I published my first fiction Krishna Mishra and the Mysterious Movie Star in April of 2020.
This was also the book I published as a series on my final podcast entries for the Voice of Anchor Podcasting challenge.I came third in it and that gave me the extra energy to finally get the audiobook published.
Did I tell you, it’s easier than you think, but it can test your patience?
If you would like to listen to a short mystery story on Audible or any of your favorite audiobook platforms, search for it . Or you can support me by buying directly from me. Just click the green button below and you will be taken to the Instamojo online store , where I am housing my audiobook.
Book Blurb
Krishna Mishra is an ex-Army intelligence officer and has MBBS under his belt. Then he specialized in Forensics medicine and enrolled in the army. Nowadays, Krishna has his own detective agency. He often teams up with his wife, Ria. She is his best friend, assistant, boss, and famous in her own rights.
When yesteryear filmstar Anurag Chatterjee gets involved with a case of misplaced luggage, he meets with detective Krishna Mishra to solve the problem. It looks like a simple case until a brutal murder makes it a race against time to find the motive of a dangerous killer.
Now for Behind the Scenes:
I recorded and edited my audiobook in segments with Audacity , a professional microphone and a mini home studio setup.
Then I created a customized cover using Canva.Check out my Canva site and a free Ebook template I created .
I used AuthorsRepublic to distribute my completed Audiobook and it’s now available worldwide .Did you know AuthorsRepublic is one of the easiest ways to publish and distribute your Audiobook on multiple platforms. I then uploaded the Audiobook through Findaway voice because somehow ,Authors Republic payment info was missing from my dashboard.Since this was an experiment ,it’s a start .But later I don’t want confusion.

So is making an Audiobook easy?
Not really. But making it good enough for publishing took work because AuthorsRepublic reviews the audio files before distribution. Depending on each Audiobook platform the requirements vary to some extent .
Why did I publish an Audiobook?
There are three Reasons.
I wanted to sell my book direct.Thats difficult with my ebooks ,since they are all enrolled in KDP select.Joanna Penn an author and podcaster I admire tells authors to diversify as far as possible. That makes sense down thd line for non-ebook formats.
I really wanted to try and see whether I could do it.I love finding simple ways of complex tech stuff .It’s a nice hobby to have.
I wanted people who couldn’t read or don’t like to read, have access to the book if they wanted too. Most people like stories right?
Today Paul of the Ultimate Blog Challenge wanted us to teach a skill to our readers.I wanted to give you a simple step by step method of publishing an Audiobook. Want to know more?Leave a question in the comments and subscribe to my newsletter and I will get back to you.

I enjoy Joanna Penn, too. I appreciate how informative this post is and like you, I want to dive into audiobook publishing. I have been told my voice is one of my gifts so I ought to be using it, right? Thanks again for your insights!
