It’s not that time of the year without talking about Durga puja, worshipping and feeling thankful.
We celebrate Durga puja by welcoming Goddess Durga, with all her four children. Most of the time we are praying to the mother goddess. But we never forget, that the mother is fiercely protective and is never afraid of banishing evil and fighting when everyone else fails.
It’s not that time of the year without, planning your festival wardrobe. While I like dressing up , the shopping and trial room is something I could live without. The problem is, there’s no way you can buy everything online. This is especially true for Durga puja dress up. That’s why I have stopped trying. I pray every year that magically my outfits get coordinated and I have more or less good hair and skin day.
I don’t even want to talk about beauty parlour woes.
It’s not that time of the year without buying gifts for family and friends. This year I finally opened the Amazon shop to showcase all the things I like to buy for myself and gift. Reviews are great, but this I felt was a good way to give a shoutout to good brands and also share good products with my readers.
Durga Puja is always about praying . But it’s also about food. Eating phuchka, egg roll, biriyani and gorging all sorts of delicious sweets and mishit doi. Bengali Durga puja and all other festivals are incomplete without food taking center stage. While the rest of the country especially north India fasts for Navratri our fasting and feasting are definitely different. From luchi aludom to luchi ghugni, from Ashtami niramish thali (veg) to nabamir aamish thali (nonveg) , food is a part of worship as well as celebrations.
It’s not that time of the year without planning the pandal hopping. Plan you must depend on your stamina to fight crowds. Don’t miss Deshapriya park, Samaj Sebi, Ballygunj cultural, Maddox square, Ekdalia evergreen, and Singhi park if you are visiting south Kolkata,we may just bump into each other.
The artisans working at the various pumas, work day and night to showcase their talent. The creativity and expertise of these gorgeous pandals are mind boggling. But what’s even more surprising are the different Maa durga idols .All look happy, benevolent and alive! They smile down at us mere mortals trying to get a glimpse of their divine presence.
Its that time of the year when you plan a holiday to recover from the Durga puja excesses. This time we are visiting Arunachal .
Its that time of the year when the air turns cooler. Mornings are crisp and cold and the air conditioner is turned off and cozy blankets and razais are taken out to be aired.
It’s the season of fluffy clouds, beautiful blue skies and a nip in the air. This is the season which has the beautiful feathery Kash Phool welcoming Maa Durga while swaying in the breeze

How is the Health of the Nation: The report is an eye-opener!
It’s not that time of the year without feeling nostalgic about the year rushing by and trying to wind it up gracefully without stressing. When you just want to relax and enjoy meeting friends, family and chatting with them. Life, after all, needs to be savored and embraced. While dreams, goals, and plans are always important, so is making memories and cherishing them.
