With the start of the #MyFriendAlexa campaign, I will be sharing my experience with the first 11 steps to a better Alexa which stays down.

What is Alexa Ranking?Why exactly do you even need to worry about it?Does it even matter?It’s obsolete, right?Yes and no.Alexa is a ranking system made by alexa.com.This belongs to amazon.com.So definitely not a myth.It audits the frequency of visits to Web sites.

There’s a secret algorithm which determines Alexa rank.It is based on traffic recorded from people who have Alexa toolbar installed.For new websites, it can be at-least three months for Alexa to show up, depending on your traffic.This is true also when you shift from a free blog to self-hosted.

One interesting thing: it’s not only you!

Mathematics: Alexa rank is a geometric mean of reach and page views over a fixed time period.This time period changes for high traffic sites with great Alexa.

Download and install the Alexa toolbar here. Very important step.
Ask your friends to download it.That’s why #MyFriendAlexa is superb.You have the perfect audience with the Alexa toolbar.
If possible Submit your site in webmaster forums(SECRET2).Why ?Because they have excellent Alexa.The traffic which comes from forums is priceless.Audience coming from a site with great Alexa is what you want!
Submit your post links in Blog directories like Blogchatter and Indiblogger which have excellent Alexa.
Add Quality content to your website.This is most important.Until your content helps someone your traffic will not stay up.Organic traffic is important to keep the Alexa rank great.Writing is a habit.This needs to be well planned if you want to improve your Alexa.
Write Guest posts(Secret 3) on sites with good Alexa.
Join blog hops (Secret4) on site with Alexa better than yours.
Include your site’s URL in your signature(Secret 5).Oh yes, this one is Gold.Never miss this opportunity.
If a visitor returns to your site 30 minutes later.That is counted as a separate page view(Secret6).Keep this in mind

Living in a small town in West Bengal after spending my entire life in Kolkata and partly in Delhi, I will be lying if I said I had no regrets.I cried my face swollen with nothing to do except work and home.Then magic happened.

God helped me find the one thing(other than Rai )which could make me be happy effortlessly.Thanks to the internet I am able to read as much as I want.I don’t buy magazines, instead, I read blogs and news online.But I still buy books both e-books and the hold-in -your -hand warm new book kinds.

Now with the internet, I not only read but also write, lend my voice and support causes like this.

So today I am thankful to all those who have made the internet possible.Those who make a good connection possible even in the back and beyond.I am grateful for the open source information which helps me.The Internet is a vast treasure trove for people like me who love learning

I am also grateful that I learned to keep my plants alive by reading all the blogs online.There are people who share such valuable information all the time.It’s because of technology I am able to share my tree love with Parul every Thursdays.

Car Air purifier India:Why I want it

Air quality is very important for me. I have always been careful about clean air in my home.I try to have more indoor plants and dream of a greener India. Air pollution levels make me worried.We need to work on present solutions while rebuilding the future for our own health and for our children.

I am passionate about planting more trees, making forests if needed and vertical forests , we still need a working solution for clean air especially for children and elderly.Clean air is a basic right.We shouldn’t need to fight for it.Right?Unfortunately the more polluted air you breathe in, the more your brain and your system slow down.Probably that’s why the pollution has polluted the brains of the people in power!

While I can’t clean air everywhere, I focus on my zone.Where I live, work, travel.

The government is trying to cut down on the sale of such adulterated fuel, but it’s still a long road.The weird thing is that these people who use them, don’t remember(or refuse to believe) that they are poisoning the air which they breathe themselves.

Increased population and vehicular congestion have made matters worse.Traffic jams make vehicles move at snail’s pace.The lower speed makes the fuel inefficiently utilized that is another important cause of increased pollutants.
When speed is 5 -20 kilometers per hour, emissions are 4 to 8 times more than when it was 55 to 70 kilometers per hour.(3)

The pictures are scary and they made me very worried.It’s important you know the quality of outdoor air in your locality before you let sensitive children, sick adults go out.Particular times of day may be worse.That’s why you need to take some precautions.

0 to 50: Good Air Quality you are Green.You don’t need to worry
51 to 100: Moderate.Acceptable air quality.But may be a problem for few.Active children and adults, people with re disease, such as asthma, should not spend long time outdoor. Yellow

Extroverted Introvert as a Preschooler:My Learnings

Few people are purely extrovert or introvert.But children growing up have a difficult time knowing this.Why children? Even adults are often confused by their need for solitude.

Most people are a balance of extraversion and introversion.The percentages are flexible and can change with life’s challenges and situations.

People who enjoy social gatherings a lot are extrovert and those who don’t enjoy them so much are called introverts.But this is not an all or none trait.I enjoy parties and my friends.But not necessarily mindless socializing.

I also like my me time and solitude.Does that make me an extroverted introvert or an introverted extrovert ?

Whatever it is we need to learn to get along with people and live in society.If your child shows tend to avoid social gathering’s its time you had a a talk,

Is it always particular gathering?Friends, family or neighbor?

Does she,he enjoy the company of friends and relatives?

Does the behaviour change while socializing at home or at another place?

Does she have self-image issues?

All these questions need to be answered before we force children to mingle.Most children enjoy playing with peers.

But what if they don’t?What if they ignore, avoid and don’t enjoy?

Dangers Signs of social avoidance which you should know

Lack of eye to eye contact
Obsession with one particular toy or object
Enjoys repetitive play
Lack of interest in surroundings
Enjoys solitary play at all times
Inability to mingle.
Inability to express their needs properly.

If your child expresses any of these signs talk to your doctor.

Otherwise, parents need to look inside and see how they themselves behave socially.There lies the clue to making children social.Do introspect about your own childhood behavior.What made you happy and what did you avoid?What about your partner?Behaviour patterns and personality types have a genetic influence too.

Then it’s time for you mommy to show how it is done!If you want her to be social, you have to be social too!.The best time to adapt children’s behavior is before they are five!

My Top tips to make socializing fun for the little one:

Have play dates at home.Start playing with your child and her friends and help them play together.When children enjoy playing they start socializing

Show them the fun part of socializing.The dressing up and anticipation.The joy in meeting friends and having a good time.

The food at parties will help too.Make them realize we are a part of a bigger family where we need to show up and be there for each other.

How to make an introvert child more friendly

My sister used to resist going to family events because they bored her.At one age we all tend to get bored at social dos.Guess what?I carried my story books and sat and read in a corner with her if there was no body our age.Smiled and talked when someone approached and went up to say hello if we saw a favorite aunt or uncle!Mommy happy and sister happier!

Now as adults I still carry books and my kindle to public events (you never know when you may need it ).I also need a lot of solitude.Impossible in my profession and with a 5-year-old around.So now my solitude has a different definition.Me and Rai cuddling and playing hide and seek, followed by me doing some work or reading while Rai draws or plays with her dolls.At work, I try to have an emotional protective barrier on, to avoid becoming overwhelmed (happens with introverts in large crowds).

My little one likes socializing but not loud parties.She likes meeting friends and families and is always happy to visit them .I need more inspiration to meet strangers, friends and family than my daughter !When I was in high school I realized

Sometimes it’s better to be alone, than in bad company and suffering all the negative effects of peer pressure.

That realization came after loads of heartbreak .A hard lesson difficult to learn.So for me introvert or extrovert whatever it is, my child is adaptable.She is happy in the company she keeps and finds good company to keep.My work and responsibility are to help her find the good in people and the good people so that she enjoys being social.

Monday Mommy Moments 35:Mommying Lessons I learnt

My Monday starts with a lot of activity.Good ones, and not so good ones.But #MondayMommyMoments are always good.Last week we had moms telling us about how beautifully they celebrate birthday parties.I had tears in my eyes when I read Shipra and Vidhi’s articles.

Mothers have such a beautiful role to play in making the next generation adults.The biggest takeaway from last weeks linky was, we are all trying to teach the little ones the real values.Having fun is not about money and gifts.It’s about happiness and love.Of sharing and anticipations.It’s about enjoying each others company!

Greening the Planet :India plants 66 million trees in 12 hours #WATWB

The world is facing a crisis.All the greenery that we have thoughtlessly cut down over the lasts several years need to be restored if we want our children to live in a living world.

Honouring the Paris Agreement the Indian government has to spend 6 billion dollars to restore 12% of its land to forest.Not easy when you consider India’s bursting population.

But that’s another story.The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh garnered tremendous support when 1.2 million people worked together for 12 hours on 5th July 2017 to plant 66 million trees all along the Narmada river in Madhya Pradesh.

News like this makes me happy.It’s like people and politicians finally discovering their brains and common sense bone. Hopefully, this is not a one-off and this will be a change for the better
