Today I want to talk about a crucial communicable disease. That of systemic abuse and violence against doctors. The unfortunate suicide of the late Dr.Archana Sharma puts forward the mental harassment and risks that doctors all over India face.
You must remember Rabindranath Tagore’s “Ekla Chalo re”.If no one listens to you, when you call, walk your own path. That’s crucial for doctors as a community now. Walk as a community together, even if no other section of the community helps you. It’s important that we work together and raise awareness about the social evil that is unleashed with abuse against doctors.
As a citizen you must know the difference between negligence and known complications. You must know your legal rights in case you feel wronged. But violence against the doctor puts your health at risk. Why would you want to do that?
I wrote about this in my LinkedIn newsletter today .Share this post if you understand the problem.
