Life has come a full circle.I am trying my best to answer the whys of my daughter.A  mother’s help and guidance is a blessing.Sharing a few of my mom’s tips which help me every day.

5 tips Mommy Taught Me: Indian Mommy Life Hacks

Health is most important

That’s why my mother never forgot to pack two different snacks even when I was in college. One for lunch break, one for after school if there were extra classes. She says

Until you eat well you can’t concentrate!

That’s so true. Our brain needs glucose all the time and burns it up more when we are doing brain work.Makes sense right, to have nutritious munchies next to me, when I sat down to study.Apples, nuts, and raisins were always kept close by when I studied. This habit I am teaching my Rai too. What you learn unconsciously through habits, are as important as what you learn through books.

Never stop learning.

I love reading.Books are my friend, therapy for my mind. It’s relaxation and entertainment at the same time. Now I love reading blogs too. Can’t stop. It’s like the world’s largest library, which you can read all you want, whenever you want.

Thankful Thursdays: are: What mom taught me

If there’s one habit I want Rai to learn is to make the habit of reading.

My favorite books which  my mom shared:

Go-Giver : Read my favorite quotes from the book.

The Trick to Money is Having Some is another book , which has helped me understand, my mom’s money management tips. She is big on saving. But she is even more insistent on appreciating, what you do have.Read my book summary of The Trick to Money is Having Some!

I am planning to buy a Kindle e-reader , to have my library on the Go.Yes, I have been talking about it for some time and wishing it will magically materialize. But not having luck with the magic part.Google seems to have few pages about creating objects with magic ,and none where a kindle reader is created.I think amazon may be my best option here.

Keep a piece of you always for you.

The place where you go to when everything seems to hurt.Life is a series of experiences, joys, and sorrow. But nothing lasts forever. When the times are tough, have a little island within yourself. This should be your safe place , likethatwhich will always support you no matter what. It’s like your personal cheerleader. No judging, just saying

Yes you can do it!

We need slike thatSometimes we are lucky.More often, you have to be that person yourself.

Never give up.Ever!

Call this persistence perseverance, stubborn whatever. That’s one advice I have taken to heart.I have never let anything stop me.Even when I haven’t always got what I thought I would, I have tried and tried.Till the end result surprised me.We have to do what we can, what happens is destiny.

If you can dream it, it can be.

Did you read Think and Grow rich?I read this years later .but when I was young my mom told us to pray and tell God what we wanted and how we could do something to get it.Dreamscaping sounds surreal. But it’s like your brain is a giant whiteboard , where your dream can find the road when reality can’t!

Writing this for the prompt #ThanfulThursdays. #Mother’sDay celebration.

Thankful Thursdays :Thik and Grow rich quote. The one thing which I never forget.
