I started podcasting in 2018 and the best part about starting a podcast was the fun I had reaching people all over the world.
You may ask me –
“but blogs do that too”!
My answer-
“Yes they do .But people are bombarded with information from everywhere and the information overload is real. With podcasts people can listen while doing housework ,traveling or exercising. Audio helps make my content accessible. With Google Chrome making audio version of websites easy ,is podcasting still relevant?”
Before I answer that, a little context.I am a big podcast listener. It helps me catch up with my favorite podcasters even on crazy weeks.
I realized I like listening to real voices and not AI voices even though they sound pleasant .It’s probably because they remind me a little about the Prime series Person of interest. Scary scenario with AI makes me feel weird listening to those voices. Its always very fake.I can’t pinpoint exactly but there’s something just a little off !
Bridging that gap is the reason humans will continue to podcast because there are more people like me(I am sure).

This is a #AI research post about Podcasting in India and internationally.I started podcasting in 2018 ,when it wasn’t even a thing.I wrote a short guide for beginner podcasters to get started without overwhelm on a budget. That was then. Now its a different story.
Podcasting in India doesn’t follow the usual international trends .Many topics podcasters make news style or interview style podcasts with Bollywood stars/influencers,star health coaches ,sports stars …you get the drift?Tooting my own horn ,I am on the feedspot list of top Doctors podcasting/health podcasters and women podcasting in India.
News podcasting or real information is hard to get from the oohs and aahs of social media adoration. In the drama of looking intense and trending many fall of the bandwagon. The poster child of that podcasting drama was ” beer biceps who had a good thing going but turned out to be shallower than a tea spoon if water. He wanted to be cool while being intensely privileged or may be he had bad PR people.Theres a thing called editing and some people don’t understand they have a good thing.

Includes: creator & listener demographics, categories with strongest earning potential, monetization pathways, technology stack, future trends โ and a curated Top 10 Health podcasts in India (with Feedspot sourcing).
Podcasting is no longer a niche hobby โ itโs mainstream audio entertainment and a maturing creator economy. India is one of the fastest-growing podcast markets globally: recent industry reports estimate over 100 million listeners in India in 2024 with rapid growth projected into 2025โ2030, while international markets (US, China, much of Europe, Latin America) show steady, high-per-capita listenership and more developed monetization ecosystems. This paper compares the two ecosystems, identifies the highest-opportunity categories (including health), and offers tactical advice for creators and organizations aiming to scale.

This brief synthesizes public industry reports (Edison Research / The Infinite Dial, national industry summaries), market forecasts (India market reports), platform/creator resources (Spotify creator materials), and curated podcast directories (Feedspot). For the โTop 10 Health podcasts in Indiaโ list we relied on Feedspotโs curated lists and cross-checked podcast availability on major platforms. Where possible I cite primary industry numbers for the largest claims.
Takeaway: India = explosive audience growth (especially regional languages); Global = larger ad markets and more mature monetization pathways.
Implication: India creators should prioritize mobile distribution, short/episodic formats, and regional languages; international creators can rely more on longer-form shows and diversified revenue from ads and subscriptions.
Across markets, ad revenue and listener willingness to pay concentrate around a few categories:
High-potential categories (global & India overlap but vary in order):
Note: Category value depends on advertiser demand in the market โ e.g., finance and business sell well in high-income markets; consumer brands and edtech are strong sponsors in India.
Creators worldwide now use multiple revenue streams โ diversification is key.
Primary monetization models:
India specifics: CPMs currently lower than the US, but large scale vernacular audiences and niche verticals (health, parenting, regional entertainment) offer strong sponsorship and direct-customer opportunities.
A modern podcasting tech stack generally includes:
Recommendation: Indian creators should plan for mobile-first audio, repurpose content to short-form video snippets for YouTube/Instagram, and track engagement via host platform analytics.
Below is a practical, listener-friendly top 10 (ordered as per Feedspotโs curated lists and cross-checked across platform listings). This list is intended for readers who want a quick sampler of the health podcast landscape in India.
Notes: These titles are curated from Feedspotโs โIndia Health Podcastsโ and โIndia Doctor Podcastsโ pages and represent a mix of clinical, wellness, mental health, and parent/child-focused shows. Feedspotโs curation considers factors like engagement, freshness, and influence.

One in 3 people has the risk of developing Shingles. That’s what the CDC says. But why do you need to know this? If you or a relative is aged fifty or more, it’s a good idea to get vaccinated and you must have seen Big B talk about it on the television. But let’s start from the beginning. There are many strange articles and misinformation online about this disease.
Tldr:First of all, it’s not a STD or sexually transmitted disease .Second, it’s a viral disease and caused by the same virus that causes chicken pox, but Shingles occur most commonly in old age.
According to Harrison Internal Medicine, Varicella Zoster is a virus which causes two distinct clinical presentations :chicken pox and Shingles.
Chicken pox is most common in children and has characteristic vesicular rash while Shingles occur as dermatomal rash in specific parts of body .Chicken pox in adults is a serious disease and may have extensive systemic involvement and complications.Incidentally vaccination exists even for chicken pox where like all other vaccines one may get infected still but the expression and clinical disease may limit severity.
You remember I mentioned chicken pox also known as the Varicella zoster virus? If that virus getting reactivated in old age Shingles(Herpes Zoster) is what happens.According to the medical science these chicken pox virus stays sleeping or dormant in the nerve cells and during episodes of immune suppression weakness gets reactivated and starts giving you trouble. They characteristically have a burning sensation associated with skin lesions along the area of distribution of that nerve and make life difficult .It causes a dermatomal rash The regular painkillers don’t work and prevention is the best policy .
They may suffer multiple episodes with waxing and waning i between with itching ,tingling ,burning sensation in specific areas associated with rashes. The rash can appear on the third to fifth day with or without fever. The herpetic neuralgia or pain is difficult to manage and is one of the main reason behind poor quality of life.
In my ENT clinic, Ear manifestation of Shingles present as earache with rashes over the pinna and in the ear canal .
Statistics:
India : A million cases of Shingles each year.Incidence of 705 per million population per year. In USA approximately 1 out of 3 people develop herpes zoster during their lifetime Shingles, and about half of people over age eighty have had shingles. The Shingles vaccine for people above 50 years is a good way to ensure no trouble from this virus .
So when can Shingles occur? In people above 50 years of age having any cause of immune suppression, because of disease or drugs.Like HIV,Cancer treatment,Cancer itself, autoimmune disease, diabetes, severe cardiac ,liver or kidney disease .Any disease which over powers your immune system can cause Shingles. So the best way to prevent it ,is to have healthy habits, eat nutritious food and get vaccinated on time.
2 doses needed at a gap of two to six month.Protection is said to be for ten years ;Age group-Above 50 years.India has 260 million people above 50 years who can be saved from a disease causing poor quality of life with a vaccine.
Who should get vaccinated?
At-risk group.Age greater than fifty. Those who have suffered one episode of shingles. Those who received a chicken pox vaccine previously.
Consult your doctor for checking whether you are eligible for the vaccine. This is not a replacement for a medical consultation and is strictly for the purpose of awareness.Though we try to keep updates current, since medical science is a rapidly evolving field, inadvertent additions and omissions while unfortunate is occasionally unavoidable .The author or the website under no circumstances will be held liable for the same.Kindly consult a health care provider for personalized vaccine recommendations

Under the influenceย byย Malini Agarwal is a book I read last week. Its about theย influence of digital media on how we behave and what can be improved for a beautiful digital legacy.
The tagline “How to Survive and Thrive Online and aย quote by Kusha Kapila on the book cover, aptly sums up the book by saying, “the one who knew influence before influencers were a thing.”
That’s true because Iย ย read the first book by Miss Malini when I started blogging .She has really worked hard at building the business she has built.
Her first book was How I blogged my way to Bollywood a very rags to riches inspiration.
But as the saying goes, it’s not what you know but who you know and Miss Malini has tweaked it by making it not only about who, but also what and how and bringing it all together to build a unique business.ย
A guide to being good online in the age of the shiny social media where its only about the rhetorics not the truth.
Don’t do anything online you wouldn’t do or say offline
My favorite part was about creating the social media legacy. That’s what I believe too and it’s not just sm(social media) legacy but a digital legacy. Here’s my digital legacy.
I like jumping on sm trends but somehow never did Snapchat or Tiktok.I liked how Malini talks about the generations and laughed out loud when I read we millennial (Yes,I am a millennial) have intuitive knowledge of tech, can work as professional shoppers online and like work life balance and QOL is our thing.Well she definitely nailed that one.
But before I get carried away giving away all the content .I must say Miss Malini is not just an influencer. She is THE Influencer reaching demigod status with her pen and her work .
I am also a part of her Good creator APP, which was previously the Miss Malini tribe app, which shows promise (hope it gets even better).Imagine your child Googling you one day and reading about you.Is there anything you wish you didn’t do?That’s one of the biggest takeaways if you are a parent who blogs!
Crucial thing to remember going forward. Plus the internet has no rules.
If you are a creator ,earning online or considering earning online this book is your internet-etiquette must read, that will save you headache, heartache and money (from avoiding litigation costs).Remember even freedom of speech has rules to be followed. Because in a world where anarchy rules, nothing thrives. The internet is a gift to mankind, treat it well and remember you are creating a digital footprint for generations to come.Make it good .
Forever is a series of Nows
