Samarpita Mukherjee Sharma’ s book Write Edit Promote, was the first book I downloaded this year.
BlogchatterEbookCarnival gives us an amazing array of books to choose from and I am forever looking for books, to help me in my journey called life.
Writing is a favorite friend I made four and a half years back. I love reading books on writing by authors. It is like a crash course of the craft of writing. That’s why Samarpita’s book was much awaited. She is a professional editor with years of experience. When knowledge meets experience, it’s always helpful!
What is Write ,Edit ,Promote about?
- The book is divided into three sections, where the author talks about writing, editing and promoting. She gives a disclaimer up front that this is for beginners.
- But its always good to revise right? Just like that, all writers will be helped, by her tips about the editing process.
She also gives an insight into the steps of making your book the finished product.
- How to find a pro beta reader?
- How to find an editor?
It took me an hour to read the book, with two interruptions. The book gives implementable pointers to self-edit as well as hire a professional one. Remember professional editing is expensive.
5 things I loved about the book
- It completely avoids frills and fillers. A book like this works because of its packed full of wisdom.
- It’s written by a subject matter expert and that’s a boon.
- It’s easy to read and implement.
- It’s a chance for new authors to know the basics of self-editing.
- It’s free now for download. Go grab it here!
My favorite quote from the book:
[bctt tweet=” While we all write for a reason if you are not in the habit of reading don’t try getting in this habit of writing …golden words from @Bookluster #Healthwealthbridge” username=”misra_amrita”]
The Book Blurb
In this book, I have addressed questions about writing, editing, hiring an editor, and even, how to promote a book without spending a bomb. Many people are confused and unaware of the process. The writer of the piece looks at his work from the writer’s eyes. And editors eyes spot things a writer’s eye doesn’t. Of this book, I am the author.
