  1. Awesome ideas! I know I’m a prime example for over eating during the holidays! Especially with desserts but it’s a great idea to start eating before I cook! Will give it a try!

  2. Holidays and food will get you. Sneak right through your goals and live you disappointed. I skipped a cookie exchange to avoid the temptation but now want to do 12 days of cookies. Which means not starting a no sugar diet until that’s over, lol. I’m pretty good at not over indulging but I’m also good at eating a treat daily.

  3. Thanks for these great tips. My biggest overeating problem comes from relatives insisting that I’m too skinny and non stop handing me food that they made specially for me. It’s nearly impossible to refuse without hurting their feelings.

  4. These are excellent tips. I also try to eat healthy during the holidays. I like to try everything, but only put a tiny bit of everything on my plate. That way I know I’m not going overboard.

  5. I love these tips, i drink alot of water which definitely helps, and i dont over indulge like i used to as i always drink the water first and then eat.

  6. These are really good tips. I’m not a fan of cooking with salt, but I can’t control what others put in their food.

  7. Don`t eat all the desearts on the buffet table! Thats my biggest take for today especially as I love desserts very much.

  8. Good tips to keep in mind anytime I’m invited to a large gathering where there is always a variety of food choices. The opportunity to overeat is so tempting.

  9. I always try not to overeat but at the same time, it is the holidays 😉 But I will try to watch it so I can fit into my pants.

  10. “The holiday food binge makes “you” 5 kg heavier, every decade”… OMG!! That’s scary! Thanks for the tips, they make sense and can certainly help in staying fit!

  11. I always over indulge over the holiday season, so it’s always good to keep in mind a few tips to prevent this. Especially after I end up with a very sore stomach from over eating. Your tips are great, thanks for sharing them.

  12. Great Tips Amrita…never knew there was a connection between the color and food. But somewhere, the overall Indian cooking is loaded with weight-increasing stuff. Need to select the healthier options (still a challenge for me though).

  13. Great tips Amrita. Portion control, eating healthy, water and staying physically active can actually do the trick. Useful and informative post and apt for the festive season.

  14. Really, “holiday seasons” can load you up with weight, which you spent months working out. But I think when you do for a vacation, you should not restrict yourself. Cause that is the very reason, you took a vacation. To be Yourself. To Have Fun. To Relax. To Enjoy.

  15. I do all the things you mentioned we shouldn’t and so holidays and weight gain are my constant companions.
    I will try and curb my sweet tooth with this tip;
    Don’t eat all the deserts on the buffets . Select the one you really love . Maybe have a bite of another .
    Use the 3 bite rule.First bite for pleasure.Second bite to slowly savour it.3rd bite for a lingering memory.
