Fly with your Valentine, memories of a lifetime..to the moon and back maybe?
I wish you could do that.I wish I could do that.
If you love traveling and the love of your love does too, that is the trip to plan. With Mahashivrathri falling on the 14th, this Valentine day just got a more auspicious makeover. But if you can’t travel to the moon I have a few places right here in India which will be perfect.
If you want to gift someone something gift them an experience. That’s what makes people happy.Memories make life enriching.
When I and hubby were in Delhi studying together(and just married)we scraped and saved money left over after the necessities strictly for traveling.
The most fun places for relaxing and enjoying some quiet time needs to be on a budget.
Just book the right flights in advance and you can then find the best hotels at peace.I have seen the biggest hurdle in my travel dreams are sudden weird flight price explosion!
Before we had our little girl we never booked hotels in advance.Just booked our flights and landed up in new places. Checking out the bathrooms of budget hotels, before we decided on the one which deserved our hard earned money.
So where can you go with your sweetheart?
Visit Manali
It’s a favorite destination for lovebirds.I visited it for our second-anniversary celebration and I still dream about those gorgeous hills. The people are nice, the hills are inviting and something about the weather makes you forget the gruels of daily living.
Visit Pahalgam
I know the Kashmir potboiler leaves little space for romance. But keep this in mind just in case. The Lidder river dances throughout the quaint little town of Pahalgam.I have not met a friendlier, kinder and more welcoming people than the people of Pahalgam. The Hotel Himalaya where we stayed is located right on the bank of the river and it has a canal going through the property.A hanging porch overlooks the river dancing merrily below the green snowcapped majestic Himalayas. It’s as close to the heavens and my dream home I have ever come. They also have a swing in the little garden bursting with flower and a friendly old gardener who will let you mow the garden if you want to exercise.
Visit Kolkata
It is perfect for a luxury cruise on the Ganges.Nothing more romantic I guarantee. It’s affordable, the food is fantastic and the hospitality of Kolkata will put a smile on your face. This is also a great time to go for quick city tours in Kolkata as the weather is perfect.
Close to Kolkata the Mandarmani resort of Aquamarina drive inn is budget friendly, simple food with unlimited sea view.It is a 3 hours drive from Kolkata in minimum traffic.
Maybe a quick trip to Goa?
The south Goa beaches are uncrowded and the Dona Sylvia beach resort where we stayed had a private access to the beach, acres of greenery, stunning pool and the most sumptuous food.
If you want to spend some quiet time with your loved one. This is the place!
Visit Puriย
Fly to Bhubaneswar and it’s a 45 minutes ride from airport to the bluest ocean.
There is no dearth of tourist lodges and hotels on a budget. But my favorite is the Mahodadhi palace (it’s a renovated summer palace ) and the Mayfair Hotels Puri.
Don’t delay gifting your Valentine a memory to cherish.
So where do you plan to fly? Comment below to let me know.
