Father’s Day: Not without Daddy

I believe the only reason  I  even try to be wonder woman , is because I have Super Daddy helping me.Otherwise, after 15 years of Medical education, I would have a  hard time managing home and work .Not mentioning blogging here because writing suddenly has a life of its own and has grown up to get itself done even in the middle of the madness.

This post was written a few years back but republished to celebrate Father’s Day.

My hubby is Daddy dear with a twist. He does everything mommy does, with less amount of irritation. But Mommy wins hands down, when it comes to cuddles and creative challenges.

Are all Dads superheroes?
Believe it or not, till 5 years of age they are, at least if they are reasonable normal dads.

After that, the child will judge you by standards which are pretty high, so superhero status can get difficult.

What makes a superhero Daddy?

I think men who can feel, make superhero daddies .They are those who can love. They are not afraid of nappy changes, who never stop being their partners best friends make superhero daddies.Men who love their wives and can rise above their Y chromosome’s, hunter-gatherer mode, can become super daddy.

Behind every well-behaved, kind child,is a set of well-behaved kind parents.

Mommy and Daddy are the two parts of the universe. Both needs to be super material, to carry on the work of future building.

  • Daddy must be able to wipe tears and put back a smile.
  • Babysit with elan.
  • Help mommy potty train the little one.
  • Help with baby feeding.
  • Should help with teaching the child
  • Should not undermine mommies 100% veto power.
  • Should always love mommy and baby.
  • Should always be there when a bully needs taking care of.
  • Should always remember that mommy and baby are waiting at home and come home early in the evenings to play and give mommy a break!

  1. Thank you for sharing these wonderful ideas on how to celebrate father’s day. I especially loved the idea of surprising my dad with a beautiful bouquet from Interflora India. They have such a great selection of flowers to choose from, and their premium flower delivery service ensures that the flowers arrive fresh and on time. It’s the perfect way to show my dad how much he means to me and to let him know how grateful I am for all that he’s done. Thank you for the inspiration and for helping me make this father’s day one to remember!

  2. Hey Amrita, that is a cute list of what dads should ne able to do. I remember my man getting up in the middle of night along with me to change diapers of our kids.

  3. Absolutely! Children learn what they see and if they see their dad’s being responsible and contributing, they will end up being the same as they grow up and if it’s a girl, she will always look for similar traits in her partner.

  4. Lovely post, darling! I love reading all dad blog post recently! They deserve so much credit!

  5. That is such a sweet post. I know my dad is a super hero. He did so much for me growing up. I would hope my future husband had these qualities and my kids would look at him how I look at my dad. You make excellent points and really interest read. Thanks for sharing.

  6. I can see why kids can see their dad as a superhero. I don’t know if I ever saw my dad as one but my friend has a kid right now who definitely sees her daddy as a superhero figure and it’s really adorable. I hope she never grows out of it!

  7. Great to know of your superhero dad in home.. Same goes for me, since my hubs has been doing everything possible for our kid, better than me! He does all tasks for him with great sense of love & humor except cooking & that’s so much of help to me!
