Treatment of Kidney stone

Kidney stones may be an incidental finding on routine abdominal ultrasonography. Symptoms occur when the stone passes through the different part of your urinary tract. This causes the pain to shift and is spasmodic.

The stones are painful when passed through the ureter. Prevention is a very important part of public health awareness. Imaging is often needed for diagnosis. Initial stages of medical management are possible. Delays with experimental therapy make the situation complicated.

80% of all kidney stones are made of calcium Uric acid stones are about  5 to 10 %. Decreasing dietary calcium is bad for health. But you can decrease oxalates in your diet and prevent the calcium oxalate stones. Foods containing a high amount of oxalate are rhubarb, parsley, walnuts, spinach, and chocolate. 1. This was very informative and helpful… Thank you, Amrita, I have been doing most of the above suggestions wrong like driking those aerated drinks, those salted chips, not drinking enough water (every time mummy angrily insists on finishing the entire glass, I respond saying, “the amount of water is gradually diminishing from earth, so I’m trying to save as much as I can by drinking lesser quantity :P”

  2. I had a question doc.
I am a vegetarian and follow a heavy weight lifting workout routine three days a week. So my trainer suggested to have 1 scoop of Whey Protein alongwith 1 scoop of glutamine and 1 scoop of BCAA daily after workout.
Someone told me this could lead to kidney stones. What should i do? Is taking Whey important ?
The Whey I take is free from flavours and is in pure Whey Concentarte.

  3. My SIL had Kidney Stones and apparently it really really hurts, right? This is valuable information and as with all health issues prevention is better than cure. Thanks for sharing.
