I studied very hard for most of my life to become a doctor .

Then one day I become a Mommy .I realized life will never be the same again .

I always choose skin care products carefully ,as I have sensitive skin. But for my baby I am obsessive.I do intensive googling and brainstorming with my husband ,to choose only the best product for my baby.

3 Things I always do before using any new products:

Read reviews online and product label/Product description.
If I don’t know about any component,I check several scientific research articles about the ingredients.
Use it on my skin after skin testing.
If these steps don’t raise any worries the product is used on baby after skin testing

I was asked to try the BABY FIRST soap and powder .Both the products went through all these steps ,before I was satisfied enough to write a review

BABY FIRST BABY POWDER

Ingredient:

It is FDA approved product and has Aloe vera extract, corn starch and talc.Aloe vera extract has 75 potentially active constituents like vitamins, enzymes, minerals, sugars, lignin, saponins, salicylic acids and amino acids.(Ref) .Aloe vera helps in moisturizing the skin and acts as an antiseptic agent.Aloe vera has 6 antiseptic agents. They all inhibit action of fungi, bacteria and viruses.Recently, the novel anti-inflammatory compound called C-glucosyl chromone was isolated from Aloe vera gel extracts.(Ref)

Mucopolysaccharides in aloe extract , bind moisture to the skin. Aloe also stimulates fibroblast production,which in turn produces collagen and elastin fibers.This makes skin elastic and reduces redness.

The corn starch and talc protect against frictional injury due to clothes and diaper..It’s very fine and soft to touch.Easily absorbed and leaves behind a delicate baby fragrance .It’s perfect for hot humid climate where the baby needs to be kept comfortable and avoid getting itchy.

The package:

I loved the grip of the baby powder plastic bottles .The 3 finger grip on either side ,makes it very easy to hold . It prevents slipping even if you are in a hurry.The mandatory cute baby pic makes this product easily recognizable.

The powder is available in a convenient 100gm pack.

BABY FIRST BABY SOAP

The baby soap is totally animal fat free made up purely of vegetable fat. It also contains vitamin E making it perfect for the tender skin of your little angel .It cleans gently while bathing ,with a soft foam without drying .

Best parts it is FDA approved and does not contain any unnecessary ingredients. The baby soap packaging I felt could be better .
Overall a great experience using both the products .Definitely recommended .

The soap is available in 100gm,50gm and 25 gm packs.

Google likes fresh content.But what with writing , researching getting images tailored for the log and sharing on social media writing every day can seem difficult if not downright impossible.

That’s why most big websites have an option of guest posting .Guest posting on sites with good domain authority will help you improve your site’s value in Google eye.

How does that happen?

Generally guest posts are allowed one link in their author bio .This link is to their blog and may be to their twitter handle .

So that’s great right ?

Yes , it’s great .But the main problem is people get into two minds about guest posting .

Shouldn’t they write to increase their own blogs content ?

Yes you should .But in early days of your blog your traffic and regular readers may not be enough to do justice to your content.That’s when guest posting on authority sites help .

What do you look for when you guest post?

What’s the DA of the site ?Check ahref .It should definitely be better than yours .Previously alexa was a big deal.But nowadays its importance is being re evaluated .But still definitely look at the Alexa of the site you want to guest post at.

Whether the blog is in my niche?

Is my audience here ?

Check buzzsumo for most shared content for that blog.You will get an idea what kind of topic does well there.

What should you do then ?

Write an amazing post on a well researched topic with preferably a wonderful tailor made opt in ready for the audience which comes from the other site .

Do not use churned content.This is the most important thing to remember.You want to make a great impression on the audience and the blog owner .Using second-hand content is the best way to put people off.

Should you allow guest post on your site ?

Guest posts on your site can be perfect for the times you want to go on a vacation .

What should you know before accepting a guest post ?

1)Whether the author is using this guest post as a sponsored post ?

2)If it has a link to a site which sells something or a brand page be careful about allowing them to post on your site for free.It will appear as a sponsored post .

3)Is it original content ?

None of us like churned content.

There’s a reason why Ezine article directories are no longer popular.Having a lot of duplicate content on your site is plain bad news for your site’s ranking and authority. While it’s great to trust people to be honest,you have to be careful with your baby ,hubby ,family and blog .

Do you want your good name to be under scrutiny ?

Even worse Google may give you a penalty for having such content on your site .At worst you may be blacklisted ?

So what should you check before accepting guest posts for your site ?

Does it fit your audience interest?

Is it original content ?

Plagiarism checker free tools are available online .

You can also use copyscape to check the content after privately publishing it .

Also don’t forget to use Google to check whether content is copied?

Just type the title in the search bar and see what Google throws up .

Then read through at least some of the posts to see whether your guest post is inspired or churned?

Sometimes the plagiarism checker can’t tell if the language is changed keeping the content same.Believe me these things happen.It has happened with me!Professional churners know exactly what to do.

Also some people may offer you authorship and money for guest posting on your site .Again it may look lucrative but don’t forget to check.Why would someone guest post and give you authorship ?

That’s because their names may be blacklisted by Google .Content churning can make google search results of poor quality .That’s why Google actively stops that by penalizing sites and authors who does that .

Simple Rules for guest posting on my site

I never accept churned , duplicate content .No amount of money will help you with this one , so don’t try it.

Check the niches specified for my blog . I accept guest posts on health,wellness, lifestyle , parenting , travel and blogging tips targeted for women.

I accept only well written and researched articles with proper references cited(depending on topic).

Only submit articles ,whose copyright you have.

After publishing on my site all rights are mine.

For sponsored posts please mention upfront.

For guest posts linking back to paid content and service pages, terms and conditions vary.

There’s something about love.Just something few understand and even fewer get.Love is deeply interlinked to our health and well-being. People can die of a broken heart!

There’s real science to back up this claim.I wrote about how being social is good for your mental health.

The same holds true for love.Loving is great for your emotional well-being. But be careful .It needs to be balanced and reciprocated for – health benefits.

I am thankful for love in my life .

Love for The Almighty .

Love for this beautiful life.

Love for my daughter ,my family.

Love for nature and books.

Love for learning and challenges.

Love for serving.

Love for sharing.

Love for always trying .

Love is like air.You really can’t live without it.

When all your wishes come true ,everything becomes empty if you can’t share with someone you love.

That’s the beauty of love.

The truth of the universe.God loves us and that’s why he wanted us to feel love. That’s one emotion which can only be expressed by someone, who has loved.

To be loving is good .

To have loved is great.

But to have experienced reciprocation in your love …that’s something to be thankful for this #ThankfulThursday.

#Thankful Thursdays week 14:For not being

This week is thankfulness with a twist.
We are thanking God for all the things we are not ,or for all things we thankfully don’t have.

Doesn’t that sound interesting?

When you focus on the good it increases.When you focus on the evil that grows more powerful. So what are you focusing on today ?

I am thankful for
Not being lazy.
I have immense amount of energy for all interesting work .But I can fall asleep standing, if something doesn’t interest me.Now that makes a lot of people angry!

But isn’t life to be lived?

If you spend it doing half-hearted boring work ,when do you actually have fun?

After becoming a mommy I found that the 90% repetitive mommy chores were made easier by the cuddle ,hugs and kisses .

That’s when I decided to use this rule for my other chores .If I get some mind numbing boring chore (like sorting the folded clothes) done, then I get to spend an hour doing something I love.

That’s how I cut off ,the bit of lazy tail I had !

Not being pessimist.
There’s a fine line between a die-hard optimist and a fool .Yes a very fine line indeed.That’s why I am a planned optimist.I have a mind blueprint I follow ,to get the best out of every situation.

I leave no stones unturned ,to do a thing to my very best .Then if it doesn’t happen I have no regrets!

I row for the shore and always pray to God.

Now if you have read about my journey so far ,you know it wasn’t always a bed of roses .

I had made errors of judgement with serious fallout twice .Both times I was too optimistic. Even when all other signals told me to pull back.

But if you have ever seen a bull in a China shop you will know me.That’s how I am with a project .I tend to take down all obstacles till the project gets done.

But now I am more graceful(I think). The 3 greys in my hair seem to have brought me wisdom.

Now I practice all that I want to say or do on my hubby and my group of best buddies and if they look really shocked I let it marinate in my brain.

After a few days /weeks /months of marinating I take out the idea again and chew over it .If it feels like a good idea even then, I make a step by step plan .

Then I bore my hubby again till we have chiselled away all the rough edges of the plan .

That’s how I started this blog .

I read somewhere that we all need at least 1 person in our life who is sceptical of our plans . Preferably in a kind way, not in a mean way.When that person agrees to your plan ,run with that.

Not being in a bad relationship
Relationships and politics are both murky.Some relationships we are born with .Some we make .Whatever it is ,we need trust in it.Allow space for it to grow.After your parents ,your adult relationship with your partner /spouse will depend a lot on you.

Did you choose well?

Did you want an exciting person who did things suddenly ,giving you wonderful surprises? But what if he forgets to be there during your tooth extraction?

Did you want a fairytale destination wedding that would need you paying off your debt for 10 years afterwards.

Did you want a friend who would hold your hand,go for an adventure with you and give you TLC when you had fever?

Did you want a good person? Or a mysterious person ,whose truth and lies were always difficult to perceive.

If you have read Mills and Boon at any time , then the tall, dark, silent, angry hero always seems highly desirable.

Cut back to reality .Marrying an uncommunicative mysterious person may give you more stress than anything else .

Not being a non believer
Have you read Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow rich ?

If you haven’t read it now.

It’s important that you believe in God and have faith in yourself to get all things done. To conquer inner battle and outer wars.

Your mind is a powerful magnet .The thoughts radiating from it ,create an electromagnetic field which attracts the external manifestation of that thought.

Fortunately or unfortunately man is still not able to control his mind.Because our mind has the capacity for great good and great evil.Not being unhealthy.Health is your true wealth.Doctors have some of the most unhealthy lifestyles.

Blame it on our conditioning during training.I blame it on India’s population. There seems a never ending amount of people needing your care.

That’s why I make a conscious effort to eat healthy, sleep and exercise. I also read write and garden to get the lifestyle disease monster out of my life!

Can your mattress give you pain ?

There is little evidence to establish the link between TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint) pain and the type of mattress you use.However, there is sizeable proof that substantiates the connection between a disturbed sleep and TMJ pain.

The size and type of the mattress you select depends on your personal preferences. But it plays a vital role in your sleep quality and time.

Mattresses are made from different materials like coils, coir, spring, foam, and hypoallergenic. There is a mattress for every body type depending on the size, weight, and sleeping style. Those suffering from body pain and sleep disorders can experience a lot of discomfort if they have been sleeping on the wrong mattress. A wrong mattress can be the potential cause of TMJ problems and can keep you tossing and turning in the bed all night long.

Poor sleep often leads to the tightening of your jaw muscles, excessive grinding, and clenching of the jaw. These symptoms are a clear indication of an underlying problem arising due to poor sleep.

Is Your Sleeping Position Right?

Many if not most, spend at least 8 hours a day sleeping. Sleeping for eight hours in a detrimental position could be quite unhealthy for your body. It can lead to the onset of TMJ and if you are already suffering from chronic TMJ pain, it could worsen your medical condition.

How Your Sleeping Position Contributes To Chronic Pain?

If you have been sleeping on your stomach, it is likely that you experience severe jaw pain because it exerts pressure on your jaw and pushes it into the skull if you are sleeping with your head forward.

If you sleep on your stomach with your head resting on either side, you are pushing your jaw laterally and this exerts a lot of tension on the jaw muscles leading to pain and discomfort. Even if you sleep on your sides, it will still cause some amount of jaw pain due to lateral pressure. The best position is to sleep on your back because this will ensure that your head is restfully placed on a pillow that provides adequate support to your head and the curve of your neck.

The Right Way to Sleep If You Suffer From Neck and Shoulder Pain

If you wake up with debilitating shoulder pain every morning, you need to know that the actual cause of pain is the faulty positioning of your neck. Shoulder pain results due to a misalignment of your neck which radiates to the shoulders. Sleeping on your back can also alleviate your neck pain. If it increases your snoring, you can also sleep on your sides. Soft cushions that support the curve of your neck will reduce your neck pain. Avoid using multiple pillows and ensure that you don’t keep your head too high.

Home remedies should always be the first line of treatment for minor aches and pains. Try incorporating a healthy sleeping habit for a week and if the pain does not subside even after that, you need to seek professional care.

A good sleep rejuvenates your system, re-energizes your body, and repairs your muscles overnight. Sleep is crucial in curing TMJ pain and those who get into the habit of sleeping in the right position can experience a significant relief from the painful symptoms.

The stresses and strains exerted on the neck, head, jaw, and spine can lead to teeth clenching, grinding, and tightening of oral muscles. They way you sleep can influence the alignment of your head and neck and this can be either beneficial or detrimental depending on your position.

The Best Way to Sleep for a TMJ Patient

Lying on your back is beneficial for every part of your body including your jaw. It offers adequate support to your neck and head. Sleeping on your back provides a favorable alignment that keeps your neck and spine in a neutral position and you are less likely to grind your teeth or clench your jaw during sleep. Ensure that your pillow is placed under the arch of your spine and your mattress is designed to mould with your body contours.

Your sleeping position is a key factor in pain management. TMJ patients can also visit a comprehensive dental care facility for TMJ disease treatment if pain persists.

I am an app addict.

I love android phones, because of the truly great selection of Google play store apps.
All the apps I use are free and have saved me countless hours of irritations.
The best part they make my phone my virtual best friend.

My phone and the apps :uses
It helps me blog anywhere
It helps me shop anywhere.
It helps me give virtual medical consultation anywhere.

This #ThankfulThursdays
when I started writing about my favourite apps I had a tough time narrowing it down.

Note taking app:Blogging BFF

Evernote is the undisputed favourite. Its a note taking free app with awesome search and organisation features.
The free plan lets you sync your account across two of your devices.That way you never lose your notes from one device to another.
Evernote also lets you share and collaborate notes among team members ,through their system .

Why I love Evernote
It has unlimited memory .
You can make unlimited folders/notebooks .
It has a sophisticated ,multiple keyword search feature .It also allows searching for keyword in articles ,if you have forgotten the title.
I have been using Evernote since 2013 and I absolutely love it.

Picmonkey Photo Editing app

You must have heard of Picmonkey tool for photo editing.
Did you know it also has a truly superb app?

This will help you make customized graphics for Instagram, twitter,Pinterest .
They have template options ,stickers,overlays ,text options to pretty up your blog graphics right from your phone.
I stumbled on this one about 5 months back and has made my life much easier.
At least my posts are not without their featured images!
Only negative:
If you have made a mistake and saved it then there are no undo button.You have to cancel,restart editing from scratch.Thats a bummer ! But the upside is you are more mindful.

Planning on making a quick pdf to share with your blog readers ?
It was never easier .
Click images of your content and upload in this app.Then make it a Pdf .That’s how easy it is.
Only negatives :
The first page of your book should be clicked last. A little problem also while selecting the pics.

Snapdeal

I love the amazon site .But when it comes to the app somehow we never became friends.
I have spent many a happy hours filling up my shopping basket with the Snapdeal App.

Lybrate App

This one I use ,to give consultation online .
The best part there’s one for patients too.
The app let’s me store the chats I have with my patients and also their medical information.
It takes booking appointments, sending reminders and health info to my patients hassle free.
