Eyes of beholder:5 Beauty products I am Thankful for

5 Beauty Products that Help

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder .But no harm in helping the one, who is looking right?Looking good not only makes you feel good, but you actually help people by showing them a pretty face.Social service ?Yes that’s exactly what I mean.I am a little mad when it comes to makeup.I end up buying too much on a binge and then having to throw them away .You do know  that makeup needs regular purging, right?

So its best if you try one new product at a time.Otherwise,if you are not a model or a full makeup-on-everyday person ,Your makeup may need to be thrown out even before its halfway done.

Thankful Thursdays:When to shop for new makeup

5 Beauty Products I am Thankful for

I hate chapped dry lips .I  also love chatting with friends and family .All chatterboxes know, that talking too much ,can dry the lips.So keeping them moisturized and sealing in the moisturizer with a good lip balm is a must .That way the lipstick looks better.Cracked lips and lipstick is not a great look. Boroline is still a favourite, because it works

(There maybe affiliate links in the following post. That means if you click on it and buy your usual stuff or my recommended products ,I will earn a small commision. This in no way, affects the prize at which you buy it.Feel free to let me know if you do buy, using the link. You will get a special  gift as a thank you from me.)

If happiness is the magic elixir to make you  beautiful from inside, then a beautiful skin is the only makeup you need.I love moisturizers .But can’t use heavy oily ones .So I use NMF moisturizer and body lotions for all moisture needs of my skin. For the mandatory anti ageing trial , Olay  Anti-ageing serum works very well for me.Its light non-greasy and never blocks my pores.

Going out for a quick trip to the market ?I never forget my sunscreen.Tanning which happens with a heavy-duty sunscreen is temporary and you can get it off with a few packs at home. But the non use of sunscreen will make your skin develop a permanent tan and sun damage is inevitable.I use Sunban Forte sunscreen cream

I am an eyeliner person.Since i wear contact lenses I avoid too much Kaajal .What I do is line my upper lid with eye liner to give it a nice winged look and keep the lower margin free. It’s in  between made-up and not so much!My favourite is the Lakme Liquid eyeliner range.Since eye makeup is frequently replaced  I take care to buy quality product but not outrageously expensive ones.

Then comes the lipstick. Lipstick needs to be changed every 12 months. If it smells or tastes rancid it’s definitely gone bad.Remember you practically eat a little bit of lipstick with each of your meals.I am still to find a 100% non-transfer eco-friendly and kiss friendly lipstick.I am really looking forward to try the new Lakme Absolute Argan oil collection. It has 15 gorgeous shades to choose from!

I was recently gifted two  new lipsticks. So  I have to wait sometime before I can claim lipstick to be  a health necessity. One is  by Sugar cosmetics, and the other one by Nudus. Do you want to try lead free cruelty free lipsticks?Nudus is one such available on amazon. Sephora too has a range of lead free lipstick.

I am a big fan of collecting lipsticks .My favourite colour is Red!The very crimson to the lightly stained .I have a nice collection.Problem is finding healthy safe products. Hardly any lipstick  brands display their composition (something to do with secret formula). So it makes us vulnerable to unscrupulous brands.

Important thing to remember is anything which is “natural” is not safe !Lead the most common contaminant which is still used as a pigment in many brands, is present in the earth’s crust. So it’s definitely natural .But not fit for humans. While looking for safe lipstick you may have to spend  a little bit more. But it’s worth it.

I try to use as little makeup as possible and use the safe cosmetic guidelines to choose my products .Check out the guidelines here .FDA has pages dedicated to help you choose  makeup responsibly. What are the beauty products which make you thankful?Comment below to let me know.

  1. I need to print this, I didn’t know the time to buy foundations and concealers. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Very nicely you sorts many confusions about makeup products, like what to choose that’s skin friendly. I’m a kajal lover and do believe only best quality product and not to compromise with our skin health thanks for sharing

  3. I’m a sucker for serums, and I keep hearing about this Olay serum. I’ll have to try it one day. Also, just like you, I’m a sucker for a red lipstick. I’ve never thought about their content being healthy/unhealthy though, so I appreciate you bringing out that point.

  4. I’m not any good at throwing mine out. I keep it forever. I need to look through mine.

  5. I love collecting makeup, sadly I feel like it’s more for looking at and less for wearing.

Especially in winter, when I’m basically staying in most days. I’m excited to go buy some new products when spring arrives as I recently went like four months without wearing makeup. It was great for my skin and my confidence.

    Thanks for sharing,

  6. I never indeed thought about safety ’bout makeup. I also pick the cheapest lipstick (as they tend to be expensive sometimes). And I also only use red. But have to start reading the labels more. Thank you for sharing this.

  7. I don’t know what my favorite is I guess lipstick. That expiration and the quantity of makeup barely match. Lol, it’s impossible to wear it enough to make it disappear in that time frame.

  8. Lipstick love is something we women can’t deny!! I too fall for lipsticks all time. Loved your list of best five plus the information you have mentioned as an expert.
Shelf life is too crucial to check..be it any product. It’s heartwrenching to throw hand picked loves but health is wealth. Love reading your post always ❤

  9. I also am a chatterbox and my chapped lips are very embarrassing. I have tried so many products and nothing seems to work. I will give Boroline a try. Thanks for sharing your useful tips.

  10. Loved the products you use. I am not a brand person and so keep experimenting with the products. The buying timeperiod you shared tells me it is time to bin a few of the things in my makeup kit 😀

  11. I really like that picture with details on expiry of beauty products. And looks like we are all fan of lipsticks. Sunscreen is really important and not to be missed. Enjoyed writing on this prompt with you all. 🙂
