What’s the most fun way to exercise?
Swimming, weight lifting followed by calisthenics is easily the most fun way to exercise for me.Gardening on the other hand is absolutely effortless, time flies and you end up with beautiful flowers and fresh fruits, veggiesย for your kitchen! It’s a win win.I also have a constant companion;my treadmill with a DIY table which I use for lazy days when I write and walk very slowly. But I also like going for nature walks and hiking with my friends. That’s a lot of fun.K
If you want to keep your body as a whole, heart and brain healthy then there’s nothing like exercise.
But the problem is you can’t only do one thing .You may do one thing, but its not fun ,not sustainable and plain boring .In winters I don’t swim so the others comes in use .
I first started lifting weights in my late teens. Then there was a long gap and I started again seriously in 2017 and that’s a part of my weekly routine. But since I do it at home ,it’s limited in it’s extent and fun quotient. But I like using different things like dumb-bells,kettle bells and recently I got a mudgar!
Calisthenics is something I started doing since last year.I can only do L sits properly now but I am focusing on doing that well
Why do I want exercise to be fun? That’s like wanting to read for fun!Well I do read for fun and that’s why I know exercising is the best way to release the good endorphins, look good and feel great. Its also an underappreciated way of keeping your gut health great.
Plus exercising and muscle building is still the only scientifically proven way of ageing gracefully maintaining, flexibility, mobility and strength .If it’s one thing I have diligently focused on in my life as a doctor mommy, is walking the talk. You can listen to my Audiobook “How to Walk Write and Garden for the Healthy Life You Want , where I talk about this and more!

When I read your blog title, I thought to myself (I am probably one of the most unathletic guys in the world), what would I say? Maybe rollerblading or dancing.
Very cool that you enjoy different types of physical activity!
I have never tried roller blading! But dancing would be absolutely great too.I thing it could even win this contest!
I think my favourite way to stay active is hiking – particularly after a long, cold winter.
Mine is gardening its alot of work & good thearpy. Also just got a treadmil so we shall see in winter how I do. Thanks for sharing how to stay strong & young.
Gardening is my thing too!
Interesting way to make exercise routine sustainable and interesting. I guess, online platforms for yoga etc are also helpful. i am using them for some time now and they make you free from the fixed-time constraint.
Definitely yoga is fun too and it’s one of the best ways to stay fit. Please suggest a platform you use
