10 Things I would do if I were a Superwoman
My fondest wish is one day, someone will discover my superpowers.
Like Dumbledore found Harry.
Someone will tell me I have magical powers, I just needed to train.
That it’s suppressed magic, waiting to unfurl.
There is a long list of things I would do.
One post is too short.
But I have to start somewhere.
This weekend,a list of 10 things I would do if I were a Superwoman.
#1 If I were a superwoman I would expect people,to stop polluting the air water and soil.
Tell them to stop noise pollution
Who makes a mess of their own home?
Mother earth is our home.
Don’t make it dirty.
#2 If I were a superwoman I would teach everyone to fly. It’s important to learn basic flying . You can fly at different levels and there’s less traffic.
#3 If I were a superwoman I would put an invisible shield around India, to protect us from terrorist attack.A shield that will work as a boomerang.
#4 If I were a Superwoman I will make all mothers the choice of working from home or from the office.
#5 If I were a superwoman I would make Child abusers and rapists have exemplary punishments . The type of punishment will never allow them or others to repeat the crime.
#6 If I were a superwoman I would tell our PM that we need a ban on, the lack of family planning and population explosion.
If you have 10 kids there’s no way you or the government can help you.
We just don’t have enough cloth to go around.
If I were a superwoman I would zip zap zoom population explosion. Because unmanageable numbers make, poverty, illiteracy, and poor health impossible to tackle.
#7 If I were a superwoman I would want all women, to see through the nonsense and lies people tell. That way they can protect themselves from marrying the riff-raffs and all the heartbreaks that go with it.
#8 If I were a Superwoman I would tell people, that having faith and hope can help you have superpowers too. So never stop believing in yourself and the almighty.
#9 If I were a Superwoman I would tell you the secret to staying young and beautiful forever.
The only way is to keep your heart kind and loving, your soul innocent and your mind forever learning. To read and learn. Always, forever.
#10 If I were a Superwoman I would make chocolates that have zero calories and zero side effects.
It would be jam-packed with deliciousness, vitamins, and probiotics and taste even better.
If I were a superwoman I will tell you the truth, without having a thought about political correctness.

Thankful Thursday:25 days of Christmas
Thankful Thursdays is one of the best ways to practice thanking the almighty for everything she/he does for us.Why is it important to thank?Thanking is one way of remembering all the good things that happen to us.
When you are thankful, you open yourself up , to endless possibilities of goodness.
It’s Christmas season and what better way to gear up.
The more you say thank you , more chance of Santa being happy with you.
Adults don’t really believe in Santa. But I have found faith and hope to be very powerful.
If you are working hard and praying hard, there’s very little in the world which is unattainable.
For # Thankful Thursdays this week we are writing to show appreciation for all the gadgets/appliances at home, that make our life easier. What are those wonders which make homemaking easier for you?
I am a reluctant house manager.I like doing the pretty chores.Gardening , occasional cooking and decorating are things I enjoy. But washing clothes! My God! It haunted me in Delhi during my PG days. The chill of Delhi winters and cloth washing horrors.
I didn’t have a washing machine back then.
Living in a 1 room in a hostel didn’t have the space for a washing machine.Nor did I earn enough on my stipend to buy one.
I had a kind old woman named Martha who did the rooms and washed clothes. If I was asleep after my night duty and didn’t open my door, she waited.Sitting patiently outside my room on the stairs she waited for me to wake up and give her clothes to wash.I don’t know what I would have done without her.
It’s been 7 years I still remember her.
The first thing I did when we moved to a proper flat.Buy a washing machine.
Easily my favourite home appliance.
I give a silent thank you, every time I load the clothes into the machine.
The Second one
I hardly ever cooked before 2007 April. This is specific because that’s when I moved to Delhi.
Delhi training was more than just my postgraduate degree. It was a housekeeping learning curve.
A very steep curve.I was not yet married.Cooked only the very basic stuff.
Had to get a gas oven to have the occasional Maggi when the canteen downstairs made inedible food.Overall I managed.Just managed.
I got married in 2008.My hubby was a better cookBut I wanted him to be awestruck by my all-round talent. He was not awestruck! But he was kind.He ate all my experimental food .
Plus we had friends over who hated the canteen food so much, that my simple meals made them happy.Getting confident I wanted to buy a microwave with OTG . I bought it finally in 2009 on a 0% EMI through Bajaj finance.
Why do I remember such details?
I remember because then, I had to count my pennies.Save up.Live without small luxuries to get those appliances. But we did it.Plus we enjoyed our life more.
Enjoyed them more ,because they were deeply appreciated .That habit of saving up to buy something special ,is a great one. Most financial fitness gurus like Dave Ramsay will tell you the same thing .It’s called the envelope system .Remember the money saving trick I told you about? That’s saved using this technique.Since these are small denomination currency the Noteban was not a problem.
The 3rd thing that I am thankful for is my Samsung Tablet and wifi .Have to mention them together .Without them I wouldn’t have started blogging.Ever.A 2-year-old would never allow mommy to play alone ,with an interesting toy like a laptop .
If not for my tablet and wi-fi, my story would be different .What are your favourite 3 gadgets at home ?Write a post and Link Up now.

Mompreneur’s blogging journey: Why do you blog?(13)
People blog for different reasons.
For some it’s a personal diary .
For some it’s a way to share stories with friends and families, all over the world.
For some it’s a part of their business .
And for some blog is a way to make their dreams come true.
I belong to this last category.
Dreaming is great .The problem comes when you have to chalk out a plan for making the dream a reality .
When I became a doctor it helped me fulfill two dreams at the same time.
One was to help people .
Another was to help my mom and support our family
I could earn from the moment I was an intern.
Knowing my income was not dependant on other people giving me jobs, was a relief.
Blogs have that little magic too.
What and how much you can earn from your blogs depend on what you are willing to do.
If you are in a rut.
Find out your why.
This December I am sharing with you all the ways blogs earn.

Life After Radiotherapy for Head Neck Cancer: 5 Things to improve quality of life
- Appearance
- Diet
- Supplements
- Hygiene
- Sleep ,exercise,meditation
For appearance
- Wigs for women help a lot to tide over. Good quality wigs help to keep looking good without feeling the stress of changing appearance. Cancer treatment is difficult. There’s no easy way to deal with it except be prepared with the best help you have. As a doctor, I always encourage my patients to concentrate on self-care and appearance. That always helps in boosting up the morale and has a wonderful effect on healing.
Divatress has an extensive selection of Lace Front Wigs, Full Wigs, Half Wigs, Hair Extensions. They are 100% Remy Human Hair and looks natural. That’s a big help you just want to feel better again. Wigs help in bridging the gap.
Because women need to feel good about themselves. That’s the first step in getting better. The best part you can change your hairstyle every month and not worry about using harsh chemicals and styling to look good. While your natural hair heals and grows back, having a little help to look and feel good is the right way to do it. Feeling good about own self and looking good has a way of releasing the feel good-hormones which helps.
- Natural hair care and skin care. The more you go back to natural products, the better it is. The best part about natural products is they can be as easy as using the homemade curd as a hair pack. Hot oil therapy at home with coconut oil can go a long way in providing much-needed nutrition to your hair.
For diet:
- A diet rich in fruits and veggies are important.
- Don’t forget to include prebiotics and probiotics to rehabilitate the friendly bacteria in the gut.
- Avoid excessive spice food smoking or alcohol. All these make healing difficult.
Supplements
- Have multivitamins and multiminerals for supplementing nutrition and help your cells recover. Using Vitamin E mixed with hair oil helps improve hair quality.
- Antioxidants play a big role in helping your cells recover.
For the Mind
- Meditation and exercise have a big role to play.
- Take up a hobby.
- Garden, draw, write. Creativity helps you heal faster.
- Read books filled with optimism.
Immunity and Hydration
- Drink adequate water because drying of the mucosa increases after radiotherapy.
- Take care of your hygiene. Immunity being lower, you need to be very careful about using a public washroom.
Remember radiotherapy rays help kill the evil cancer cells, but your brave soldier cells get a beating too. To help them recover you need to give them a helping hand.

Kohleyed.me Shalini the Blogging diva and soldiers wife
When I interview bloggers I find we all have a common thread .
We want our voices to be heard, from whichever corner of the earth we call home.
Travelling with family ,travelling for work ,living anywhere on this planet your blog becomes your digital home.
The place which is always there for you.
Women specially have a genetic tendency to put down roots
So if roots are physically not possible ,put down digital roots.
Make your digital home beautiful .
That’s my Blog beautiful.
That’s what I loved about Shalini’s blogs
She has a beautiful blog home at with an extended kitchen .
Hear her story today.
How many blogs do you manage ?
I manage two blogs. One is Food Blog somethingiscooking.com
Personal blog: kohleyed.me
Personal blog: kohleyed.me
Who is your target audience ?
For the food blog, I would say anyone who loves to cook simple, easy to make dishes at home.
I don’t fancy those complex dishes which takes more than a couple of hours to cook. I am impatient that way. I write about anything and everything on my personal blog.
You can find poems, a bit of fiction, book reviews, movie reviews or even about how my day went by. Thus said, it is more like that warm cup of coffee on a winter day.
Best blog design tips from your experience
Black text in White background- this does the trick always. Choose only a font or two while writing your posts. I believe too much is too bad.
Time management tips for my audience
There was a time when I did Daily Blogging on both my blogs while I had a full-time IT job. It was tedious but I work efficiently and better when I keep myself busy.
I keep a mental reminder of what to do in each hour of the day, thus managing home, work and both the blogs. I also love to make ‘to-do’ lists just after waking up and tick off the list as the day progress.
Best blogging practices
Be regular, even if it means you post only once a week. Appreciate the readers who share and comment on your posts.
Reciprocate your gratitude by reading their blog posts and leaving meaningful comments.
I am dead against leaving a ‘nice post’ comment on any blog.
Which email service do you use?
I use the default WordPress email subscription tool for now. I am learning about other services and it will soon be available on the food blog.
What’s the one thing you wish your blog had or you knew when you started
That’s a bit difficult to answer because I feel content about my blogs always. It is not a good thing for I always want to better my blogs.
So, right now it is a newsletter which my blog needs.
What would you do differently if you had to start now knowing everything you do?
I would concentrate on Image optimization and SEO a bit more if I have to start a blog right now.
I am still taking baby steps but yes, blogging is a long journey.
Give us your top 5 ways of making money from your blog
Even after three years of blogging, I still feel I am an amateur. I have not started earning from my blogs yet, except a few occasional wins in contests.
Do you have any products?
No. I should say, it is work in progress at the moment. I have big things for my blogs in mind in the coming year.
Your inspiration
I draw inspiration from almost everything that surrounds me. Yes, there are days when I lose my cooking mojo.
But then I try to simplify and prepare my comfort food. I am inspired by beautiful ingredients, beautiful recipes, and beautiful stories about food.
I am inspired by the weather and and what I am hungry to eat????.
Your favourite quote
“I stopped feeling like I didn’t belong anywhere and realized that I actually belong anywhere I wanted to be” 🙂
Tips & Your message for struggling Bloggers
Persistence and perseverance rewards. Keep writing good content and do your bit by sharing your articles on social media
You never know when an opportunity will knock your door.
Services+freebies ?
Not yet. It is definitely on top of my list for 2017.
What’s your vision with this venture?
Vision? I believe in short term goals. For example, I wanted to improve my Alexa rank this month and I’m seeing good results.
Next month, I will have some other thing in mind. I guess, achieving each milestone boosts up my morale and that can be seen on my blogs.
Are you involved in any charitable causes ?
Yes and I do not disclose about it much. I have pledge to donate my eyes and I am privileged to be part of a cancer charity support.
Tell us a little bit about your family.Who is your biggest support?
I am an Army Brat and an Army Wife and to say the least, that is my strength.
Short bio
Army Wife -Food Blogger- Food Critic- Product/Restaurant Reviewer- Ardent Reader- Delinquent Poet- Trained Bharatnatyam Dancer- Dog Lover- Wannabe World Traveler- One day wanting to meet the one and only Gordon Ramsay, I cook my heart out to bring a smile on my soldier’s face!
