January means New Year and New Year is often full of new promises. New ways of getting healthier, a little bit better, and a lot richer by following new how-to’s, new Gurus, and the shiniest social media challenge . But sometimes you don’t need new Gurus, you can just listen to your body and start living a little better every day. I tell my patients this very thing, every time they come back with the same problem. With season changes extreme party overload leading to cold, flu, sinusitis, reflux, and myriad aches and pains.
Should you grow your own greens? Can you grow them on your balcony? It’s not rocket science and I break the myth about gardening being difficult Do salads help in healthy eating? Do they help in satiety? When should you eat salads? Before, along or after main meals? This question was answered. The energy from food depends on how fresh it is sourced and how it is cooked. If you keep this one thing in mind, you will understand why eating fresh and eating local is a no-brainer. You need to understand the why at its simplest level and then the whole processed food industry will stop making sense. This is part of a three-part series where I share how I incorporate fresh greens in my daily meal easily.
