Doubling Down on Stupid is the Mamdani “Socialism” Experiment. Its called “socialism, but it means everyone will be equally poor. Its populist, doesnt talk about the hidden cost and ignores the reality of aspurations.
Locked in rent,lowest price,government grocery store,fixed AC temperature,equality for all ?
Sounds like a dream right?
West Bengal suffered 34 years of communism under the left and 14 years of pseudo welfare (pseudo because the person who was helped was those in power),broken buildings dirty streets, destroyed healthcare, corrupt education system , nonfunctioning infrastructure, shanties everywhere, land mafia, job mafia drugs mafia.Human trafficking, organ trafficking, drugswhat not.
The businesses left, the factories closed, the youth went overseas while Kolkata and West Bengal in general became an empty shell.
Law and order entered a dark chapter ,an entire generation of school and college students were made unemployable. They were taught merit doesn’t count. Those who believed are unemployable ,those who did not believe him, left the city .
People think Mamdani doesn’t know what he is doing. He does. He knows exactly what to say,how much to smile, what to do and how to get away.
He just doesn’t want those who voted for him to understand the reality of what he is doing.
Those who do understand are already packing up and leaving and the rest who still believe in his version of reality are going to get the rudest shock ever.
The problem with politicians like Mamdani
They are never made accountable for the opportunity cost of following through with stupidity.
I am getting a sense of deja vu whenever I hear of Mamdani’s plans. His name also had two m .
Why would anyone study ,do better than others, work hard, get a good job if the promise is “you will be equally poor” !Watching Mamdani take down New York and make it a hovell is like a socialism version of 9/11 and no ones trying to save them.
