Healthy Eating for Busy Moms Surbhi Prapanna Book Review

Cooking, eating, and cleaning up never stops, right? Neither does reading and writing. The problem now, is staying focusses. All the long-term goal setting is now in the freezer, and I am taking one day at a time. That’s why I am reviewing the Blogchatter ebooks keeping in mind what I want to learn more of. Cooking is right up there.

How is the Health of the Nation: The report is an eye-opener!

Apollo Pro Health

I think Lockdown made everyone realize the value of cooking skills. Even now in Unlock 1, you should know the right way to make food germ free, if you are ordering in.

The only reason I learned cooking was my mom insisted I learn to do everything she could possibly teach me. That came in good stead many times in life but none more than the last 3 months. When it comes to cooking every day, LockdownLockdown was a good teacher. God always helps those who help themselves, and this A to Z Dr.Surbhi shared her quick recipes with healthy twists to make cooking fun!

In this book, the author shares some delicious Indian recipes. The ingredients, their nutritional information, and the best ways of cooking . The author also shares anecdotal stories that make readers connect well.

There are plenty to choose from. In fact, twenty-six delicious ones.

My favorites

The Amaranth paratha with tomato chutney.its healthy, tasty and ticks off the innovative quotient box

Dal Dhokli is something I never had and really wanted to.

Mixed grains paratha, some new spices to add.

Quinoa pulao never did this well, so I am looking forward to getting it right

Fenugreek Thepla- a big fan of this Gujrati staple. My best friend from Medical College brought the best Theplas for lunch! It’s a love affair since then.

Wheat flour sweets because I have an insatiable sweet tooth.

What works for me

The recipes are simple, secure, made from home ingredients available in all Indian homes. They are Quick and keeps in mind what moms want.

The recipes work and are not fillers.

The chapter on tips for Healthy eating by Busy moms is a helpful addition. I am mentioned there with some very talented bloggers, and that makes it even more special.

  1. Thanks a lot dear Amrita for this wonderful review, I am glad you liked the book.

  2. Yes I agree, it’s made us realize the value of cooking skills for sure! I love to cook and bake and have been doing so much more since the lockdown. I’ve also been having Lia help me, she may not remember all of it but I’m sure once she has it in her blood, she will continue cooking!
