Have you read The  7 Habits of Highly Effective People ?

This book by Stephen .R.Covey is a must read .

If you want your life to follow your dreams, read the book!

It’s the passport to success .

Growing up everyone has   dreams. On the way to becoming adults we forget our dreams. But what if you could make your dreams come true?

This book is not a magic book. It’s a book which helps you shine your inner self.

That part of you, which helps  you succeed or fail.

That part which lifts you up when you fall down.
According to the author, success is a learned habit .In this book you learn ,exactly how.

Favourite quote from the book :

There is no real excellence in all this world which can be separate from right living.

David Starr Jordan

We are what we repeatedly do.Excellence ,then is not an act ,but a habit.

Aristotle

Golden nuggets from the book:

Habit is the intersection of knowledge , skill and desire.

Production of desired result and production capability are both important.

Focus on the golden egg and the goose .
Our most important financial asset is our capacity to earn.

Work always for improving your own production capability.

3 of the favourite habits

  • Be proactive
  • Think win -win
  • Seek first to understand ,then to be understood.

The book is 342 pages if you ignore the Appendix. It’s packed full of stories and lessons

Cons of the book:

It’s a wall of text.

Your eyes will glaze over.

Its pretty long for the genre, (I feel ).

It’s not light reading.

Pros of the book:

Life altering .

If you can read ,imbibe and learn .Then it will make life interesting .

The author doesn’t just tell you about 7 tips.

He  helps you change from the inside .The stories, the psychology ,the hacks are really all aimed to show you the way.

But for  this you have to be ready .Ready to change .

Inside out.That’s the first step.

25 million copies of this book have been sold.

  3. I have not read the book and the fact that you mentioned that it is pretty lengthy, doesn’t spur me to read it either. However, I do agree with and love the points you have picked out and shared with us. I believe in all of them.
And this quote ‘We are what we repeatedly do.Excellence ,then is not an act ,but a habit.’ is what i abide by.
