Mommying in COVID times works like this!

My daughter has her online half yearly exam going on.She seems to enjoy the interactions with her teachers.

Having nice teachers are important for so many reason.Making learning fun and exam stress free, are just two of them.

Now my daughter decided to share her tips for exams.

I hope you like them.

She also drew this step by step dance stick figure, to teach me a new dance.

Then decided to fit a song to it. Currently, all these activities are keeping us happy.

Durga puja shopping is nonexistent this year. The little one has never asked for a few dresses. But is happy to go through her collection and dress it up

That’s something I am learning from her.

As a mother I am learning so many things.

The most difficult part is to unlearn reactions and focus on actions. It’s been seven days since the daily blogging Challenge started and it already feels like forever.

I am constantly asking myself why I try this.

It’s the discipline of it .

So what are my top learnings as a mother in 2020

Never ever say never.

You can do it all.Literally.

Digital is amazing but human is human.

Thank God for schools and teachers.

Schooling is more than studies.

Spouses are made of sugar, spice and all things nice .Plus a pinch of fairy dust.

Being stuck with someone who is not a friend is difficult.

I can’t wait to get pricked by a vaccine.

I can now cook almost everything.Correction I can eat almost everything I cook .

I am getting tips for people-managing by my daughter. They are working.I think.

Whatever it is I am trying to write everyday. My Podcast just crossed 5K listens and that made me happy .Let’s see what the future holds. For now I am downloading books  movies and writing my 2020 blog posts ,like I am in a time capsule. Its a ramble and something more.

I wanted to share important stuff, life lessons, crucial tips. But this October it seems to be stories memories and life’s like that. I am doing more art than ever ,and that’s strange for me.

But whatever is happening I am happy to accept ,most of the time.Rest of the time I am busy asking why?Why did this happen?

I am sure there’s a lesson to learn.Life is never going to be the same. Hopefully  it will be better .

But whatever it is we will strive to live better, one day at a time

  1. Hello Dr. Amrita Basu!

Loved your daughter’s “tips for taking the exam”. Was that out of a planner of hers or just on regular paper? Online even? Whatever the case may be…I like her style!!! Being a paper crafter, anytime I see illustrations and ‘stuff’, I smile.

I hope she does well on her exam…and I enjoyed reading your 2020 list for the learning mother. I can check off a few of them as well and my children are grown. 🙂

    Until next time,
    Nancy

  2. As the mother of seven, I am so glad that I’m not raising my kids now. It seems so much harder. Great job, and your daughter is very talented.

  3. Ahhh. Life is a journey. If the scenery is not changing, you are probably standing still. It is great to hear about the things you are seeing and how you are interpreting them.
    Blog on!
If it was easy, we could not call it a challenge could we. 😉
