As of December News, the recent orders have revealed some standard operating protocols (SOPs) in view of the Omicron variant of COVID-19. The SOPs issued by the government are: 

  • Covid monitoring and control arrangements will be effectively implemented in all areas. 
  • Covid testing will be conducted randomly at airports, railway stations, border check posts, tourist spots and crowded areas.
  • Those who are found positive during Covid testing will be immediately provided medical facilities as per the Covid protocols.
  • The authorities will also ensure strict implementation of Covid appropriate behaviour including social distancing, wearing of masks and hand sanitization in all public areas.
  • Strict action will be taken against those found violating Covid appropriate behaviour. 
  • Awareness campaigns will be conducted in each district to make the people aware of protection from the Omicron variant.
  • Further, Covid tests will be conducted in all the state’s colleges, medical and nursing colleges, engineering colleges, agriculture and technology institutes, universities and other educational institutions.
  • The medical treatment facility will be provided as per Covid protocol to students, teachers and other employees found positive during the tests.
  • Those who have injected 0 dozes of vaccination must avoid being in public and other crowded areas.

These SOPs have been into play since December 1 till further orders in India according to the law.

Therefore, it is important to know the maximum for the better and not for the worse.

  • Less common symptoms: Less common symptoms for the new COVID Variant “Omicron” are diarrhoea, sneezing, runny nose
  • Uncommon symptoms include loss of taste or smell, and sneezing.
  • Serious symptoms: Serious symptoms for the new COVID Variant “Omicron” are difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, loss of speech or mobility, or confusion or chest pain. are

Note: If anyone has any of these symptoms, then he/she should urgently take the COVID test and consult their physician.

It’s expected that most of the Omicron cases will be mild , but precautions must be taken. Continue to wear a mask, social distancing, hand washing, and vaccination to stay safe. Breaking the chain involves each of us doing our part.

One of the best ways to protect yourself from the virus is to vaccinate yourself with the recent dozes. Getting vaccinated will enable your immune system to fight against the virus. If you have not yet vaccinated yourself, it’s important to do so immediately.

  2. Unfortunately I think COVID and the varients will be around a long time. I feel my family has done everything we can to keep us as save as possible. Shots, boosters, masks, hand washing and keep our distance for others. Lia is still the best mask advocate and I hope and pray for a miracle from this deadly illness.
