Durga Puja comes once a year.People travel from all over the world to visit Kolkata and wherever they are working/living for the big puja pujo, family and lots of food.
While all traditions are religiously celebrated ,we meet up with friends, families, make new friend and maybe increase our circle of influence in a good way.
This year we were lucky enough to spend our days praying to Maa Durga from our home in Kolkata. We just moved in this year with the Griha prabesh (House warming ) pujo a quick event, all the plans we didn’t make happening, made that extra special.
Our apartment complex has the most amazing puja setup and the celebrations are nonstop.
On Sashti we had friends visiting and evening was spent with friends and the cultural programs starting. On Saptami we went for a morning Puja parikrama, visiting Samaj Sebi,Ballygunj Cultural Tridhara,Deshapriya Park and several more before dropping in at Maharaja for tea and breakfast. It was fresh, hot and absolutely fitting the festival vibes, but I couldn’t help wishing the road were kept cleaner by the powers who decide such stuff.
On Saptami more friends came and my sister and my brother-in-law came too.We had around eighteen people dropping in to say hi just on Saptami evening and things got crazy in a good way.
Luckily the food scene was sorted through the food committee at our complex and we just got guest coupons for our friends. The beautiful programmes in the evening by talented kids and their parents made everything extra special.Leaving you with a few pictures while I decide of what to do next.
During Durga Puja it’s about praying to the Goddess to help us grow more powerful so that we can fight evil in whichever way we can.The eternal truth is that Evil must always be fought because if you won’t no one will.If you tolerate evil ,it will come for you one day too.Lets fight the evil around us ,so that the world is safer and better for our children.
