Hey its okay if you didn’t do the laundry

Hey its okay if you didn’t do the laundry
I wanted to write this post for ..forever .I was never good with organizing clothes.Books I am much better with ,but clothes makes me tired.I buy very few clothes.

This is mainly because I suffer excruciating problems with throwing away stuff .

Hey its Okay if you didn’t do the Laundry

Donating pre-loved clothes:A few upsets

Giving away works but the intense work of matching the item with the person and offering my old clothes to people can be awkward.Luckily local NGOs help with this part. But its still a sore point.

Even in flood affected region when people need clean clothes, propaganda about new clothes only policy, prevents many from donating barely worn clothes. In our school we had a policy of donating one set of new ,together with well maintained pre-loved clothes.

But I am going off topic.Back to the subject of laundry.

Life happens when you are not planning

The laundry everywhere!

My trauma about laundry makes me forever watch what I buy and binge on 5 minutes organization videos.

The clothes in the hamper waiting to be washed. The just washed clothes in the washing machine waiting to be hung outside .The clothes on the clothesline dry and fresh waiting to be picked. The clothes waiting to be folded. The clothes waiting to be put away .The clothes waiting to be ironed .The clothes waiting to be packed for the trip.
We come back and there’s clothes to wash and there we go again. Are you getting the drift?

Hey it’s okay if you didn’t do the laundry

How I managed laundry with a baby?

When my seven year old was an infant the agency help we had, used to wash and clean clothes the entire time. For the last six years, I had someone  help me with this part time but still much had to be done. But now its just me ,hubby and the little one.

For the major wash days when the clothes are dry I enlist the help of  my daughter or hubby .I pick and fold the cloth and drop them into five piles. One for me one for hubby, one for daughter ,which she will put away and one of her pile which I will put away ,household big stuff like bedsheets etc .
This makes just picking and putting them away so much easier.

If I miss one day of sorting, the next day its impossible.I handwash the small stuff.Whenever they are dried and pick them up and fold them and put them away immediately .

My favourite washing liquid

I use mostly a liquid soap  for washing clothes.Just like its name(Genteel) it takes care of my hand, but cleans the clothes thoroughly .
Interesting it gets rid of even concentrated dirt and grime. Its great for bucket washing and washing machine.

Its really much friendlier for my hands than all the highly advertised washing powders. My ten year old trusty LG washing machine means life is good!

Whenever I don’t want to do house work, I think of what my daughter will learn .Luckily we share our washing, drying folding, ironing chores.

Our life goes on. Daughter or son, hope you are teaching them how to handwash and do laundry, because they are lifeskills!
