Today as we celebrated Independence Day at IMA Malda we realized once again, India won its much deserved freedom,by hard work,sacrifice and determination.

Sometimes the most simple things need standing up.History is often written by those who survived and the Indian struggle for Independence was long and  difficult.

The voices of those who were killed and hanged was lost in the battle of playing the  devils advocate by a certain section.

As India is on the 80th Year of Independence we realize once again that freedom is to be respected ,nurtured ,fought for.Its never to be taken for granted.If we look at our neighbouring country who was born out of our soil ,we know what happens to ungrateful,non deserving nations.

Just like riches in the hands of fool becomes dust,so also countries managed by insincere statesman.

I appreciate and love Bharat Mata.For me India means freedom .Unity in those diversities,which make us stronger,not those which hate the idea of Bharat Mata .

It’s important to recognize intent,narrative,strengths,weakness.Its important to understand suicidal empathy.It’s important to understand about Swayambodh and Shatrubodh.Overall its important to understand about motherland.Its the soil ,the water,the air ,the culture which has shaped  my body,mind and soul.

As a woman born in a free India and keeping track of so called “freedom indexes” ,I know I am free to read,write,work,not work,be a mom,boss,worker,buisnesswoman,politician as per my choice.No book ,no person dictates my choices personal or professional except me.Respecting my choices and being free to express them (within reason),is my birthright as an Indian.I need to follow the law of the land and I answer to that and my personal moral and ethical codes .I am guided by my  Gods and Goddesses,parents,my elders,teachers,children and all those who inspire me.To love,to not love ,to marry ,to inherit ,to earn,to farm ,to build a home is my choice .

Now for some happenings on Independence Day.A beautiful poem was penned by Dr.Bidyut Ghosh sir.

আজ আশিতম স্বাধীনতা দিবস
উদযাপনের এই পুণ্য দিনে,
জাতীয় পতাকা উত্তোলনের
কর্মসূচি ছিল আইএমএ ভবনে।
পতাকা উত্তোলন করলেন
আইএমএর মহিলা সদস্যরাই,
বন্দেমাতরম গানের সুরে গলা
মেলালাম আমরা বাকি সবাই।
সাথে ছিল নেতাজীর ছবিতে
ফুল সহযোগে শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন,
জয় হিন্দ,বন্দেমাতরম ধ্বনিতে
মুখরিত হল ভূমি থেকে গগন।
সুন্দর অনুষ্ঠানের শেষে ছিল
জলখাবারের সামান্য আয়োজন,
যদিও সামান্য হলেও আমাদের
কাছে সেটাই ভুরিভোজন।
সবশেষে আবার বলি,বন্দেমাতরম
জয় হিন্দ,ভারত মাতা কি জয়,
দেশের সার্বভৌমত্বের মতো আইএমএর
সম্প্রীতিও হোক অমর,অক্ষয়।

Singing Vande Mataram all stanzas on Independence Day seems to be the beginning of  a new age.One were people will stop pretending “all is well” ,and ensure “all stays well”!

Flag hoisting was done by the women doctors and that was an exceptional memory.Thank you IMA Malda for making this possible.
