I am on X also known as Twitter in a past life .It’s one of the most in your face social media which doesn’t bother about filters and how you look .It’s one of the few social media with almost all national and international leaders in all fields having a presence.
It’s also full of people like you and me and plenty of bots and trolls.Elon Musk the man behind Tesla and X who has famously said he bought Twitter to restore free speech (not quoting verbatim) makes Twitter interesting, to say the least. He doesn’t mind memes and jokes targeting him often, quite unkindly and seems to be invincible atleast on X.
Remember free speech is not limitless ,like Malini Agarwal explains in her book Under the Influence
On 24th October 2024,I will finish my 10th year on X and on 13th October 2024 I will also complete 10 years blogging! I am blogging and tweeting since 2014 and now X-ing !Sustaining something for ten years means it needs looking into.So today’s post is dedicated to my X.
7 Things about X I love
I can catch up on all trending news in India and the world .
I can follow my favorite writers and read what they write and also what they are reading.
I can support causes by X-ing X’s/weets about them.
I share my blog posts on X because since it’s a text first social media, I hope people eill click and read blog posts.
I made friends blogging and the Blogchatter community on X.
I grew my X following with the least bit of trouble.
I learned a lot on X and it has much less repetitive content than on the other social media’s.
One thing About X I don’t like
It’s made monetization possible only if you are a premium member.Imagine creating content for free for so many years and then being treated like this. But what can I say, X is not about money. Its something else.
I hope they realize having an option to monetize is a good way to support creators .
Are you on X ?What do you like and hate about X?
It’s an X post for BlogchatterA2Z and give me a follow on X ,say hi to me(my Twitter handle is @misra_amrita, and do keep in touch .
