5 Startling Truths About Motherhood No One Told You #MMM43

5 Things about motherhood no one told you
5 Things about motherhood no one told you

Oh, Motherhood! No one and nothing can prepare you for this. Not your mom, not your best friend.A baby is a new person and you are his or her new mom.Every pregnancy is a miracle and every child a blessing.

But being the mommy to a little girl is life-changing for me.I had heard about sleepless nights and the feeding struggles. The lack of me time and cohabiting the bathroom.

But the 5 things which I think I need to share, will make all moms and would-be moms happier.

5 Startling Truths About Motherhood No One Told You

I think being a mommy is hard because you will always be judged.Even when she grows up. How she lives her life what she does will always reflect on you as a parent. That’s a big responsibility.Being responsible for own behavior is one thing.Being responsible for another human being’s action is going to be there forever. It’s an impossible responsibility which we always struggle with and always will. But I have good news. This responsibility is Gods way of sending a guardian angel for each child. You, my dear mommy, are Gods angel!

Breastfeeding is not a cakewalk for many.It wasn’t for me.But it’s okay. Please, you must forgive yourself. It’s after all Gods will. You can only try. What is important is that you take the right decision at the right time. It’s not a crime to bottle feed if that’s best for you and baby. You must try your best, what will be is God’s will.

It’s a journey to self-improvement.The little pair of ears will hear everything you say and learn from it.Those eyes will watch every move you make and mimic it.There’s only one way to bring up children right.Be the best version of you and try every day.Nothing teaches like a good example. If you want them to be kind.Be kind.If you want them to be thankful, be thankful, if you want them to be creative, color with them, if you don’t want them to be untidy, make the bed every morning.

You will love so deeply that it will hurt.It will make you smile with tears in your eyes. You will believe in God if you didn’t before. If you have loved and been loved in return you know how special that feeling is.The purity of your child’s love will change you. It’s a peaceful, profound unexplainable emotion , which you get when they give you a sudden hug.So keep hugging them and kissing them and continue the cuddles as long as possible.

Your little one is a bit of mommy, a bit of Daddy and a lot of magic wrapped up in Gods blessings. She will always not do everything you wished for her, she will always not like everything you tell her, she may listen, she may rebel, but she should learn to choose, As a mommy your duty is to teach her to choose wisely .we teach her the colors, she paints her own rainbow. You teach her the alphabets she will write her own novel. But you will need to make the framework solid.Make her a wonder-woman like you.Give her your skills, your wisdom and your love and one day she will win those battles which you started fighting a decade ago.

  1. I realised that while I breastfed my kids, I used to look into their eyes and they would stare back at me continuosly. As if they had so much to tell me but don’t know how to.

  2. Just loved your write up a lot, felt connected even though not a mom yet. But i have seen these facets in my loved ones life. Keep going.

  3. I completely relate to your thoughts. I did find breastfeeding difficult but reached a point I could help other friends with similar issues. Glad to see someone talking about such important aspects of motherhood.

  4. True … moms get judged no matter what! Looks like an exciting challenge… will definitely take part!

  5. Very apt post Amrita. Motherhood is a beautiful yet challenging time. I think a mother’s instinct works best in parenting the child.

  6. I love the line “The little one is bit of you, a bit of Daddy and lots of magic wrapped in God’s blessing” Beautiful post Amrita. And yes Motherhood is self improvement every single minute.

  7. Well elucidated on the topic of ‘Motherhood’, Amrita.I have tried to just follow two mantras when I embraced Motherhood – 1) Each child is different 2) As a Mother, do not try too hard to impress every one.Listen to all but do what your instinct asks you to do! And, *touchwood*, this has worked for me 🙂

  8. Such beautiful thoughts, Amrita. Most of us enter motherhood with a set of unsolicited advice, but the joy of finding out the blessing it can be is indeed precious.

  9. I am still single so i am not sure of many facts you discussed here but the breastfeeding difficulty is something I know is true because i see my friend who has just entered into motherhood struggle with it. She is facing difficulty in feeding her baby because enough milk is not being produced for her 🙁

  10. I agree..as a mom we are always judged and we have to be good as we are role models for our little ones. It’s not easy but its worth it.

  11. I could relate to so many of them! Breastfeeding wasn’t easy the first time around and it was painful to see people make assumptions.
