When I started painting in 2020 during the lockdown I was riddled by self doubt .How to continue our small private clinical practice ?How to take care of my daughter? How to stay safe as a family? What’s going to happen?
The questions seem to be set in stone for most if us. But things are getting better.Unlike last year ,this year vaccines are available. We know a little more about the COVID19 CCP virus .We know the world needs to heal .We know helping and healing are both two way streets. We know without trust ,no relationships, be it private between individuals or international between Governments can work.
We know our safety needs to be in our hands too.But international organizations must call out bullies and those who don’t play by the rules.
I was just painting because it was so calming.I continued. Many flowers bloom for a day. Then they will wilt, never to bloom again. But they put on their prettiest colours for the world to see. It’s not the quantity of our time on earth but the quality of our time that’s crucial.Making it count is not easy.
I wrote the first book in my Krishna Mishra Mystery series in April 2020.So 2020 inspite of COVID had some serious blessings.
The Library Ghost is my daughter’s new book .
A 2020 #PandemicProject which we had fun doing!
Lessons I am learning from my Watercolour journey.
Trusting the process is magical.
All art is beautiful. It’s the eye for it which is different. Letting go of our inner critique helps us find our happiest self.
With great challenges come great blessings.
When you learn everyday ,you never grow old,but grow wise.
Keeping your hands busy ,keeps your mind busy.
The Practice is the Key to everything Art.
Where the sky meets the sea, that’s magic. When dreams meet reality that’s art .
You can learn from everyone, but choose whom you learn from with care.
The opportunity cost of never finding your own self is immense.
We are all blessed .Believe that.

I love your paintings Amrita! I can see how painting would make you calm and almost work as meditation. When Lia paints she seems to get into a whole different world and focuses on painting only, leaving everything else behind. Hope painting is easing your brain from all the everyday things you do.

Hello Dr. Amrita, I love you watercolor paintings, very creative and beautiful. I am happy to read you found comfort with painting and creating new books with your daughter during Covid. That is so amazing that something positive can blossom out of something negative. Please keep sharing your creations as I will be looking forward to more beauty.
Sending lots of love and gratitude,
Jaime
