I am a fan of walking for a very long time. In Kolkata, where I grew up, the Rabindrosarobar Lake was close by .This meant going for walks around the lake was a fun pass time which never lost its flavor.I walked with my parents, my sister, my friends and special people . Some time back,I met Anupriya another blogger friend for a walking date at that place.Walking is full of memories.
The best part about walking is it’s easy. The next best thing is, it works for almost everyone. Whatever your age walking is one of the most straightforward exercises to start anywhere anytime.
Previously it was promoted as 30 minutes, three times a day. But now most research suggest, the best practice is 40 minutes daily of moderate speed walking.

Love your post here, so important! People do need to know walking is as beneficial as running or jogging. I am going to link to your article if it okay- in my blog post today because I was going to write about measuring our steps- two and four legged alike (our steps and our dogs steps). I am so passionate about running the right way or walking the right way with your dog by your side and keeping your dog included in your healthy lifestyle I am trying to build a career around it and become the expert of experts on the topic. I want to work with brands like Fit Bit and Fit Bark and because of my PTSD and my love of moving we’ll say- I choose to workout at home with my dogs to have to leave my house less. Long story, there! So I also want to work with brands like PetSite treadmills and DogPacer Treadmills and Confidence treadmills and my Doga mentor to bring health and wellness to people and their pets at home- not to mention V-Dog and other vegan based dog foods!

Hubby and I like to walk through a few nature parks in our area, it’s beautiful, relaxing and easy to walk an hour without realizing it. When Lia is out with us, she does it double the mileage because she runs ahead then runs back to pop and me to see if the old coots are on the way. LOL

My friend and I are starting a new walking practice tomorrow. Because we live far apart, we are going to call each other and walk with our phones connected. We’re starting small AND It feels so important to do this!
