I am a big fan of India.I recognize the challenges but feel grateful everyday  for being born here.It’s not  just a country.Its a culture ,a 5000 year old civilization which had so many people attacking and looting it, with episodes of genocides no one talks about.We are still putting those bits together.Finding out what really happened.

But Bharat is antifragile,she survived and gradually started thriving.Though the price of freedom was high.

Growing up I  realized that some of those history books were written by those who were paid to cover up the atrocities.They stayed rich  inspite of the abject poverty  after Independence.The same stories your great grandfather,grand mother and their friends talked about .Like the Great Calcutta Killing ,the Bengal Famine ,why India was divided and how certain words and acts were included in the constitution without due process.

That’s also  freedom.Freedom of knowing what really happened.Freedom of finding out from libraries.Freedom to talk about it.

I am free .I can write about it.

I could study what I wanted.

Become a doctor and practice my profession.

Become a mother.

Raise a child.

Plant trees.

Water a garden

Cook my meals

Build a business

Take care of home 

Dream of a better future .

No lines for cutting train,plane,movie tickers

No lines for paying phone bill ,electric bill.

Ability to get anything delivered anywhere in India.

Affordable mobile phone and data plans.

More schools,colleges,industries  

 Freedom from the AI bubble which crashed the South Korean Stock market and is a cause for concern  for many .

Freedom of using my own car ,even in the middle of the Iran war.

Freedom of installing Solar panels for my clinic.

Freedom to say,buy, travel ,work,learn,do what I want.Within reasons.

India is diverse.Its diversity is not forced and requires no finger pointing.Freedom is not without rules and that’s something all sensible,responsible citizens understand.

Abusing your boss,father,mother,teacher,friend,chief minister,prime minister is not freedom.It makes you unemployable  and a social pariah in more ways than one.Listening to people whose bank balance are directly funded by anti -India forces is in a losers best interest.

The constitution is not a suicide pact.Freedom for one person shouldn’t be dangerous for the safety of the other.True nature of freedom is the appreciation of how far India has come.Its not a report card,its how you feel inside.Look to the countries who are as old as Bharat.Do their citizens  enjoy freedom,respect,admiration and facilities and opportunities like Indians?

Definitely not.There in lies your answer.

I see an India rising from the ashes like a Phoenix.

I see an India walking on the path of Righteousness.

I see an India whose citizens all remember #SwacchBharat

I see a Nuclear power India

I see a self suffiecient ,green India

I see an India where education both quality and access is truly equal.

I see an India free from addictions

I see an India Healthy,Wealthy and Wise.

I see an India where citizens ask what can I do for India?Not just what India can give me !

A country is truly free when internal forces are in harmony.For that you need to remember the following words.

Reason

Sensibility

Education

Civilization

Context

History

Righteousness 

Duties

Care

Empathy
