The best part of launching your audiobook on YouTube is it’s a wonderful way for self-published authors to get an interested audience. Fiction or nonfiction, you do your thing. But YouTube was started in 2005. Love them or hate them it is a massive searchable network of education, entertainment, and news . You name it and they have it.
Book Blurb: Krishna Mishra is an ex-Army intelligence officer and has MBBS under his belt. Then he specialized in forensic medicine and enrolled in the army. Nowadays, Krishna has his own detective agency. He often teams up with his wife, Ria. She is his best friend, assistant, boss, and famous in her own right. When yesteryear film star Anurag Chatterjee gets involved with a case of misplaced luggage, he meets with detective Krishna Mishra to solve the problem. It looks like a simple case until a brutal murder makes it a race against time to find the motive of a dangerous killer.
When I heard YouTube is now allowing podcast RSS integrations, it made me happy.I not only added both my podcast and RSS to YouTube but also decided to launch my first fiction for free on YouTube. Why not? It was a labor of love writing my first cozy mystery/thriller short story and having published on Amazon was surreal. I never knew I could write fiction, nor did I ever aspire to. But 2020 the pandemic time was a kind of wake-up call.
Do all the things you wouldn’t dream of doing (in a good way)Anyway, I uploaded my entire audiobook Krishna Mishra and the Mysterious Movie Star, on YouTube and added the book blurb in the description box. Shared a link to the ebook and added the relevant tags. This is very early to say whether this will help the series, get more subscribers, or something else. It’s also a gift from me to you. We all need stories in our lives, stories to take us away from the daily stuff and spend a few moments saving the world. If you liked the audiobook do consider giving it a review on Amazon.

If you are a self published author you would probably be happy that your book is selling.I am a very big fan of self publishing through Amazon. If not for KDP I woudnt know how to sell books.I never submitted books to big in small publishers, for the simple reason that I didn’t have the bandwidth to face rejections and earn peanuts. Life has it’s challenges without writing books becoming one of them.
But what happens when unauthorized people sell the paperback(or other) version of the book on Amazon?
You lose sale ,royalty.
What happens if they are bad quality versions?
You lose a reader and a potential bad review.
So What can you do?
Two of my nonfiction books and 1 fiction book seem to attract such spurious publishers and sellers.
Every day there is some new published doing this.
Whenever I find such a thing I add the book to my cart.
Message the Amazon chatbot about the issue.
The chatbot says he has no idea ,how to respond and would I like to contact the seller.
I answer yes.
Usually the seller responds saying he had no idea about this and he has imported these books from USA .My books being published in USA and imported to India sounds like a dream. One was priced at 14000 INR and discounted to 1000 something.Seriously what are these people doing with the everything store is anyone’s guess.
Usually the seller says he will stop selling that .
The same thing happens after a few days or months.I repeat the sequence of events.
I wonder why Amazon doesn’t do due diligence for their sellers who are selling counterfeit, unauthorized Copyrighted content .Amazon KDP is a wonderful opportunity for self publishing. Things like these will make it unprofitable and not worth the trouble in the long run.
Also did you read about what Jane Friedman the famous author(The Business of Being a Writer)found books with her name on them which was not hers and Amazon asked her whether she had a copyright to her name! She didn’t and that started an avalanche of questions which you can definitely read about if you google the topic.
Have you ever faced something like this?

My first blog post: ON “GOOD work, Secret Seven”
Hello Everyone! I am Little Miss A. Misra. I am the daughter of Dr.Amrita Basu and Dr.Abhijit Misra , the people behind this website. Nice to meet you! I am launching the Children’sCorner on the blog.
Now, let me tell you a little bit about myself. Just a little bit. I promise it’s not going to be a lengthy autobiography.
I adore books. Half my house is full of books. Seriously. We could open a library if we wanted to. Every day, after lunch, I simply HAVE to sit in my room and read a book. Mostly I read Enid Blyton, Roald Dahl, and Ruskin Bond.
I really like to paint and draw Anime. But mainly Anime GIRLS. I doubt I’ve drawn more than 5 boys in my life. And they were all of my father while drawing a family picture.
Anyways, moving on! I also enjoy gardening. We have two balconies, and it is bursting with greenery. It’s an attraction to birds, butterflies, and sometimes bees. In school, when a bee buzzes around us, everyone is divided into three groups. One group: The scared one, whose eyes keep following the bee to see if it’s near. Number Two: I must catch it with my book! (Or pretend to!)
Third group: The teacher who says it’s fine, why is everyone making a fuss?
Okay, the Introduction is done!
Let’s start today’s topic: ” Good work, Secret Seven” by Enid Blyton
In this book, the adventurous group ” Secret Seven”( Consisting of Peter, Janet, Pamela, Barbara, Jack, George, and Colin, along with Scamper the Dog) is getting ready for bonfire night. Once, while in Colin’s shed, risked their lives, because it caught fire suddenly, because of a candle! After having tea at a nanny’s home, their father comes to pick them up in a car from there. But, when he suddenly stops and tells them to wait a minute, two rogues unexpectedly steal it, and drive off!
Poor Peter and Janet were hiding and very scared. The people who stole the car, stopped it, in the dark, and went away. The two children come out and go to the telephone booth and call their father, wanting to tell the police. He came immediately and laughed at the idea.
Pro’s:
1. It’s quite exciting, especially the parts where Peter is dressed as Guy Fawkes
2. The book is very descriptive. I can picture everything in my mind.
3. All the chapters are very good, I keep wanting to read what’s next.
Con’s
1. The book is not AS funny as the others in the series
2. Some characters, like Barbara and Colin don’t do much, or say more than a sentence here. Even Scamper the golden spaniel has more parts than them
My review Rating:
4.5 out of 5 stars
This book is amazingly written, with lovely descriptions and wonderful construction. Would suggest for a good read. The only thing is that it is not as funny as the other books in this series, and some characters have no role in the book at all!
But, again, it makes me want to have such amazing adventures with friends. They never seem to happen!
Conclusion:
Wonderful Book!
That’s it. I have nothing else to say.
Well, goodbye today, and will meet you next week!
Cheers!

My favorite author forever is still Enid Blyton.Even now my idea of a comfort read is revising one of the Famous Fives and Five find outer mysteries.
Her birthday was on 11th of August and this wonderful author born 126 years ago ,continues to make children all over the world happy.Born on 11th August 1897.She died on 28th November 1968 leaving behind a legacy of selling more than 600 million copies of her book worldwide.
Her work one is of the most translated of children’s authors and is available in 90 languages.
My daughter, her friends discuss the Faraway tree and Find outer like they are next door neighbors. You can’t believe the fun I have picking out books for the young Enid Blyton fans .Her books are a necessary read if you want to encourage creative thinking, out of the box brain storming and give children the ability to dream.
The school stories of Malory towers helped me plan many school picnic meals. The wishing chair was the inspiration behind buying my own rocking chair .Every morning I sneak a peak at its feet to check whether it will sprout wings, because you never know right?
We all need a little bit if magic and a lot of laughter in our daily lives.Children also need their stories to be full of adventure, wisdom and hope .They may not be children of today ,they may be children from another continent another time ,but children will be children .
Many so called literary critics have various issues with her work and the extensive changes in the new editions of her book is unnecessary to say the least.
My daughter started reading during the pandemic and she is now rereading some of these series .It’s fun discussing the characters with her and I will forever be grateful to Enid Blyton for making my childhood full of picnic lunches by the stream ,birthday party in clouds and my love for trees and nature .
Famous Five series
Secret seven series
Five Find outer series
The Enchanted Wood series

The next mystery you will get to solve with me from the Krishna Mishra Mystery series is Gold in Goa.
I always wanted to do a book cover reveal but felt shy. I always wanted to write a cozy mystery but felt shy.Blogchatter’s Ready to Publish challenge in June helped me by giving me the nudge to get started with the important part about sharing my #wip.
In my everyday life, I am not shy at all. But this creative stuff brings out my unknown shyness.
It’s weird I know . But that’s the way it is.
On another note, yesterday my daughter gave me a very interesting observation. After hearing one of my silly random jokes (which was backed by science) she giggled and said :
Daughter:Maa ,I know what’s missing in your podcast?
Absent minded Me (doom scrolling):”What ?“Daughter:Maa your silly jokes which makes me laugh. You don’t Crack a single joke on your podcast .
Me(No more absent-minded):Hmm,but health is serious .
And “laughter is the best medicine” was the parting shot from someone I gave birth to! Incidentally, she is a fan of the Reader’s digest series of the same name.
Imagine that.
So going forward I will try to not let information weigh you down. I don’t know about jokes, because the balance of appropriate and inappropriate gets very hazy in today’s world. I have no intention of creating a ruckus. But I have the best intentions.
Sharing a few tweet microstories I once shared on Twitter. #Tiniature Stories was a contest by Gayatri Gadre
I started writing to share what I knew about health and wellness. But I ended up writing about many other things which I learned while writing about those “important things”.
Bottom line: We are multidimensional and I hope you will give me your feedback about this book cover and what is the story that comes to your mind when you look at it!
Writing this with the Ultimate Blog Challenge friends in a desperate attempt to stay afloat.
P.S.: My daughter just finished her periodic assessment tests yesterday and I can’t help feeling I deserve a medal.
