be out late at night. But strangely enough, I managed to grow up and become a doctor, coming home late at night without any major scares. The scare however now is significant. Not only because I am a woman, but I am a doctor. Every second someone is harassing a woman or beating up a doctor. Can anyone do any work when there’s a risk to life?
On a lighter note, this is our #Thankful Thursdays. Counting blessings make me feel more at peace. I feel thankful , that I had the independence to study what I wanted, with gender not being a deterrent.
I am glad can drive a car and have a license. Many countries in the world don’t allow females to drive.
I am glad I have a right in every decision in my marriage and my marital status, is in no way controlled by the state or by religious police.
I am glad I have a right to vote. Women still fight for that right in some countries.
I am glad our country is secular and appreciates the truth about the right to practice all religions.
I am also glad my countrymen are not afraid to stand up for what they believe in.
Simple things which we take for granted, don’t but important for those don’t enjoy the same privileges. It’s easy to ask for our rights, what’s difficult is doing our duties. Focussing on the nays makes them stronger, so I consciously decide to focus on the good.

Update Amazon’s Alexa rank disappeared and so did my friend Alexa blogging challenge .So right now theres no Alexa rank .On May 1, 2022, Amazon shut down Alexa Internet and subsequently discontinued Alexa Rank.
Itโs time for MyfriendAlexa again. Oh if you donโt know what am I talking about, I will go back to when it all started. Back in 2016, I was pretty clueless. I read a lot of blogs and books but was living under a rock, when it came to the Indian Blogging scene. Then one day by Gods grace I had stumbled upon something called Half marathon by Blogchatter and also signed up for something called the MyFriendALexa! But this challenge has nothing to do with the Amazon Alexa devices. But it does have something to do with the Alexa rank of a blog.
Can you cheat the Alexa rank?
Content creators are forever trying to drive traffic to their blogs. Alexa claims to account for all controversial practices of skewering the rank. The better you get at fudging data, the better are their AI.
Why I participate in My Friend Alexa
It pushes me, inspires me and gets my writing inertia all pumped up. In all the years, I have participated in this challenge I have always learned something new. I have even written a book about blogging challenges including My friend Alexa.
It’s serious fun. Serious because it’s not for the faint-hearted and definitely not for anyone who is blogging to relax. MFA is not going to help you relax! Know this beforehand so that you can avoid stressing later /Its very important to know what you want from your blogging journey. Personal satisfaction by writing and sharing has nothing to do with numbers but if you want to help people through your words then numbers help you know whether you are going in the right direction.
Number 2
Its great discipline to read and write regularly. You find a new readership for your blog. Blogchatter actively promotes the hashtag and your blog posts get a fresh set of eyes. The Blogchatter team is exceptional in its community-building effort and is easily one of the best around.
The resources they share inside the FB group often has high profile experts giving super tips which are hard to get.
Number 4
Your Alexa rank becomes better and is a great boost to morale. The best part is when someone wants to work with and checking your Alexa its a good way of knowing what kind of traffic numbers you have. Itโs also a great way of knowing a little about the blog you are reading.
Blogging in India
For this, you do need the Alexa toolbar installed on your browser though. If you writing good content, optimizing them and promoting your blogs posts your Alexa will already bye good. But we all have scope for improvement, right? Its always good to have different stats for comparison.

In all the drama about Jammu and Kashmir, everyone forgot the new baby. Ladakh is our baby UT. Beautiful Ladakh never wanted to be ignored. Their development, their developmental, political aspirations were stamped under lack of political will.
Beautiful people, a cold dessert, but the language was not recognized, the identity was confusing. An unforgettable land where people wanted the same things as you and me. They wanted to feel like they belonged, wanted to build a better future. But they lacked so many things which you and I took for granted. A good school Good colleges Good University Good hospitals. Work opportunity and a better life seemed to be on the other side, just beyond their reach. No one talked about them, it was always the happening next-door neighbor. The neighbor controlled everything. The purse-string and the fruitation of their aspirations.
BJP MP from Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal speaks in Parliament on Article 370
Article 370meant only people of J and K could work in J and K.Even in central jobs only people of J and K could be posted.
I was surprised that the beautiful roads in Leh were empty. The shops were basic. Talking to people we realized the terrain made for a low population, but jobs and entrepreneurship help was even lesser.
370 had to go. Doing the same things for seventy years, yielded roughly the same result. It’s time to make a change .Adapting to change and embracing the new today is a good idea, just like Ladakh did. I sincerely hope all the politicians who are busy causing chaos over J and K, realize this. Their children were educated outside Kashmir. If they cared about J and K ‘S people, they would have focussed on building schools, colleges, and hospitals and stopped the stone-throwing business long back. A few people with vested interest tried destroying the youth for their petty gains. Terrorism helped make a few rich in J and K. If you trace their trajectory and their wealth, you will find the answer to why J and K had so much trouble.
Many wrongs doesn’t make a right!

In Ladakh, we stayed at the Grand Dragon. A stunning hotel whose staff helped us get settled down. Our trip was of very short duration and acclimatization needs time. I was already under the weather and on the way I wrote this post. Those cold stark mountains. The views of the snow-capped mountains looked close by. But was far away. Ladakh is far away. So is Jammu and Kashmir, but now is the time to help the people in whichever way we can.
I hear you. You want to help. Now you can. Keep your eyes open that when you can you can. Help open educational and healthcare institutions.
Article 370 and Ladakh
Social justice prosperity and peace takes a long time. But a start is needed. We started finally after so many years of Independence Ladakh will finally have a voice. As Marie Forleo famously says
Everything is Figureoutable!
Marie Forleo
, It’s important to have the political will and the inner strength, that only optimism brings. There will always be naysayers, you need to focus on the big picture of a united India! Faiths and religions are not above humanity. Human aspirations everywhere are the same! I wonder why no one is talking about what the people of Ladakh want? Is their voice not important too?
We want peace, harmony and our children to be happy, healthy and well-fed and have wisdom. That needs some work and now we can say India remembers and just time doesnโt make wrongs right! Neither does multiple wrongs make right. Finally, India stopped paying the price for past mistakes. Its time to make some changes. For the better!
A few days back I was asked to write about the nutrition mythsthat bamboozle us from everywhere. I had just finished writing my sixth book on Nutrition Diet Myths and Life (It’s free for download on the 9th,10th and 11th of August) and this was a good way of putting the word out.
As a doctor whenever I write medicines for any illness people ask me what they should eat ? This was the case from the time we started our clinical rotation. The favorite being anaar ka juice or pomegranate. While itโs an excellent fruit and very tasty, itโs definitely not the only thing you should be eating when sick. But today I will not tell you about nutrition myths. You can read it by downloading my books below.

I will not tell you what to eat and what not. Instead, I will tell you what your body says when you eat something which is not good for you. But remember, this only works if you have an active conscious and your thyroid gland is active.
When you took a second helping of fried and extra spicy drumsticks. When you just finished an extra heavy dinner at midnight.
When your tooth started tingling and you had a headache after eating that chocolate bar.
When you had a constant sour taste in the mouth.
When you couldn’t swallow, because of that burning sensation in your throat.
The bloating and burn in the pit of the stomach and those sleepless nights will all tell you if your diet and lifestyle is working for you. You donโt need anyone else to tell you that. But a little timely reminder may just make you look closer. The question is what will you do after you have looked?
Will you make some changes? Will you take out another health insurance? Will you eat fresher and better ? Will you start exercising?
Life is for you to enjoy, why would you want to work hard, save your money for only buying medicines? Shouldnโt you take care of your body today, so that your health needs the support of nutrients and not medicines?
Ignore the myths about Probiotic that ads sell! This book is free on Kindle unlimited:Enjoy freedom from bad nutrition advice!
Can you do this for your body? If thatโs a decision you donโt want to take thatโs fine. I am sure Big Pharma will thank you. But not your body. Wake up and do the right thing.
Now some Bad Nutrition Advice which needs breaking
1)Diet cola is good: Not 2)Skipping food groups is good for you: Not 3)Skip carbohydrates: You definitely shouldn’t get rid of all complex carbs from your diet as they provide a lot of benefits. It’s the simple sugars which you should skip. 4)Anyone can give diet and nutrition advice: Not 5)Processed food from organic brands are great: Not 6)You can just take supplements instead of a balanced diet: Not
How to check whether its Bad Nutrition advice?
1)It’s given by someone who shows no proof of their qualifications. 2)Shared by someone with no authority to share health advice. 3)Their research is sketchy. 4)They make it look too easy. 5)They will promote a food type, food group or food product specifically. 6)You will need to spend money to get advice.
What have you done for your health this year? Write to me in the comments below.
Do you trust your gutfeeling? That inner voice that’s lurking deep inside? That indescribable instinct, which goes by names like insight, inner voice, guiding light, and soul talk? You should but with a few corollaries.
Scientifically your gut has the alimentary, nervous system (second brain) which secretes neurochemicals, just like your brain does. The Vagus nerve is the tenth cranial nerve, and it connects your enteric nervous system with your brain. The gut is also the location of serotonin secretion, an important neurochemical responsible for moods and mental health. Though it’s a neurotransmitter, 90% of Serotonin is secreted in the brain and is an important neurochemical helping in communication between the neurons of the digestive train and your brain. That’s why what you eat can and will change how you feel. The relation between diet and depression is real.
Thus, gut instinct or gut feeling is not hocus-pocus, but a good way of keeping your digestive system healthy, overall good health and brain health, avoiding trouble, and finding peace.
The left and right vagus nerves control the majority of the function of your parasympathetic system and monitor the coordination between your brain, gut, and heart. The parasympathetic system helps your body work in daily life when not in a battle. The sympathetic is responsible for fight and flight while the parasympathetic works at rest, repairing and digesting parts of the body. Both are important for a healthy body and mind.
The gut bacteria is another important player in this gut-brain partnership. The healthy family of gut microbes. Not only keep your gut healthy but also your mind healthy.
Have you ever felt better as soon as you saw the sun shining? The sunlight has amazing, rejuvenating properties. It gives us the much-needed barometer to differentiate light and darkness. In your life too, the light comes with grey and dark times. At all times, “, you do need a source of light. The more light you have, the less of those grey zones. Having someone special brightens up your life and lets you know that the person is special. But there can be many other relationships that light up your life. But how will you know? Will you let your gut help?
Gut feeling, instinct or sixth sense?is it even scientific?
One of the most important things is to find out how your gut feels. But being your own guiding light can be difficult. But when things are dark, remember You are on this earth for a reason. What you do is important. What you say is important. What you think and feel is very important.
When your gut feeling agrees with what is right for you, there should be harmony inside. That’s inner peace. As a child growing up, I struggled with balance and peace. But my guiding light always seems to find friends who help me stay on course. Unless I chose not to listen and do what I wanted to do, rather than what felt right.
This mistake, I have made this two major times in my life and by God’s grace have survived to learn from it. Both were different circumstances, but in both cases, I was reacting, not acting. Not talking to my inner self, not trusting my gut. Any decision that will cause chaos in areas of your life, like health and wealth is a recipe for disaster.
From chaos, you must create space to find your peace
Healthwealthbridge.com
Any decision that has the potential to affect your near and dear ones negatively, directly or indirectly needs to be well thought out till you find the rainbow.
The question will always be, will you survive the storms in good enough condition to appreciate the rainbow? When in doubt about what to choose first, I keep myself calm and my health as the first priority If I cannot be strong, healthy, and at peace inside, I can’t help anyone! As a doctor, that’s something I hold dear.
How to keep your Gut Feeling Good
Eat right, exercise daily, and sleep at least seven to eight hours every day . Avoid processed, over-spicy, oily, and too-sweet food and also nonsugar sweeteners. This helps your gut healthy and your gut’s ability to work is at its prime. Include probiotics in your diet and avoid stress . Remember to include nature and play in your daily schedule.
How to find your gut feeling
Remember all the troubles you got into. Now, remember what helped you find solutions. Remember all your successes. Now try to chart out how you did what you did. Sometimes research, talking to friends and family, and your gut feeling, all help create your guiding light. While you should find this part at least in your adolescent, it’s never too late.
Now, remember all the people who make you feel happy, contented, and good about yourself. How long have you known them? What do you like about them? What do you dislike? Why do you get along well? How did you find these people gold in your life? How long have you known them? What do you like about them? What don’t you like? Why do you get along well? How did you find these golden nuggets in your life?
Chaotic, adventurous, unpredictable people make good company, for moments not for this marathon called life. From chaos, you must create space to find your peace. Sometimes it’s you, sometimes, it’s your friends, family, business partners, neighbors, and the Kirana store person who is creating the chaos. But do you step into it or not? That my dear friend is in your hand? Just swoosh your wand and pick your battles or not. As one of my favorite people, a.k.a husband recently said,
Let’s choose peace, Happiness is coming along with her!

At the end of the day, it’s you who decides how to use your gut feeling and your rational thinking and make the right decision. Your right brain helps with identifying things that fit a pattern , like Jane Marple (Miss Marple of Agatha Christie used to say “So and so reminds me of so and so” This article is an excellent resource to help you.
