Janmashtami celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna. The Eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu was born to rid the world of the burden of evil in the Dvapara age. We desperately need an avatar now!
Lord Krishna is a favorite God. Something about his sayings strikes a chord in everyone. He not only takes care of wrongdoers, but he also does it with style. In this strife-ridden world, his wisdom is often what helps me find my path.
Shri Krishna Janmashthami Quotes which will change how you live
Why do you worry unnecessarily? Whom do you fear? Who can kill you? The soul is neither born nor dies
-Lord Krishna
This is an eternal worry for everyone. You worry about living dying and disease. But if you think deeply, it’s a cycle of life and it is a mirage. The real work happens inside your soul which is ageless. Your next life depends on the journey your soul undergoes, in this one.
Man is made by his beliefs. As he believes so he is!
-Lord Krishna
Develop the right attitude towards your job, then the most mundane becomes a source of joy!
Both the above quotes stress on the war inside your mind. If you can control your thoughts, you can improve your life.
The biggest truth is worthless if it hurts.
-Lord Krishna

The austerity of speech means speaking truthfully and beneficially and avoiding speech that offends.
You are often tempted to say the truth with the excuse that it’s the truth. But in all the countries including India where Freedom of speech is given, that right is never absolute it has several corollaries. The speech which is meant to hurt, spread hate, malign, offend and or disrespect or defame someone can be grounds for prosecution. Even if it’s the truth it’s not a defense in a court of law!
Restrictions (Article 19 Clause 2 of the Constitution source
Under Indian law, the freedom of speech and of the press do not confer an absolute right to express one’s thoughts freely. Clause (2) of Article 19 of the Indian constitution enables the legislature to impose certain restrictions on free speech under following heads:
security of the State,
friendly relations with foreign States,
public order,
decency and morality,
contempt of court,
defamation
incitement to an offense, and
sovereignty and integrity of India.
There’s a reason for responsible speech, by public persons and each of us. Good speech and bad speech all create a ripple effect!
No one who does good work will ever come to a bad end, either here or in the world to come”
-Lord Krishna
To be able to help is a divine blessing but in order to help the person needs to be ready to receive the help too!
-Lord Krishna
You cannot forcefully help people. That’s why whenever you help those in need, it’s important they ask for help. Because what you may think they need and what they actually need or want, maybe two different things. Sometimes forcefully upliftment and helping, may cause more harm than good. All will carve their destiny, from the inside out!
“Curving back within myself I create again and again.”- Anonymous, The Bhagavad Gita
With self-discovery and self-improvement, can one truly evolve. When each person improves the world at large improves. Each and every action that you do intrinsically has one true goal.
The true goal of action is, knowledge of the Self.
-Lord Krishna
“I am the Self in the heart of every creature, Arjuna, and the beginning, middle, and end of their existence” (10:20).”- Ved Vyasa, The Bhagavad Gita
-Lord Krishna
Divinity is within every living being. Its the magic part, called life. When you appreciate and love life and living being you serve God. The world as you and I see it is a reflection of whats in your mind. Your choices and actions shape your life and destiny and so is that with each one of us.
Thus the Gita places human destiny entirely in human hands. Its world is not deterministic, but neither is it an expression of blind chance: we shape ourselves and our world by what we believe and think and act on, whether for good or for ill.”- Krishna-Dwaipayana Vyasa, The Bhagavad Gita
The power of your mind, your belief is what makes you.
Reshape yourself through the power of your will; never let yourself be degraded by self-will. The will is the only friend of the Self, and the will is the only enemy of the Self. (6:5)”-
Veda Vyasa, The Bhagavad Gita
The power of thoughts and how you behave with others is also how you treat your soul because every action leaves a residue!
“Just as a seed can grow into only one kind of tree, thoughts can produce effects only of the same nature. Kindness to others, to take just one example, favors a nervous system that is kind to itself.
― Krishna-Dwaipayana Vyasa, The Bhagavad Gita
The one advice which can change your life if you understand it deeply. Choose carefully because what appears as sweet may be poisonous and what tases bitter may be nectar!
“Now listen, Arjuna: there are also three kinds of happiness. By sustained effort, one comes to the end of sorrow. That which seems like poison at first, but tastes like nectar in the end – this is the joy of sattva, born of a mind at peace with itself. The pleasure from the senses seems like nectar at first, but it is bitter as a poison in the end. This is the kind of happiness that comes to the rajasic. Those who are tamasic draw their pleasures from sleep, indolence, and intoxication. Both in the beginning and in the end, this happiness is a delusion.”
― Krishna-Dwaipayana Vyasa, The Bhagavad Gita
What you do, will have an effect. Everything that happens is tied up in a thread. While life and death are a mirage what you feel, is a Karmic result!
“The law of karma states simply that every event is both a cause and an effect. Every act has consequences of a similar kind, which in turn have further consequences and so on; and every act, every karma, is also the consequence of some previous karma. This”
― Krishna-Dwaipayana Vyasa, The Bhagavad Gita
The soul is timeless and eternal. It is never destroyed. It just gets dressed up in new clothes with time. Life, death and everything in between happens simultaneously in a parallel universe.
“And because the soul has no birth, he, therefore, has no past, present or future. He is eternal, ever-existing, and primeval – that is, there is no trace in history of his coming into being. Under the impression of the body, we seek the history of birth, etc., of the soul.”
― A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda, Bhagavad-gita As It Is
I read the Gita before my daughter was born. My mom gifted it to me. Its not easy to understand or know completely. A relative said why are you reading the Gita when you are pregnant? It’s full of difficult choices and decisions. My hubby said Gita has everything your life has and everyone else ’s. It’s not only our spiritual guide its also a soul guide.
If what’s inside and what’s outside, don’t merge you will never understand happiness, love, and peace.Because all these three comes when the people around you feel the same towards you.A difficult journey inside but well worth it!
“The word dharma means many things, but its underlying sense is “that which supports,” from the root dhri, to support, hold up, or bear. Generally, dharma implies support from within: the essence of a thing, its virtue, that which makes it what it is.”
― Krishna-Dwaipayana Vyasa, The Bhagavad Gita
The one Krishna advice that gets me into trouble
