Threads of Suspicion by Dee Henderson :BOOK REVIEW

Threads of Suspicion by Dee Henderson is a murder mystery. While reviewing mystery books it’s a critical balance to write without making it a spoiler. That’s why I am avoiding long-winded summary and going for a quick review.

About the plot

There’s an interesting plot line where a special task force is made to find the missing persons over the years in the county.

The task force is headed by Evie  Blackwell, a cop who shares a personal relationship with God.But  she is still struggling to commit to the love of her life.

David the other main protagonist is a devout Christian who is also an excellent cop, who found his God when he survived car crash .It’s his relationship with a famous singer Maggie also known as triple M which gets to be crucial part of the story .

What I liked

The way the characters of the girl. Who went missing was fleshed out through police interviews.

Also liked th peek into the personal life of law enforcement officers and what they have to juggle .

The human touch to the celebrity singer and her efforts to come to terms with her own belief in God!

What could have been better

A tighter plot by getting rid of.parallel narratives which diluted the pace .

More insight into police work.

The immense number of characters introduced in the story at first, though sounded interesting were not fully fleshed out.

What may not work for some

If you are a non believer, the strong undercurrent of religious discussion can be a little off-putting!

Who should read the book?

Mystery lovers, especially who likes psychological analysis of characters.

Do I recommend it?

Yes, it’s a good read, which though slow-paced at first picks up speed in the later parts.

Overall I liked how the mystery was solved but felt it could have been done with a few chapters less .

Disclaimer: I received an electronic copy of the book .I am Reviewing it at the request of the publisher .All opinions are 100% mine.
