Writing a letter to the Universe?Does it work?
I wrote this blog post several years back ,but I think this is something that needs revisiting. You cannot ignore the power of your own mind.If you can dream it and plan it(and it doesn’t harm anyone),you can do it.
I dreamt of gardening, trees and my own kitchen garden and since 2021 it’s happening a little bit at a time.Its wild when I think about it ,but true .

Leadership Dilemma
Do you see yourself as a leader?
Growing up my mom used to tell me ,
“you must study hard and be disciplined, otherwise how will you set a good example for your sister?”
That was a very interesting parenting method.It worked on me and since having a lovely little sister was the absolute best thing in my life back then.I wanted to be a very good “didi”.
I wanted to be a shining light in her life.
I wanted to be “holier than thou”.
I wanted to have unquestioning loyalty.
Luckily it didn’t quite work out that way and we ended up inspiring each other,helping each other grow stronger ,more educated and finding our own paths in life keeping each other honest and sane.
I believe I have leadership skill and so do you.But whether we can stand up and lead when the time comes for us to fight the right battle ,that will be the true test of our mettle.
The world will be a better place with good and strong leaders .If the world appears not so right ,remember your leadership is representative of your position. If it’s not morally and legally correct it’s not the right leadership.
In the investigation of the heinous brutal rape and murder incident at RGKAR hospital the entire community in West Bengal is protesting for Justice.
But none of our chosen people’s representative were able to answer the questions the people have .
The police heads were unable to lead the investigation fairly .
The CBI submitted in Supreme Court about there being crime scene tampering and deliberate attempts at cover up.In a scenario like this,what kind of leadership would make the people feel safe and help us trust the process of Justice?
That’s the kind of leadership that I would want.
This race for justice is a Marathon not sprint.Its not for the faint hearted or those with weak morals.The first will stop and the next one will deflect/resist/not start or be doing what-aboutery .Bangali’s have been gaslighted for so long that some of us start believing the abuser. That’s the classic technique of narcissistic personalities.No accountability, no regret and will make you feel it’s your fault that they had to beat you up!

Things I am holding a grudge about
Yes I am holding a grudge against the system and the enablers who made it possible to kill the young doctor at RGKar brutally.
On my part I left a job where the work was brutal .The doctors are treated like slaves .No toilets,rest rooms, inadequate support staff many of whom are part of a racket where no-work only-pay is the norm.
I have worked and lived in Delhi in a Central Government hospital.Have experience of using loos at Lady Hardinge,MAMC,GTB ,AIIMS ,Safdarjung. No where is it as bad as in West Bengal .It’s sad I have to say it but that’s the horrible truth.
The central government is approaching Supreme Court for the lack of basic facilities for CISF posted at RG Kar.Imagine that’s where doctors are working too.
How is it possible to be healthy if there’s no cleanliness?

What happened at RGKar…
Rape anywhere,murder anywhere needs to be strictly punished.But what happens when this crime happens at a hospital?To someone who is on 36 hours duty, expected to eat and sleep minimally and give her best to help heal a patient ,never expects to be killed.She didn’t sign up for the army,she signed up to become a doctor. She didn’t want to be the police…she wanted to become a doctor.She wanted to catch some sleep ,she didn’t want to sleep for eternity.
How will women hold up half the sky if we can’t go out into the world safely?
What happened at RG Kar was brutal.
What happened at RG Kar was mind numbing.
What happened at RG Kar should never have happened.
What happened at RG Kar needs exemplary punishment which will cause criminals to have nightmares.
What happened at RG Kar made people of West Bengal come out on the streets.
What happened at RG Kar is a tipping point for law and order in West Bengal. It has shown us the totally lack of it .It has shown us the naked face of unaccountable behavior from law enforcement and the lawmakers.A society which harms those who heal is on the verge of a collapse.
It’s time to clean up the mess,so that our children don’t have to breathe in the foul air .People are standing up,taking a stand,coming together.
Where exactly are we headed?On 5th September there’s a SC hearing.We hope to find our way soon as a society, as human beings.People who kill cannot be allowed to roam free.

Microsoft Crash and the Crowdstrike puzzle
I am not a computer expert nor am I a cybersecurity expert .But sometimes back while watching a NCIS episode on Prime I saw a murder happening by manipulation of the navigation system of a car.Is that scary or what?
This Crowdstrike-Microsoft puzzle/mess/crash is going to be a worrying/interesting thing to follow up.We may or may not ever know the truth.
The worst case scenario
The technical breakdown by a techie which is somewhat understandable.
CEO of Crowdstrike with an apology but not really an explanation!
The best part about this is we realized being connected to a bigger system had certain serious,sudden,complications which ideally should have bee foreseen or managed.
Imagine someone performing a lifesaving surgery maybe robotic surgery hooked onto a system like this and their computer shows the Blue screen!Its not just panic it’s going to be life threatening.
So also planes ,train,transport systems,defense, banks everything.
Apparently Russia wasn’t affected because Microsoft had left them as part of some sanction.
What is Crowdstrike?
It’s a cybersecurity company managing Microsoft’s Cybersecurity all over the world.It manages the entire information technology ecosystem of many companies deducting and preventing cybersecurity attacks,malwares,data breaches etc etc.
But how come their advanced system didn’t detect this outage soon enough?
What happened?
Apparently global outages involved emergency services,major banks ,media houses,airports,stock markets and only they know what else.
Who owns Crowdstrike?
It’s owned by Mr.George Kurtz who is a former McAfee employee
Important to remember
We don’t yet know what happened.
We don’t know what or who caused it.
We don’t know if it will happen in the future.
We don’t know whether we will ever go back to believing a fully connected global system is a good thing.
This is the reason monopoly of systems and services should be avoided and all systems should have backups of backups.In 2024 the problem is unimaginable and gives us an opportunity to put our thinking caps on.Interestingly both companies are based in USA.
This according to Livemint is possibly the largest such “outage” in history and coming so soon after the attack on “Trump” makes me imagine all sorts of conspiracy theories.
Interestingly Crowdstrike has been a part of a conspiracy theory previously and is no stranger to managing difficulties. We hope this “outage” is exactly what they say it is(they are not saying much though) and not something more worrying. Imagine if the same was done by a company based out of a country not-really-friends with USA?How can an update with such power to harm be let loose in the cyber world without multiple points of checking and cross checking and what about accountability?A

Marrying a Friend: Pros plus the Tricky part!
Relationships are always tricky and just like parenting, marriage too is difficult to categorize or handle according to rules. But when you marry a friend, things help somewhat .
Why marry a friend
..and ruin a friendship will be the comment of many a cynical people .But that’s what makes this relationship work .
Despite knowing the odds when people who are friends do get married , they already know the things they like about the person (he is a friend).They also know what they don’t like and probably has already told them about it at great lengths .Despite all this, if your friendship has survived two years or more and you have good chemistry, then it could be a keeper .But there should be no ambivalence about whether you like someone better .
That’s a red flag .If you have a 2 am friend which is not this person then think again. I might be wrong but eventually you would want to let your 2am friend have a life too .That is if you are a good friend and don’t want to destroy their love life.
A friend who marries you,
…marries you after knowing you .
…have seen you behave well and not so well.
…loves you even after seeing you at your worst .
… loves you whole; both for your strength and despite your weakness.
…likes your company .(crucial)
… lets you talk (if you are a talker).
… really listens(or pretends to listen most realistically) most of the time.
The Tricky part
They know you inside out and can probably read your mind too.On a bad day this means they know ,when you really mean what you say.
