When Rebecca from Canva Champion asked us about our wildest creative dream, I answered
“A Start a Blog course to help professional moms like me.”
I am still vacillating. I fold laundry, sweep the balcony, clean out my sock drawer, did everything but get started. Why should I even do a course? I have a book, right? People can just read that. I did my part to share what I knew.
Do I know enough? The self-doubt monster paired up with imposter syndrome, and they played with my mind. I was ready to give up. But then I remembered how I felt about writing and publishing my first blog post, that first book, the first Podcast, and video.
My first video is still up on my Facebook page, and it’s horrible. It has poor light, awful sound, me looking earnest but clueless. But I still kept it to remind myself that I need to start somewhere.
Then in July, Canva gave several pieces of training for using their presentation template, and I was hooked.

The Process:
I wrote the script.
Rewrote it.
Edited it umpteenth time, and July flew.
Then it was literally down to the last few days, and I knew the work had to be done.
The good news was Canva presentation templates made recording the videos super easy. I made the first video for my course. Canva presentations helped me structure, create and get it done.Try Canva Pro presentations for free today to create your course.
The Workflow:
I created my slides on the Presentation template. Edited them.
Recorded my video using the slides.
The videos were automatically downloaded and in my library.
Which I then tweaked and edited.
I created quick pdfs from the presentation slides, and that took care of my text part.
The course was ready as a tester.
Something I would never have done without Canva releasing its presentation template and making life easy and fun. Course creation was always a headache because of the entire process of creating videos and editing them. Using the presentation mode of Canva, it’s as easy as one, two, three.
The best part is you can edit right on Canva with no headache. In case I want to create exclusive bonus content, I can share the Canva link.
It’s trusted by brands. The templates are more fun than work, and you can’t stop having fun.
I wanted to share my story with you to start with your presentations now without a headache. Now no more boring videos.
Using Canva for creating a course is like an adult playground. You have to force yourself to stop playing once you are done.
Thatโs, not all. The creative templates by professionals take the headache out of people like you and me who need hand-holding when designing. You can create quickly, and you need zero experience, just an eye for beauty.
You can edit as many times as you want. You can export the presentation as a pdf(standard or print) ,png,jpg,SVG,mp4,gif.The possibilities really helped me make the text part of the course get designed quickly.
How to record your first-course video using Canva presentation ?
1)Get all your course material in a word document.
2)Now open Canva on your desktop.
Click on the presentation template.
3)Choose your favorite
4)Copy and paste the parts you want to highlight on the slide
5)Put the extra stuff on the notes part at the bottom. That will be shown only in presenter mode, and your students won’t see it.
6)Now customize the slides using animation, your brand colors logo.
7)Now go to the right-hand side and click on the present option-choose present and record.
8)You can share the video as a link or download it.
9)Create pdfs from the templates.
10)Create quizzes and assignments. You are ready to get your course published.
I downloaded it into my computer and now getting it ready for uploading to my course platform.
Canva also has an option to share the video as a link. The video stays in the Canva Video uploads section. In case you donโt like it , just delete it.
No more crazy searching for videos, and I can easily edit and customize right on the desktop. I trust Canva for my creative inspirations and design. Just like global brands like American Express and Twitter does.Try CANVA pro presentation today!

What a great resource! I tried making a Canva presentation video for the first time, just recently, and it is in my blog post today. Neat coincidence, right? I definitely will keep it in mind for using with a course.
