This year on International Women’s Day ,the theme is #BreakTheBias;Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow.
One one hand that sounds perfect.Then you remember about survival of the fittest.The intention of international and national agencies are wonderful,but the work starts with us.
You need to work on your own selves relentlessly.You have to love ourselves deeply.You have to remember that you matter .
You have to catch hold of your dreams even when you can’t fly.You have to teach your sons and daughters -they are born equal.
For every woman who is educated ,helps educate a family.Women are not just a “gender”.Women are proof of life .
That things happen in perpetuity. That the world will survive.
Every day when you read,write,cook,clean,draw,paint,publish a blog post or tinker with your car,you are breaking the Bias.What people think you are or you can be ,doesn’t matter. It’s what you think that matters.
The pandemic has affected everyone. But for women it was a different cup of tea.No amount of story telling or painting will take away the horrors of the pandemic and the current world situation.But now more than ever the world need’s to learn to have a women’s touch and the determination of a mother to heal the world.Remember Goddess Durga.She is a mother,fighter and a survivor.
