Boya Microphone: Pocket-friendly Lapel mic Review

BOYA LAPEL MIC:REVIEW

BOYA LAPEL MIC:REVIEW

Do you know why I wanted a lapel mic? It looked so cool on television and if one is on video, they should at least look good, right? Or so I thought. The content, editing, look everything aside, if the audio is bad it can be a pain watching a video or listen to a podcast.

But I wanted my audio content out there for all those who couldn’t see or read my posts. I also used the SwitchPod to keep the phone steady while recording on the Phone.Thinking about the user experience, is what Pat teells us about in his book Superfans too.

With such lofty plans, I started with video and podcasting a year back. Still trying to find a schedule. But one thing I continued to struggle with, was audio. Expensive microphones were everywhere and I had some prize money, left from the Indiblogger gift vouchers on Amazon. But which one to spend my precious prize money on? I was so confused and the extensive research just made it paralyzing. When in doubt I refused to spend money and just used my phone ear to record.

Tinny sound and life went on. Podcasting was slow and vlogging even slower. With sound pollution everywhere I would need a shower cubicle like the one Seth Godin uses to get the perfect sound/

Then on one Facebook live with Blogchatter Akash Banerjee mentioned Boya. I checked out the reviews and all were good. Also, the Amazon great Indian festival was coming soon and I had a plan.

Now the question is why would you want a lapel mike?

If you have heard the social media noise blogging is facing competition from the video! Now podcast is something like the old age radio just easier to get started with. So radio is making a comeback but in a new Avatar!

Whatever people say, its unlikely written words will go away. But some people who are unable to read may be helped by my audio content. That’s why I started. Some people may not like screen time to increase after their work hours. Some may want to listen to you while they garden or cook, some may just be traveling and would want to listen to pass time. Your audio content will help them do all this and more. Try out Boya and let me know. If you want all the other things I love, do check out my Blogging resources.
