It’s important to understand that  vaccines and vaccination schedules in India are evaluated by national bodies by Indian Academy of Pediatricians and some are included in the national schedule compulsorily.

Revised National Immunization Schedule India 2022 2023

The compulsory vaccines are made so after proper research, epidemiological data and necessary clearance. All vaccination schedules should be discussed with your Doctor.

As an undergraduate medical student, I explored the world of vaccines. But when it came to writing about them I relied heavily on the information provided by my hubby the pediatrician(I only provide research-backed information). While vaccination is a very important topic, its also prone to controversies and doubts.

My husband Dr.Abhijit Misra, the man behind this mompreneur is passionate about helping parents and writes the necessary drafts for all articles needing his expertise. All the articles dealing with child health and, immunizations happen after I have completed picking his brain in detail.

What is vaccination?

VACCINATION HEALTHWEALTHBRIDGE

Vaccination is the process by which a person is made immune or resistant to an infectious disease by giving a vaccine. A vaccine helps the bodies defense system or immunity to get activated and ready for future infection or disease. Its one way of priming the immune system.

What happens when you give a vaccine?

When a vaccine is given, the pathogen or part of the pathogen excites the body’s immune system to recognize it as harmful. It then stores this information in its memory. In case there is an attack by the same pathogen, the body’s immune system remembers and starts an attack quickly on the disease-causing agent.

What about natural immunity?

Natural immunity works for some diseases for some though the mortality and morbidity of the infection and disease need prevention.

Why immunization?

Immunization is an excellent healthcare tool for controlling and eliminating life-threatening infections. It prevents millions of deaths year after year. Its a cost-effective way of prevention of disease, mortality, and disability. It is a cost-effective preventive tool and valuable health investment. With the right strategies and outreach, the most vulnerable target population is given access to vaccination for better health. The best part, it needs no lifestyle change for it to be effective.
