Thankful Challenge in November with ThankfulThursdays (42)

November Thankfulness Challenge

November Thankfulness Challenge

Do you appreciate your eyes?Your ears? Can you see, hear taste and touch, move and breathe? All painlessly and with no effort? This makes you more blessed than many people in this world, who struggle with these very things.Did you thank God for being healthy?Do you realize the biggest chaos in the personal space involves health and money?

While good physical and mental health helps you earn well.A lot of money can’t buy health. What it can do is help you buy medicines and make you comfortable in illness. It is best to be healthy and earn well. But no money and poor health is a worry for many.

Top 15 Things Money Can’t Buy

Time. Happiness. Inner Peace. Integrity. Love. Character. Manners. Health. Respect. Morals. Trust. Patience. Class. Common sense. Dignity.” Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart

Work hard and play with the care that’s my motto.I started wearing specs when I was in Class 11.I had a serious lung infection when in class 12 .Luckily God’s blessing and my moms care helped me regain my health and do well in studies at that crucial time of life.

I have seen when I stress too much about anything I catch a cold or the health suffers. This stress is a silent killer and gives us a quicker death than many another notorious disease. The bad news is we are all exposed.

Good news is prevention is possible, free easily available and possible for all.

Last week a friend of my hubby died suddenly.Yes even as a doctor I was shocked. He was there the day before chatting with my hubby and the next morning I saw him sleeping peacefully but breathing no more, I also got news of a friend from our Medical college, who died an untimely death. Both deaths shocked us, each one a younger man than what we expect death to arrive for.But death did visit them. Leaving their family grappling with the cruel reality of this one truth which stumps us all.

Life is for the living, but death will visit us all. When, where and how I believe is in God’s hand.If I did accept that, my next goal is to, make life as fruitful and healthy as possible.

Living fully with good health is my aim.I want to be healthy, happy and watch my daughter grow up.I want to see my fishes grow up.I want to visit all the forests, hills and fields with flowers and gardens in this world.I want to dive, fly, swim, love and play with abandon.

I want to meet Mr. Shah Rukh Khan, Mr.Trump, and our honorable Prime minister Mr.Modi!

I also want to leave a healthier world for my child. The gift of good health and good sense is the best one I feel.

Writing this after a very hectic first part of the week in good health after a tooth scare.Thankful for good Doctors and God’s blessing and keeping me healthy.

Do read the following  favorite quotes about health:

Be careful about reading health books. Some fine day you’ll die of a misprint.” Markus Herz

In some cases, Google can be a culprit too if you don’t check the authority of the content!Who is writing it, where they are writing, source of  their knowledge and qualification matters.

Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”  Hippocrates

Good health depends a lot on what you put inside your body and how much you move.I  deeply believe in the healing power of nutritious food. Now the problem is how nutritious are our food?

Healthy citizens are the greatest asset any country can have.”
Winston S. Churchill

That’s why in India we need to focus more on the quality health of the population.Quantity wise we need better plans to manage.

Don’t destroy yourself by allowing negative people add gibberish and debris to your character, reputation, and aspirations. Keep all dreams alive but discreet, so that those with unhealthy tongues won’t have any other option than to infest themselves with their own diseases.”
Michael Bassey Johnson, The Infinity Sign

Physical health and emotional or mental health go hand in hand. That’s why poor health makes us sad and depression causes a multitude of diseases!Take care of your body and mind and all will be well!
