Its official ย , #Thankul Thursdays is now officially a habit. If you have read about 21 days to a habit, then you know I have written 22 thankfulness posts.Mayuri our resident idea generator and Tina are both veterans at A toZ April challenge. They very smartly made a short quick list of prompts, which will be a breeze to write even with the madness of an E post coming up tomorrow.
Prompt this week
Tea or Coffee? Why are you thankful for your favourite beverage?
Tea or coffee :Thankful Thursdays week 23
Yes, I love my tea , its like my best friend for life. When I travel Iย miss having tea my way.Luckily green tea sachet,ย make having my cup of this beverage easy, anywhere. Not so with my favourite gingery milky chai!
On the way from Bhuvaneshwar airport towards Puri, I had one of the most delicious chai while travelling. The stall owner charged a humble fifteen rupees and also had the sweet and slightly nankeenย (salty) local cookie as an accompaniment.Living outside Kolkata I miss the Maharani tea stall trademark “special cha”.
Enough of nostalgia. My list of reasons for thankfulness for my tea are:
Green tea tastes great.
Its super healthy being packed full of flavonoids and catechins.Making its antioxidant properties well known.
I drink my morning cup guilt free.
I am avoiding the milk and sugar , tea ?thus calories are easier to control.I indulge when I am having a break.
Have you read about my affair with tea?Comment below to let me know .

Our hormones make us impossible. That’s why we end up having fights with .Yes I squarely blame it on hormones. But all say and done ,aren’t women best friends too. Didn’t your gang of girls make school more fun?How would life be ,without the BFF to tell your secrets?Impossible!
The 5 women in my life I am thankful for is a golden prompt
My mom has always put one thought very firmly in my head.Read books .Books that teach, educate ,help motivate and inspire you to grow. The only way to do it all in one lifetime, is learn from other people’s experience us through reading.
Honestly that’s the single most important thing ,that has helped me in my life so far.Read till my eyeballs shut by themselves. Now I google till google sends me a stop message .
My sisterย
The ever thoughtful, and patient little sister who always listened to my rants ,my dreams and lent a shoulder for me to cry .Words are not enough to thank her.We may not agree on a lot ,but life would be a lot different without her.
My best friend ย from school,Rukmini
A ,generous warm-hearted friend who was always there to help me .Her nature had the fragrance of a jasmine. You will remember her even if you don’t see her.One of the few people who could actually make me ย see reason ,even ย when I was seeing red. We haven’t met for the last 17 years (She lives in Canada with her family now ).But I remember her kindness and compassion every day.
#ThankfulThursdays week 18 prompt
My friend Poonam from Medical college
We were very different in some, but very similar in what we wanted from life .We did the same thing in two different ways.Swapped notes ย and found both ways ย of living life ,finding love and happiness started from inside us.She is a friend who canbe trusted to always tell the truth. Not brutally, but honestly ย and kindly. To guide me when my reason failed. To stop me from making a bad situation worse (I tend to do that),by pulling me away from fights .Her role in me finding the love of my life is another story.
Last but not the least my elder Sister in law .Yes you can look sceptical .My husband would be shocked too!I have had borderline fights with her.I still tell her things which a more volatile person may take the wrong way.But living in a small town where you need emergency baby sitting ,plant sitting or someone ย to just chat about where to buy what ,she has been invaluable.
I have learnt one important lesson from almost getting along with my sister-in-law,people are rarely good or bad .They are all shades of grey .
How much darkness ย you see will depend a lot on who is casting the shadow and where you are standing.
The noon sun makes my ย shadow as tall as my six footer hubby!
So yes women make wonderful moms, friends and mentors .But we need to be careful who comes close to our light If their shadow puts you in darkness maybe it’s time to shift .
The prompt this week is interesting .Itโs about silent gratitude. Its about when you don’t acknowledge your thankfulness.
Does it work? Does just feeling thankful work? If you feel thankful in your heart and say something else with your lips ,is it bad? Why do you think Thank you is a golden word? When at school we were taught the three little Golden words
Please ,thank you
and sorry
These 3 together can open all doors for you. When you dont say thank you ,you deny the universe something.
When you dont say thank you,you stop your chances of getting more of the same.
Do you thank your help ?Do you thank your friends?Your spouse and children? When you say thank you people feel appreciated. When someones having a bad day, an unepected thank you will help boost them up. Appreciation is the best way of positive reinforcement.
If you want people to do what you want thank them for their work. If you want to get along with people, the right way ,thank them .
My daughter listens to new chores easily ,when I thank her for her earlier good behaviour.
It’s the little angels birthday on the 23rd of February and she is turning five!Thats something I am very thankful for.Thank you God for always blessing me.

I believe anything that helps me grow positively is for the good and is blessedย by God’s wishes. For me writing on my blog has been a self-healing and self-discovery of sorts.Blogging contests fall right where reading, writing, gardening, and thankfulness comes from.It helps me write, it helps me learn, it helps me push my boundaries and grow my blog.
Over the past oneย year, I have participated in a few contests.I have completed most of them.My take away from them was the community feeling. The feeling there are people just like me, who are struggling to find themselves and their blogs.
You feel like you belong. These are the people who are trying to do more, with what they have, wherever they are. That’s powerful.
4 Blogging communities which I must mention ย Write tribe, Indiblogger, Blogchatter, and Blogadda!
How do these contests help me?
Helps me write and motivates me, even when I am busy and have many excuses for not writing! Its like a slow burn.Writing will be a soothing aloe vera gel!
Helps me promote my blog.Thatโs the power of networking.
It is the best way to get noticed by brands if you are writing useful content.
Did you know the comment links even when no follow have link juices? So reading and commenting on blogs will help to depend on your niche and the quality of the blog in question.
It helps in my blog’s health and my emotional health.
Blogging contests help keep the inertia of writing going.
Newton’s First law: In an inertial reference frame, an object either remains at rest or continues to move at a constant velocity, unless acted upon by a force.
An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same directionย unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.
[bctt tweet=”If you write regularly, you will keep writing .When you stop writing you are at risk of inertia of rest ! #Newton #ThankfulThursdays #Bloggingcontests” username=”misra_amrita”]
The Blogging contestsย I participate in starting from July last year:
Writebravely in August with Write tribe(7 days Daily blogging).
The secret to the health of your blog is your content.Plan it well make it consistent.Make it count. But in the process don’t fall into the inertia of rest and the myth of perfection.

I like learning from other people’s wisdom. That’s a quicker way to get where I want to go.Life is too short to have a trial and error for everything. This is where Bhanu Aroraโs book 10 Essentials to the Blueprint of Happiness is perfect.
Style of writing: It’s a book written in a style like The Go Giver. There are life stories which are engaging while not being preachy. This is followed by observations of the author and then take away points at the end of each chapter.Perfect format. The book’s introduction is in the same style, where the author’s intention behind writing the book is revealed.
He also gives us a quick walk-through of how to use the book to find happiness inside.
Basic theme of the bookย 10 Essentials to the Blueprint of Happinessย
10 Things you can follow in your day to day life both personal and professional(both are heavily interlinked)to live happier.
Knowledge tidbits I loved :
If you want to be happy, you have to first find out about you.Seeking self-knowledge is the first step for being happiness
Try to recollect your childhood. This may help you understand your adult conditioning.Excellent advice.
Surround yourself with supportive positive people.
Positive environment helps in self-improvement
Always be alert for your own well-being.
Always have adequate information from reliable sources.
Gossip is not necessarily negative. It gives us valuable information about nature and lack of workability. It helps to weed out untrustworthy people. This Is an interesting insight.
You need to help others who dream
A healthy marriage helps you live happier.
Overview:
What you do, how you think, who you have around, are all factors which influence your physical, mental and emotional state. This is the framework on which you build your happiness.

Living in a small town in West Bengal after spending my entire life in Kolkata and partly in Delhi, I will be lying if I said I had no regrets.I cried my face swollen with nothing to do except work and home. Then magic happened.
God helped me find the one thing(other than Rai )which could make me be happy effortlessly. Thanks to the internet I am able to read as much as I want.I don’t buy magazines, instead, I read blogs and news online. But I still buy books both e-books and the hold-in -your -hand warm new book kinds.
Now with the internet, I not only read but also write, lend my voice and support causes like this.
So today I am thankful to all those who have made the internet possible. Those who make a good connection possible even in the back and beyond.I am grateful for the open source information which helps me.The Internet is a vast treasure trove for people like me who love learning
I am also grateful that I learned to keep my plants alive by reading all the blogs online. There are people who share such valuable information all the time. It’s because of technology I am able to share my tree love with Parul every Thursdays.
