Mompreneur’s blogging journey (part 10) :Knowtbook lessons & November plans
I love how Amy Lynn Andrews Knowtbook has made my life easier.
Knowtbook is easily the best thing that happened to me.It’s because of her kindness ,that I understood the true essence of blogging .
Help those who need you.I am not an affiliate but I still mention her everywhere.
That’s because she is one of the few bloggers who says it how it is.
Shady is not her style.
3 Things I learnt from Knowtbook this month:
1)I love the look of sliders on websites .
But apparently it slows down the site.
Plus it’s SEO night mare.
So slider out for me.
I don’t want to do anything to make my site non friendly to Google!
2)Canva has a limit to the number of copies of its ebook templates you can use for commercial use.
So what’s the solution for mompreneurs who are bootstrapping ?
Don’t cry ,you have GIMP.It’s an open source software totally free!
3)Blog design for solopreneurs can be a never ending time waster.
After I read this post I calmed down .

Read it .It will help you too.
What did I write this month ?

What am I doing this November?
Daily blogging throughout November . I saw my Alexa improve throughout October .

The global rank has improved . But the India rank is not stable.

I am gardening a lot.It keeps me calm.I have Petunias ,roses ,chrysanthemums ,chillies ,cucumbers and a whole host of beauties in my balcony .

The Dailychatter in October encouraged me to do this too.
My hubby thinks I have lost it.But good habits need blood and sweat. It’s easier for me to sweat in the cooler seasons.
What am I working on ?
My Instamojo shop.Read about it here Media kit template (editable in word):Mompreneur’s blogging journey (part 9)

Health wise

My mom & my hubby .
My mom she is a living example of patience. Fighter in tough times and most caring loving and forgiving lady.
Once even after her entire luggage was stolen ,said coolly ,“I forgive that thief for stealing .That’s his karma and I am forgiving him for my good karm .”
I looked up to her with questioning eyes .SERIOUSLY” she is real gem and learned person I know.
My hubby Mayank is most sweet, caring , understanding and supportive person …name of my blog is given by him. He not only supports me but also sometimes gives me Idea about writing .
If my mom has inspired me and taught me to deal with all situations patiently ,then my hubby inspired me with his sense of humor and his ever jolly nature.
He is an ideal husband <3

How to write away writer’s block:Inspiring Quotes to help
I have blogged for 2 years.Off and on.Mostly off.I was reading a lot .But writing a lot less.
Thinking about writing.Talking about writing. Then I always had something coming up.In this writing and exercising was in the same boat.I spent the entire day thinking about doing one or the other. But always had an excuse.Definitely important ones.
4 months back I wrote 2 posts a month on my blog. That too after thinking for days.
I didn’t think of writers block. Because I didn’t think I was a writer.
But I am a Bengali ,and all Bengali’s love to think they have a few untold stories in them.
Frankly speaking I started writing because my daughter was too young to understand the chatter in my brain.Plus I wanted to give my darling hubby
a break from my rants.
Yes I rant when I don’t have stimulating book, company, events or any thing which my brain can feed on.That’s why I absolutely fell in love with my Blogchatter BFFs .
When you are all looking for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow , it’s fun to have some company.Sharing the gold is good too.Because it actually multiplies infinitely every time you share.
That’s the same with writing. The more I write ,the more I want to write.
It’s not easy. But now I know it’s not easy for anyone.
The best part bloggers always have fun .Because whatever happens it’s a story right!
Like the time on Nabami, when I was standing in a crowded waiting room at the Sealdah station and writing a blog post on my phone. It’s not my best .But I did it.
It helped drown out the noise ,dirt ,and the two-hour wait standing!Luckily( for me ),my daughter napped on her father’s lap.
Me tapping away on the phone.Rai sleeping. My hubby looking shocked (and a tad irritated ) that I was writing standing in the middle of a crowded room. That’s mad . But you need a little madness to want to share your thoughts with random strangers right?
Once upon a time I read Perry Mason everywhere . I wanted to moonlight as a criminal lawyer.
But decided it was easier to do it in the next lifetime.Law books are something I have never attempted reading. And I read everything.
Maybe one day.The same was with writing. One day.
Then in July I did a Blogchatter half marathon daily chatter for 2 weeks.
#MyFriendAlexa challenge for 1 month in September where I wrote 15 posts in 1 month.Definitely more than what I wrote the entire year last
year.
I am doing a #Dailychatter challenge with Blogchatter again .The best part of this is , I am actually able to write everyday. The 500 word thing everyday is a good habit.Try it.
Whenever I read anything on writing it’s like eves dropping inside famous writers head.
I think of myself as work in progress .The following are a few famous quotes which help me ,when my writing brain needs a little push or maybe a shove and some inspiration .
24 Favourite quotes on Writing by writers
“What a writer brings to any story is an attitude…” John Gregory Dunne
Why you must write everyday?
You must write every single day of your life…You must lurk in libraries and climb the stacks like ladders to sniff books like perfumes and wear
books like hats upon your crazy heads….may you be in love every day for the next 20,000 days. And out of that love, remake a world.” Ray
Bradbury
About writer’s block…
Planning to write is not writing. Outlining…researching…talking to people about what you’re doing, none of that is writing. Writing is
writing.” E.L. Doctorow
You only learn to be a better writer by actually writing.” Doris Lessing
If you don’t have time to read, you don’t have the time (or the tools) to write. Simple as that.
Stephen King
Write. Rewrite. When not writing or rewriting, read. I know of no shortcuts.”
—Larry L. King, WD
You can’t think yourself out of a writing block; you have to write yourself out of a thinking block.
John Rogers
If you want to be a writer, you must do two things about all others: read a lot and write a lot…reading is the creative center of a writer’s
life…you cannot hope to sweep someone else away by the force of your writing until it has been done to you.
Stephen King
