Noakhali massacre happened in 1946.Our text books didn”t talk about this but our grandparents did.But not much.
They wanted to wipe out the memory. They believed ,things would get better.Hope is always a good thing. But forgetting the victims and refusing to acknowledge the civilizational horror of living amongst killers, rapists and their keen must not be taken lightly.
Since I read about Noakhali,Great Calcutta Killing ,I have felt horror struck about the ineffective partition,Pakistan ,Bangladesh and the persistent terrorism. The persistent gaslighting by the progeny of those very people.
If people fool you once…shame on them.
If you are fooled a second time…shame on you!
What happened in the past ,need to be learned from .It needs to be understood .If the lessons are not learned, there’s no excuse.Once you understand ,you know what you need to do.You dont need lessons from celebrities and politicians about realities.Priviledge and money makes people jaded. They forget about empathy. They want the world to think and act to suit their vested interest.
I am sharing this X post by Kanchan Gupta because I believe Indians,Hindus,Bengali Hindus must remember, know, retain and learn from the civilizational trauma which made us invisible.
Nehru and Gandhi have blood on their hands. No amount of washing by their progeny, will get the scent of human blood off them.

Sunday was Kojagari Lakshmi Puja, observed after sunset. It is a big festival for Hindu Bengalis.
On Kojagari Lakshmi Puja day in 1946, Gholam Sarwar, close associate of Huseyn Suhrawardy, let loose his Miyan’s Force who unleashed unspeakable violence on Hindu Bengalis of Noakhali — men were killed; women and girls were brutalised and abducted, never to be seen again; families were forcibly converted to Islam.
The Hindu zamindar Rajendralal Chaudhuri’s house was ransacked, young women and girls were r@ped and/or carried away by thugs of Miyan’s Force. Chaudhuri was decapitated and his head presented to Sarwar on a brass puja platter.
Noakhali was not a riot, it was a massacre and worse by rapacious Muslim Leaguers.
Noakhali was a hideously gut-churning chapter in the endless saga of Hindu Bengali Genocide. It was and remains a blot on Nehru, his acolytes and the Congress — they refused to help the victims because they were Hindu Bengalis.
No amount of lipstick and rouge can hide the fact that the Congress collaborated by remaining criminally indifferent to the sorrow and grief of the Hindu Bengalis of Noakhali. Worse, Gholam Sarwar was invited to join the Congress.
MK Gandhi, whose so-called ‘peace mission’ to Noakhali has been theatrically linked to Rabindranath Tagore’s song “Ekla Cholo…”, insisted that Congress members and satyagrahis must adhere strictly to non-violence or step aside when they find themselves confronting Gholam Sarwar’s murderous hoardes.
