If you don’t find what you are looking for ,create it.That’s exactly the reason I created this resource. My mother taught me to sew, knit, crochet. It was also a part of the crafting classes back in school.I thought it was a bore back then ,but when I started hand crocheting in the middle of crazy ,I knew there was something about using your hands to find calm.

Hand Sewing – Step by Step
- Tools: assorted needles, threads, pins, small scissors, thimble, tape measure, tailor’s chalk.
- First Skills: threading a needle, tying a secure knot, learning how to hold fabric and maintain even tension.
- Basic Stitches: running stitch, backstitch (for stronger seams), slip-stitch (invisible hems), whip/overcast stitch, blanket stitch.
- Practice: Spend 20-30 minutes per stitch on scrap fabric to build muscle memory and consistency.
- Mini Projects: Drawstring pouch, simple pillowcase, fabric face mask, patching a tear. Press your seams flat using an iron for a neat finish.
Singer Machine Sewing – Step by Step
- Know your machine: spool pin, bobbin case, presser foot, feed dogs, tension dial, stitch selector.
- Set up: Wind a bobbin, insert it into the case, thread the top thread (follow your manual), set stitch length.
- Practice stitches: straight stitch, reverse stitch, zigzag. Use scrap fabric and test stitch quality and tension.
- Control & Technique: Sew using marked seam allowances (¼″, ½″, 1 cm). Learn to pivot corners: stop with needle down, lift presser foot, rotate fabric, lower presser foot, continue.
- Starter Projects: Tote bag, elastic-waist skirt, cushion cover, simple blouse (pattern-based) – combine machine sewing + hand finishing if desired.
