How to know whether you can be a chef full time? You can’t until you actually become a chef plus there’s no simple answer.
Just like I now know, I don’t want to work at anything 24ร7ร365 .Luckily I enjoy being a doctor but not the unnatural unhealthy workload the Government hospitals and Medical Colleges have .Doctor heal thyself made me step back. I couldn’t cope.
I was asked “didn’t you know ,you would have to do this?”.
Honestly at the premium colleges I studied in ,there were many teachers and there was no dearth of faculty .There was a division between the hospital and the medical education side, which is required, as patient care is impossible to juggle with anything else. But I digress I wanted to share about the site culinaryschool.org which gives a very interesting list of culinary schools.
A very close relative ,who was passionate about cooking , wanted to study hotel management and a weird older sister told her that it was too much work since the training starts at the bottom.
If there were sites like the culinaryschools.org it would help.Maybe all career options should have online and offline try-it-out or internship options too ,before you make the choice which can make or break you.
While real life is always better ,sometimes we don’t ever want to try dangerous things, unsuitable or unsustainable carrers, harmful food and that’s why knowing what works for you, what’s junk and what’s not must start early.Good food and junk needs to be strictly separated and kids do learn great with play.
The many games on the culinary schools site are fun ,entertaining and informative, while the extensive Directory of schools are a treasure trove.
Fitness Food run is one such game ,which I played to check whether it actually made sense.I also liked Fast food combat .It was easy to understand and kids will understand that free fruits and veggies are better than frozen and stale ones.
Sometimes interactive games serve a purpose. That’s why I played the recycling games where Tom and Jerry show river recycle game shows us how Tom and Jerry are cleaning up the river.I am a passionate advocate of environmental health and choosing to keep nature clean is our way of growing food rich in nutrients.
In case of online games ,be careful about how long you spend time on sites and kids must always be under supervision.

I love learning different dorms of traditional art.But Mithila Art is something very close to my heart. It was the Art pieces I bought from Dilli hut back in 2008, that sparked the interest.
I bought books, looked at Youtube videos and Instsgram feeds of Mithila Art Artists.I almost signed up for a formal course, but the schedule and lack of flexibility was a big problem.
And then the Universe of Instagram reels sent Anushree Dutta @duttatanusree’s art, right into my Insta feed. But her artwork looked super detailed and sophisticated. It didn’t look like something a beginner like me could learn online.
I followed her work for well over a year before I found her advertising an online short course .
That was the God’s of Mithila where we would finish four art work of God’s and Goddess .I sent her a DM and got to know about how much it costs ,timings and what I needed.
I signed up quickly .It was God sent.
The classes started .It was a good course with introduction to Mithila Art to help us understand the background and traditions of this art form. The classes are intense, creative, calming ,beautiful and Anushree is a wonderful teacher.
I was unfortunately not able to keep up with the pace of the class due to sudden house guests on two consecutive weeks .But her private videos links on Youtube and also the drive links helped me keep doing the work.
I finally finished two of the 4 art work and decided to share my opinion about the course I took.
Who is this course for?
Anyone interested in Mithila Art/Traditional Indian Art form.
Any experience needed?
While the basic introduction class is great and makes even a novice feel comfortable, the actual art work does need some level of comfort with acrylic, brushes, ink and ink pen.But saying that ,since this is not a degree course or certification ,you are your only competition. You can totally work at your own pace,do it the way you want with the God’s of Mithila guiding your hand.
Pros of the course
Online
Life time Access
Indian timing kept in mind
Weekend classes.
Great teacher :Patient, passionate and a wonderful artist with a deep knowledge about the art form .
Affordable.
You complete four art works which you can do numerous times with revisions.
Feedback.Constructive and kindA helpful WhatsApp group to share art work and get feedback.
Cons:I simply couldn’t find any.
I plan to do more such courses with Anushree once I finish the other two painting.See the finished work video below.

I love the shade honey and it’s definitely a must have in my travel bag.If you are looking for a Poila Baisakh gift for a friend, sister or yourself then this lipstain with the heart shaped wand says โค.This is also a great addition in a Mothers day gift hamper.
Let’s start at the beginning.
I wanted to have a light ,smooth, pretty lip stain for regular wear .I saw Katrina’s Instagram promo for her brand product in the shade honey.
Now Katrina is gorgeous and you can put anything on her and it will look stunning. But this colour looked subtle and I was feeling the need for a lip oil in a nude shade which wasn’t too glossy.
I took a chance and bought it from Nykaa.
It was well worth the price .
I wear it almost daily .
I used it as a stand alone product
As a lip gloss over my lipstick.
To touch up after a meal at a party.
Doesn’t smear .It’s light and I love how the wand is a pretty heart shape.
Makeup products I don’t buy a lot because I use little and I fear I end up using expired products. Since I like liquid lip colors, the best way to buy it is one at a time.
It lists Raspberry oil as an ingredient.
Writing this with BlogchatterA2Z. K post
By Dr.Amrita Basu(MBBS,MS) on 18
I love taking courses. I always have. Last year I took the Blogchatter creative writing course, and this year it’s the Internshala Creative Writing course. Writing creative nonfiction is fun. I do a lot of it.
But I want to learn storytelling better and write better stories.ย While teaching my daughter at home, I realized children like listening to stories.ย It’s easiest to make them understand morality, ethics, and honesty through stories. Not just by definition.
Adults, too, love their stories.ย Maybe not the Cinderella and the Prince ones, but stories we like.ย If I want to do a better job of educating, I need to learn storytelling better. That was my 2020 goal. Since then I have taken a total of four Creative writing courses and the Internshala Creative Writing course by Kulpreet Yadav is the best. I took courses by Ruskin Bond and Anita Nair through Unlu, now Mugafi and both were very interesting but lacked the depth that the Internsahla course had
All the time I have been blogging, I have learned. The best part of blogging for me is my personal learning curve while I help spread awareness.
That’s why when I found Mr. Kulpreet Yadav taking this course virtually, I quickly signed up.
In case you like doing courses, this one will make you happy.
The course is hosted by the online educational platform Internshala. It has videos as the primary course material with a few reading resources, plenty of practice quizzes, specific module assignments, and module quizzes to test your mettle.
You can only unlock the next levels, after taking the one-shot quizzes.
The assignments are peer-reviewed, and you have to review work by your peers at each level of assignment. Its also currently a Government Certified Course.
Creative writing as a whole, Fiction, nonfiction, editing, publishing, scriptwriting, feature writing, advertisement, and modules make up the course. The videos are informative. Mr. Kulpreet Yadav is effective in his brevity.
The mock quizzes are very well structured and are educational.
The course curriculum is well thought out.
The main contest makes it fun. If you want to know about the contest check this.
I would love video transcripts. Sometimes the internet is slow, and videos tend to take time.
Maybe more details for authors choosing the self-publishing route through Kindle.
This is a must-take course if you want to write better. That’s the crux of it.
I am looking forward to applying what I learned. If you have taken Creative writing courses, do let me know in the comments below.

How is the Health of the Nation: The report is an eye-opener!
By Dr.Amrita Basu(MBBS,MS) on 0
It’s been some time since I have written about a web series we enjoy as a family.
Having an impressionable child means you try to screen the content you see on OTTs where the age limits are a little ambiguous. The Bengali web series platform Hoichoi has some interesting options, and I am bringing you 3 options for the weekend and the run-up to the Viswakarma Puja.
These three web series on Hoichoi are not only engaging but also age-appropriate for family viewing. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy some quality time with your loved ones this weekend and during the exciting build-up to Viswakarma Puja!
This series on Hoichoi has only the first season available now. It takes you on a madcap run around and under Kolkata’s lanes bylanes, markets, and temples. Mr.KalloKallol Datta (Kalke)is a clerk in a municipal office where his desk job fails to hold his interest and he rushes headlong into solving a murder and a missing treasure both of which happened at the museum. Enter Jhelum who is a disgruntled citizen, also the daughter of the prime suspect and together they form an unlikely pair in search of murderers and treasures.
What works
Mr.Kolketa played by Ritwick Chakraborty, Jhelum Sen played by Rajnandini Paul, and Mr.Jimut Basak (Kaushik Sen) play their roles well. My favorite though is Potai(Mr. Potochitra Dutta played by Master Aysuh Mukherjee) the nephew and occasional sidekick who is spontaneous and brings a dose of light-heartedness to sometimes grim situations.
Jhelum is spunky, smart (mostly) can kick well, and is not afraid to call a spade a spade. Plus she looks quintessentially pretty Bengali young lady in her sari avatar.
Mr.Ritwick Chakraborty is a brilliant actor and plays the part of the absent-minded history buff-treasure-hunter well. The entire support cast does their bits with an ease that gives the series its very watchable appearance.
What needs work
They are caught and threatened with bodily harm multiple times and the detective has zero survival skills. He is often beaten up and that’s cringe when he is roaming the underground with a kid.
The potential romance between the obviously much older detective and Jhelum needs a better screenplay to work well. Minor points which they can work on I am sure. Feluda has spoiled us forever and life will never be the same again.
The theft of a precious muslin from a museum sends Kolke and Jhelum on a thrilling journey to uncover a mystery through the lens of history and hidden treasure in Kolkata. Take a tour of your familiar city’s unfamiliar alleys in Mr. Kolketa.
Director :
Surajit Chatterjee
Starring :
Ritwick Chakraborty, Rajnandini Paul, Kaushik Sen, Debesh Roychowdhury, Kaushik Chatterjee
Eken Babu played by Anirban Chakrabarti, is getting better with every season and movie. Unfortunately, the original creator Sujan Dasgupta is no more. The webseries is watchable though the stories and the sidekick remind you of Feluda but in a much watered-down version. Every season the stories get a little more interesting and in the movie “The Eken Ruddhaswas Rajasthan”Anirban Chakrabarti is at his best. His happy-go-lucky character hides a sharp brain and his appearance is deceptive.
In the movie, he has a few action scenes and does a good job of making them believable. He is nothing like the quintessential detective hero we are used to and currently, that is what seems to be trending on OTT platforms. My favorite is The Eken: Ruddhaswas Rajasthan
What works:
Anirban Chakrabarti is a good actor and his mixing up of Bengali proverbs will make you laugh. He is in his element playing the absent-minded Bangali Babu who loves eating and rarely notices anything.
What needs work:
His side kicks change occasionally from the series to the movie and that gets confusing at times. With the creator’s demise, we need to see what happens next with the character
Eken Babu
Detective Comedy
6 Seasons
Eken Babu is not your average, middle-aged Bengali man. He is Ekendra Sen, a detective extraordinaire who effortlessly cracks complex cases in his own quirky style. And wherever a mystery takes him, he is accompanied by his friends, Bapi and Pramatha.
Director :
Anirban Mallik, Anupam Hari, Abhijit Chowdhury, Surajit Chatterjee, Joydeep Mukherjee
Starring :
Anirban Chakrabarti, Shoumo Banerjee, Debapriyo Bagchi, Suhotra Mukhopadhyay, Somak Ghosh
The Eken
Set in Darjeeling, this is the first movie and Eken Babu with his team is on the search for the murderer, a missing idol. A beautiful film star makes for a twist in the tale.
The Eken: Ruddhaswas Rajasthan
Detective Comedy
Eken finds himself embroiled in an antique smuggling mystery while vacationing in Rajasthan with Bapi and Pramatha. What happens when the situation gets out of hand after finding fake artifacts at the Jaisalmer Museum?
Writers: Padmanabha Dasgupta, Sujan Dasgupta
Director: Joydeep Mukherjee
Starring: Anirban Chakrabarti, Suhotra Mukhopadhyay, Somak Ghosh, Sandipta Sen, Rajatava Dutta, Rajesh Sharma
Currently watching and very enjoyable. Played by Aparajita Addha as Bouma detective and Ronit Roy her actor husband.
The very beautiful Aparajita Addha brings her A game to the table and it’s on her very capable shoulders that the series rests. Rono her husband, the superstar reel life hero(real-life horrible person)playboy played by Ronit Roy is the kind of man no real woman would like and he plays the mean, husband to a T . The kind who doesn’t admit he is married.( Remember a chocolate image superstar who did something similar?)
Anyway, he is the prime suspect in the unexpected death of his heroine in the middle of an intimate scene. His wife the much abused, much-ignored wife sets out to become a Miss (Mrs. Marple) with the hero’s assistant as a sidekick to save the screen hero from a life behind bars.
What works?
Ms. Aparajita is fantastic as the little wife at home who has let herself go to seed is very uninspiring and very much Biwi-number-one-ish.But that probably gives her the larger-than-life image because no woman should tolerate what she is doing(something like a former US first lady if you know what I mean).
Atanu the faithful Ronojoy assistant decided to help her solve the mystery
Cons
The Ronit Roy backstory needed a reason. Why in this day and age his entire family supports his need for a father-of-two to pretend to be a bachelor is anyone’s guess.
The heroines are shown in a horrible light. Apparently, no one bags a project without unfair means. That’s horrible even when it’s fiction. Some scenes are cringe and you will need to skip them if watching with a kid. The plot has several holes but don’t look for logic.
Official Synopsis
Simple homemaker Rohini decides to take on the role of a detective after her superstar husband Ranojay is accused of murdering his co-actor.
