Letter for you my Daughter April 2020

LETTER TO YOU MY DAUGHTER
LETTER TO YOU MY DAUGHTER

On December 31st, I was ringing in the new year with my family, and then the New Coronavirus happened. With news of people being affected increasing every day, it reached India soon. In our little town in West Bengal, when schools shut down indefinitely, I knew it was time to explain things to my daughter. But with the television blaring every day and listening to us on the phone, the little one with long-distance hearing heard it all.

If you recall, childhood is the most optimistic time of our lives. Even with the strictest lockdown, my daughter has never once talked about anything morbid.

I don’t know whether to explain more or let her be. For now, I think it’s okay to have faith.

But I believe if I want my daughter to be strong, you want to teach by example. It’s not easy being a parent. It’s even more challenging to work on self-improvement while raising a child. This is my letter to you my dear daughter, I hope you will read it one day.

10 Superpowers you must have a dear daughter

1)Be patient my dear daughter

Patience is an often ignored virtue in this fast world. But the fruit of patience is sweet.

2)Always persist. Try, try and try some more till you climb the mountain or make a way through it.

3)Have faith in the Universe and your God. There is a reason faith helps, and it has everything to do with your thoughts.

4)Believe in yourself, because you are as strong as you believe.

5)Choose your friends with care. A lot depends on whom you spend time with. Life is more comfortable and beautiful in the right company.

6)Be kind, it’s a rarely celebrated life skill, but one which will always help you.

7)Be positive, and all good things will happen. You attract what you think about.

8)Let go of things you can’t change. It’s the only way to go forward.

9)Study hard and work hard. That is the only shortcut that works. Life will give you what you want as long as you work hard and pray to God.

10)Take care of your environment because, without our plant and animal friends, life on earth will not be worth living!

What do you think you can do to make your child stronger? Let me know in the comments below.

  1. I’ve found its hard to explain to children and elderly so they understand when a crisis happens. I love your list of super powrs in the letter to your daughter. As for helping to make my great granddaughter stronger, I’m teaching her to think for herself and come up with solutions, I’m teaching her to have a kind heart to everyone and showing her how learning can be fun as well as educational. She is only 20 months old but already is so compassionate to others and his a willingness to learn and share her love.

  2. Lovely post, Amrita. I understand how difficult it can be for a working mother. She basically does a 24/7 job and that is tiring but the only thing she expects out of this is for her family to be happy. Incredible write up. Thank you 🙂

  3. These are some most-needed super powers for daughters and all children. Growing up in today’s times is quite challenging and with the onset of current scenario, these life’s learnings seem very important and powerful. Awesome post!

  4. I guess every mother would want to instill these superpowers in their kids (both boys and girls). I strongly believe that hard work and persistence will surely yield results in the long run. So yes, thats my superpower number one

  5. Such a beautiful list of superpowers in this letter. This all helps to make them good humans in life.

  6. Agree with each point. Stand up and speak for yourself when need arises- I would like to add this to the list.

  7. Those for sure are some important super powers for a child to grow into a hood human being. Loved them
