Parenting Tips for Soon to be parents

Being a parent is a joy that makes us realize how beautiful and charming life is. A realization that you are going to give rise to a whole new individual who will become the center of your universe. A sense of responsibility and protectiveness also shakes up your erstwhile negligible and frisky behavior.

All feels good at such time but how will you ensure that the times ahead will also go well. Therefore, it is important that you prepare your best for your tiny one in advance. Here are some of the basic parenting tips for soon to be parents like you. Read and make sure you follow them all.

A new life begins at home. Hence, start your parent-journey by first making your home a home for your baby. The first thing to keep in mind is the hygiene of your home. We know you would never want your child to be sick, so it is you who will make sure that your home is clean and hygienic. If anyone in your home smokes, you can request them to avoid it indoors. In fact, make your home a no-smoking area as cigarette smoke can pollute your indoor air which is quite harmful not just to the baby but also the pregnant mom. You can also install an air purifier for healthy air inside the home. Remember, good changes are going to happen in your life so why not make some good changes in your home too.

  • Learn Patience

No matter how beautiful or exciting it may sound, parenting is also quite exhausting. Therefore, it is necessary that you garner patience for times when you feel frustrated with the overpowering baby responsibilities. You may have to spend many sleepless nights, be worried about the baby crying or the mood swings of your partner, and many more. In such a situation, patience is the key that will help you unlock the door of familial happiness. So, before that baby makes way to your life, learn patience, and be prepared for parenting.

  • Stock Up Baby Products

Though it may not seem important now, the products that you will use for your baby need to be bought from a trusted brand and need to be there in your home for sudden needs. To save yourself from traveling, you can buy things like diapers, baby feeding bottles, baby food or baby care products from e-stores like 1mg.com from where you buy online medicine. However, do consult your doctor before you decide to buy online medicine for your baby.

You may think that how your health is related to parenting, right?  Well, let us tell you that it is as important as keeping your baby safe. If parents do not take care of their own health, then they will not be able to look after their baby well. The mother, especially, should not make any compromise on her health and take a well-balanced diet. The good health of the coming baby depends on the good health of the mother. So, first, keep yourself well and then only you can be a good, happy, and healthy parent.

Read the list? Now, just be prepared for the new beginnings. If you feel afraid or overwhelmed with all the things, do not worry. Just take a deep breath and think about the little bundle of joy that is going to fill your life with beauty.

Talk to other parents or couples who are also walking down the same lane as you. This will help you in keeping your troubles at bay. Parenting is not a thing that you need to learn; it will come to you naturally. Just follow your heart and together you can be the best parents ever. Now smile and be blessed!

  2. I lack patience generally and i think until i don’t build this i would not want to be a parent. The key to parenting for me is to be able to patiently listen to you kid, their actions.

  3. All that you have mentioned is essential for everyone to know. It is not very easy to plan a baby, a lot of preparation goes into it, i think you have aptly covered it all…

  5. Somehow stocking on baby products is not an idea I comply with. Many cultures do not approve it but there’s a good logic behind it. sometimes, life can be cruel and people lose children at the time of birth. buying things in advance ca have a deeper traumatizing effect on the mom to be. all other points, I comply with totally. taking care of your health is the exact thing to do 🙂

  11. Articles like this are a Godsend for first time parents… Advice will come from all over – parents, relatives, friends, the local milkman! – so its important to be able to decide what’s right and what’s needed.

  12. Your blog resonates the thoughts I had when I was in the family planning stage. For me the toughest task was to learn to be patient. .. going to share your post with some to be mommies I know 🙂

  13. Self care is necessary for a new parent especially a mother. Very useful pointers for parents. I am not a new parent but still struggling to be more patient with my daughter. I understand it’s a virtue not all can master , however I am trying to be more calmer with each passing day .

  14. During my first pregnancy, a lot was taught to me about the baby and the life after. But to be frank, when I became a mom my whole life was changed drastically. And all planning started all over again. Every one has a different story.

  15. These are great tips. No one prepares you for just how much patience you are going to need. Also new moms often end up neglecting their own health so I’m glad you added the last point too.

  16. This is just an article I needed to read. Currently patience is not been a virtue of mine… Toddlers with their phases and mine is currently in a crying for everything and for no reason phase. Completely agree that it your article on patience

  17. This is indeed very handy list for all necessity’s of baby’s to be. And yes it’s not easy to find safe and branded products for baby. Thanks for introducing sources from where we can have baby things at our doorstep

  18. This is a handy list! Stocking up on things is so important! A friend had a tough time when they weren’t well prepared. In the daily grind, going shopping is the last thing on your mind after baby is born

  19. This are such good tips for all new parents. I must admit that the first time around I was just like a lost puppy. But when I was having my second baby I was prepared well.

  20. What a lovely post. Point #2 is so important. Being prepared in advance would definitely help the parents-to-be. I loved the last line “follow your heart and together you can be the best parents”.
