MyFriendAlexa Blogging Challenges :Are you ready?(season 3.0)

I love blogging. The writing, tech part, almost everything! I enjoy social media too but less. My absolute favorite is Twitter, followed by Pinterest. But one thing I must tell you is, I adore SEO. But what is SEO? What’s to love? Search Engine Optimization is SEO in full form. It’s your way of cutting down on absolute overwhelm, with social sharing.

But what does it do?

Search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo are like traffic guide for web users.W hen you write something in the search bar of Google, the search engine spiders called bots, quickly scan all the indexed pages to find the most relevant information for you. It happens in nanoseconds.

Then how do you make your posts SEO friendly?

This is an endless topic and has many authorities talking on this. But I have made it easier for you in my book. The lessons are meant for all those who cannot afford the expensive plugins, courses and over-the top-of-the-head craziness which can make blogging less fun.

But you are a hobby blogger, right?

Oh, I get it, you are writing because you love it and want to share your joys with your readers, Nothing competitive! But my dear friend, if your readers don’t find you, how will they fall in love with what you write?

Did you understand the problem now!

The biggest myth about SEO

That it’s difficult!

#Mythbuster 1

SEO is cool, fun, necessary .just like sunshine is important for you, SEO is sunshine for your blog. You will have several artificial light sources, but without the sun, it’s not going t be the same.

The  number one reason I  keep learning about SEO are :

I want people to find my blog and read it. My medical posts are in-depth topic discussions and is my way of spreading #HealthforAll.Without SEO helping me I reach only a few people through social media.

But you are confused with all the information floating around right? Today in this first post I will tell you three truths you must remember if you are just starting your blog.

  • You must have a self-hosted blog. Otherwise, all your blog stats have little value.
  • Get a self-hosted blog if you like reading and writing.
  • Write for your audience with a human voice and dress up those blog posts with SEO makeup, if you want them to be read organically.
  • With social media like Facebook decreasing organic reach, if you don’t get your SEO game right , blogging may become more personal than even you  bargained for

Top Secret tip in this series:

You, me and the blogger you admire, we all are beginners in our own ways. Don’t let the weird sounding words give you jitters. If you can write and read, SEO will be a cakewalk. Just remember the proof of the cake is in the eating and the proof of SEO is in how your blog performs!

  4. Thank you for the tips. I bought a domain but I just don’t feel like it’s the right time to self-host. Because I would need to move my entire blog and take care of a lot of technical things. Probably going forward I will have to do that by hiring someone as a one-time cost
