#ThursdayTreeLove:Balcony Garden ideas in India
When I first moved here five years back, the homes in front were bare.Their rooftops had a few plants but balconies which faced me made me sigh. Why didn’t they have a few green plants to grace them?
My hubby insisted there were practical reasons, like letting clothes get sun-dried(that’s more eco-friendly and healthier option than a drier ).But those beautiful sunny balconies lying bare, made my brain go into overdrive.I used to stare at them and imagine how pretty they would look with different plants peeping here and there.
Guess what? The Gods were listening.Though they don’t have a balcony garden, now they have a two story high climber which is bursting with beautiful pink flowers,.They are a pleasure to behold, on hot sultry summer afternoons. My green balcony is always restful, but now I peep outside from between the leaves of my Chikoo tree to see the climbing beauty just across the street. It’s called Madhabilata in Bengali.
Sharing the balcony views from indoor. The first one faces south and the second one faces north (more or less). When the late afternoon sun filters through the green leaves they make me happy.
Enjoy the Garden images from my collection:
When I see a hummingbird dancing from one branch to another, a butterfly sitting on my flowers, a sparrow trying to eat my chikoo.I know it’s all good. Life is supposed to be this way. When you find what you are seeking, things just fit. When they don’t fit, it’s not meant to be. Plants animals, humans and nature needs to live in harmony. That will create the right environment for health, wellness, and prosperity.

#ThankfulThursdays 36 :Thankful for Technology
Living in a small town in West Bengal after spending my entire life in Kolkata and partly in Delhi, I will be lying if I said I had no regrets.I cried my face swollen with nothing to do except work and home. Then magic happened.
God helped me find the one thing(other than Rai )which could make me be happy effortlessly. Thanks to the internet I am able to read as much as I want.I don’t buy magazines, instead, I read blogs and news online. But I still buy books both e-books and the hold-in -your -hand warm new book kinds.
Now with the internet, I not only read but also write, lend my voice and support causes like this.
So today I am thankful to all those who have made the internet possible. Those who make a good connection possible even in the back and beyond.I am grateful for the open source information which helps me.The Internet is a vast treasure trove for people like me who love learning
I am also grateful that I learned to keep my plants alive by reading all the blogs online. There are people who share such valuable information all the time. It’s because of technology I am able to share my tree love with Parul every Thursdays.
I am taking my Blog to the next level with #MyFriendAlexa and Blogchatter.

My Bleeding Heart Vine (#ThursdayTreeLove 20 )
Thursday Tree Love is like Thankfulness. The more you do it, the better it is for your heart and soul.
There’s something about trees which make me happy.
Probably that’s why I end up challenging myself to grow flowers as potted plants, which are almost trees.Like this Bleeding heart. Also known as Glorybower or tropical Bleeding heart.
This species of the Bleeding heart has delicate tendrils which help it grow as a vine.
In a pot up to 3 feet. But in a garden can grow up to 15 feet.It needs partial shade or soft dappled sunlight. That’s why it’s a great houseplant.
How to care for Bleeding heart vine
- Light trimming regularly, helps keep it free from mealy bugs and spider mites.
- You can train it to grow on a trellis and make a pretty canopy.
- It need swell drained soil and grows well as a houseplant in partial shade.
It is a subtropical vine that wraps its tendrils around a trellis or other support. I love it because it has dark green shiny leaves and beautiful crimson and white blooms.
The best part of the flower is the outer white petals. They stay for a very long time after the inner crimson heart falls off. They look so pretty I stare at them and try to find out how they live without their hearts.Have you ever done that?Stare at plants?
Watching pictures of green plants and flowers lower stress. That’s why you should have plant pictures at home even if you can’t have plants.
It works to activate your parasympathetic system .that’s the stress buster part of your nervous system.Nature is great.
