Vande Mataram the National song of India completes in 150 years .Its a rallying call for children of. Bharat Varsha .The Government of India is commemorating 150 years of this beautiful and powerful song
Vande Mataram was written by Sri Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay in the 1870s and published as part of his novel Anandamath (1882). The poem (originally six stanzas) was widely used in the freedom movement; two stanzas were adopted as Indiaโs National Song in 1950 .Bankim Chandra was a Nationalist and his Vande Mataram became a rallying cry for all Bharatiya ,fighting the oppressive British rule. His words evoked the image of Mother India that we all Indians have in our heart.
Sri Bankim Chandra described not only Bharat Mata’s beauty but also her power .It starts with mother I submit my prayers to you bowing my head.He imagined her as powerful as Devi Maa Durga, soft spoken, giver of abundance, prosperity and wellbeing like Maa Lakshmi and bestowing knowledge and wisdom like Maa Saraswati. She is fierce with enemies and nurturing to her children. She is fearless in battle but full of love for all those who call her mother. Vande MAtaram is not just a song, its a prayer .
By Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, from Anandamath (1882)

Mother, I bow to thee!
Rich with thy hurrying streams,
Bright with thy orchard gleams,
Cool with the winds of delight,
Dark fields waving, Mother of might,
Mother free!Glory of moonlight dreams,
Over thy branches and lordly streams,
Clad in thy blossoming trees,
Mother, giver of ease,
Laughing low and sweet,
Mother, I kiss thy feet,
Speaker sweet and low,
Mother, to thee I bow!Who hath said thou art weak in thy lands
When the sword flashes out in twice seventy million hands
And seventy million voices roar
Thy dreadful name from shore to shore? With many strengths who art mighty and stored,
To thee I call, Mother and Lord!
Thou who savest, arise and save!To her I cry who ever her foeman drove
Back from plain and sea
And shook herself free.Thou art Durga, Lady and Queen,
With her hands that strike and her swords of sheen;
Thou art Lakshmi lotus-throned,
And Saraswati wisdom-crowned;
Thou art in best of thy sons revealed,
Mother! Mother! Mighty, mild!Terrible in the battle-arrayed,
Swift as a wind, glorious, golden-haired!Mother! Oh Mother!
To thee I bow.Hail to thee, hail to thee, Mother!
Mother, I bow to thee!
Adopted as Indiaโs National Song by the Constituent Assembly in 1950.
Vande Mataram was initially composed independently and later included in Bankim Chandra Chatterjeeโs novel โAnandamathโ (published in 1882).
This song was sung by Rabindranath Tagore at the 1896 Congress Session in Calcutta.
Vande Mataram, as a political slogan, was first used on 7 August 1905.

Did you know about the Mobile Phone Elbow Syndrome? It’s the pain you have aroundย your elbow from too much phone usage .
It has a fancy medical name. Its called Cubital tunnel syndrome or mobile phone syndrome/smartphone musculoskeletal disorders. This condition happens when you hold the phone in a flexed position(bent elbow) for too long. Its a real problem and I am a survivor.
Before I tell you in detail about this ,I have an important disclosure. I started blogging on a Samsung tab way back in 2014 and it was heavy back then. I also had my baby on my left shoulder or lap while I tapped away with one finger ,writing blog posts. So I have over used my device at multiple times.
You can read all about it on my about me page where I break down the sequence of events behind launching Healthwealthbridge. But I digress .The point is,back thenย I avoided holding the tab in one hand because its heavy .But as phones became lighter and blogging became easier on the phone (I could only blog when travelling or multi tasking with some other work) the laptop saw less usage .But even during those days I had no elbow pain.
But as phones became lighter and smarter they got stuck to the palm of the hand and what happened next was destined.
In the summer of 2025 when we were returning rom Bhutan by train(via Alipurduar),I was reading an ebook at night(I couldn’t sleep) holding the phone. When I reached home I was in pain .Its been five months and I am better .I visited an Orthopedic surgeon(my Calcutta Medical College senior Dr.Bapaaditya Ghosh ) who suggested rest ,an elbow brace and taking it easy .Lots of cold fomentation with ice packs, rest and strict discipline with the phone meant I got better .But when I hold the phone for too long or doom scroll it still reminds me of what happened in June.
It took me almost five months to get better and I was very worried because I wasn’t able to lift weights above my head .My favourite form of exercise. The pain returned whenever I tried that . Strangely enough I could still do a wall handstand at an angle.I continued with that.
In a particular position I had
The ulnar nerve in its tunnel gets compressed due to injury, prolonged presssure in a bent elbow position. The National Institute of Health has published a study Ulnar Nerve Entrapment Among Cell Phone Users: Cell Phone Elbow (Cubital Tunnel Syndrome) on this topic .give it a read if you want to know more.
Important thing to remember is that the mobile phone is a good thing. Its how you use it that’s important. Too much of anything can be a problem and just like children are getting addicted to devices ,its not long before this addiction bursts forth as physical symptoms.
Most studies indicate that prolonged use (over 3-4 hours a day) of mobile phones, especially if done in an improper posture or without breaks, increases the risk of upper limb musculoskeletal disorders. However, there is still a lack of consistent, large-scale studies pinpointing an exact number of hours that definitively lead to cubital tunnel syndrome. Factors like posture, frequency of breaks, and ergonomic habits play a significant role.
Hereโs a clinically grounded list of conservative (non-surgical) management tips for cubital tunnel syndrome and mobile phone elbow, synthesized from the key PubMed-indexed research(McGorry 2020; Yadav 2021; Ganesan 2018; AlBaradey 2022; Lee 2020; Robinson 2020; Johnson 2022, etc.).
These recommendations are drawn from systematic reviews and clinical guidelines focused on ergonomics, posture correction, physical therapy, and behavioral modification rather than surgical intervention.
| Category | Key Interventions | Evidence Source |
|---|---|---|
| Activity modification | Limit use, hands-free devices, alternate hands | McGorry 2020; Yadav 2021 |
| Ergonomics | Neutral posture, arm support, padded rests | Ganesan 2018; Lee 2020 |
| Exercise therapy | Nerve glides, stretching | Johnson 2022 |
| Behavioral | Micro-breaks, sleep posture, screen time control | AlBaradey 2022 |
| Physical therapy | Splints, strengthening, physiotherapy | Robinson 2020; Lee 2020 |

The best part of October was the lovely time praying to the Goddess Durga ,spending time with friends and family.
One important information for Writers I just found out.If you have printed your print book through KDP or any other publisher and used their ISBN,you can only print your own books later after getting rights to use that ISBN.
I found this out the hard way ,when I tried print-on-demand through Draft2Digital. But when I published my ebooks wide through Draft2Digital,there was absolutely no problem. For Print books and hard covers seperate ISBNs are needed.A lot to learn .
I am researching the effect of Dopamine addiction and mobile phone usage .Dopamine addiction is real.
Also the pain you have around your elbow from too much phone usage has a name. Its called Cubital tunnel syndrome or mobile phone syndrome. It happens when you hold the phone in a flexed position for too long. Its a real problem and I am a survivor.

I am not a Calm person. But I like a Calm home.I like a home full of potential for exciting work but with a corner for embracing Calm. That’ the reason I paint calm too.
Buy less.Shop from your home.
Have hobbies that are useful for home decor. That way its a wonderful way to have art and craft as part of your life.
Reduce visual clutter and really declutter.
Empty the surfaces.Tops of dressers, cabinets are dust magnets. The less you have on them the easier it is to clean.Have a few pieces and recycle the rest.
Allow everyone to help.
Have a place for everything.
Put away stuff ,not in their places before bedtime.
Give yourself grace for those difficult days.Goblin mode and the Marie Kondo method arrived from the same brain. Her name is Marie Kondo and once upon a time she talked about the Life Changing Magic of Clearing up.We have different seasons in life too.Sometimes leaves need to fall before new ones can truly sprout.Marie married and after she became a mommy ,she realized sometimes goblin mode is the other name for survivor mode.
Love the home you have by Melissa Michaels is a must read too,if you want to love the home where you live.Because home is not just an address its where your heart lives, breathes, loves and sleeps. It’s your haven ,the place where you find calm and peace
Avoid low quality passing trends in home decor.Throwing away decisions are the hardest.Letting go in life and relationships are always an inner battle.
Have green plants around you.
Use calming colours and minimalist prints in your furnishing.
Have art prints with nature inspired art for the full effect.
Have a no-overwhelm cleaning routine .
Buy less.
Your home should be your favorite place.Your place for finding calm.

Colour 4 Iife Contest by Faber-Castell is open globally ,for the first time in 2025. Its an opportunity to show the world how my world looks like. My daughter and I both submitted our art work and we spent a weekend painting together and recording the process .
The interesting part of painting together, is it keeps us both feeling calm .I like painting nature, tree, leaves ,flowers and plants with the occasional landscape. My daughter likes sketching and painting girls .Her style has evolved over the years but she always draws pretty pictures. That’s her things. My thing is usually painting leaves.
The best part about painting is being able to use them for creating customized gifts. That’s the reason I created my blinkstore. Its easy to get started, but I am not sure its visible to the world wide web of holiday shoppers. Reading up all I can about print on demand and selling online is my goal for the rest of the year. Do let me know your plans for the remainder of 2026 .
